לְשַׁחֵ֣ת to destroy lə·ša·ḥêṯ אֶפְרָ֑יִם Ephraim . ’ep̄·rā·yim כִּ֣י For kî אָֽנֹכִי֙ I ’ā·nō·ḵî אֵ֤ל am God ’êl וְלֹא־ and not wə·lō- אִ֔ישׁ man — ’îš קָד֔וֹשׁ the Holy qā·ḏō·wōš בְּקִרְבְּךָ֣ One among you — bə·qir·bə·ḵā וְלֹ֥א and I will not wə·lō אָב֖וֹא come ’ā·ḇō·w בְּעִֽיר׃ in wrath . bə·‘îr Hosea 11:10 אַחֲרֵ֧י They will walk after ’a·ḥă·rê יֵלְכ֖וּ . . . yê·lə·ḵū יְהוָ֛ה YHWH ; Yah·weh יִשְׁאָ֑ג He will roar yiš·’āḡ כְּאַרְיֵ֣ה like a lion . kə·’ar·yêh כִּֽי־ When kî- ה֣וּא He hū יִשְׁאַ֔ג roars , yiš·’aḡ בָנִ֖ים His children ḇā·nîm וְיֶחֶרְד֥וּ will come trembling wə·ye·ḥer·ḏū מִיָּֽם׃ from the west . mî·yām Hosea 11:11 יֶחֶרְד֤וּ They will come trembling ye·ḥer·ḏū כְצִפּוֹר֙ like birds ḵə·ṣip·pō·wr מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם from Egypt mim·miṣ·ra·yim וּכְיוֹנָ֖ה and like doves ū·ḵə·yō·w·nāh מֵאֶ֣רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ אַשּׁ֑וּר of Assyria . ’aš·šūr וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּ֥ים Then I will settle them wə·hō·wō·šaḇ·tîm עַל־ in ‘al- בָּתֵּיהֶ֖ם their homes , bāt·tê·hem נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ס YHWH . Yah·weh Hosea 11:12 אֶפְרַ֔יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim סְבָבֻ֤נִי surrounds Me sə·ḇā·ḇu·nî בְכַ֙חַשׁ֙ with lies , ḇə·ḵa·ḥaš בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וּבְמִרְמָ֖ה with deceit ; ū·ḇə·mir·māh וִֽיהוּדָ֗ה but Judah wî·hū·ḏāh עֹ֥ד still ‘ōḏ רָד֙ walks rāḏ עִם־ with ‘im- אֵ֔ל God ’êl נֶאֱמָֽן׃ [and is] faithful ne·’ĕ·mān וְעִם־ to wə·‘im- קְדוֹשִׁ֖ים the Holy One . qə·ḏō·wō·šîm Hosea 12:1 אֶפְרַ֜יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim רֹעֶ֥ה chases rō·‘eh ר֙וּחַ֙ the wind rū·aḥ וְרֹדֵ֣ף and pursues wə·rō·ḏêp̄ קָדִ֔ים the east wind qā·ḏîm כָּל־ all kāl- הַיּ֕וֹם day long ; hay·yō·wm יַרְבֶּ֑ה he multiplies yar·beh כָּזָ֥ב lies kā·zāḇ וָשֹׁ֖ד and violence ; wā·šōḏ יִכְרֹ֔תוּ he makes yiḵ·rō·ṯū וּבְרִית֙ a covenant ū·ḇə·rîṯ עִם־ with ‘im- אַשּׁ֣וּר Assyria ’aš·šūr יוּבָֽל׃ and sends yū·ḇāl וְשֶׁ֖מֶן olive oil wə·še·men לְמִצְרַ֥יִם to Egypt . lə·miṣ·ra·yim Hosea 12:2 לַֽיהוָ֖ה YHWH also [brings] Yah·weh וְרִ֥יב a charge wə·rîḇ עִם־ against ‘im- יְהוּדָ֑ה Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh וְלִפְקֹ֤ד He will punish wə·lip̄·qōḏ עַֽל־ . . . ‘al- יַעֲקֹב֙ Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ כִּדְרָכָ֔יו according to his ways kiḏ·rā·ḵāw יָשִׁ֥יב and repay yā·šîḇ לֽוֹ׃ him lōw כְּמַעֲלָלָ֖יו according to his deeds . kə·ma·‘ă·lā·lāw Hosea 12:3 בַּבֶּ֖טֶן In the womb bab·be·ṭen אָחִ֑יו he grasped his brother’s ’ā·ḥîw עָקַ֣ב heel , ‘ā·qaḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וּבְאוֹנ֖וֹ and in his vigor ū·ḇə·’ō·w·nōw שָׂרָ֥ה he wrestled śā·rāh
