הָלְכ֣וּ they departed hā·lə·ḵū מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם from Me . mip·pə·nê·hem יְזַבֵּ֔חוּ They sacrificed yə·zab·bê·ḥū לַבְּעָלִ֣ים to the Baals lab·bə·‘ā·lîm יְקַטֵּרֽוּן׃ and burned incense yə·qaṭ·ṭê·rūn וְלַפְּסִלִ֖ים to carved images . wə·lap·pə·si·lîm Hosea 11:3 וְאָנֹכִ֤י It was I wə·’ā·nō·ḵî לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם who taught Ephraim lə·’ep̄·ra·yim תִרְגַּ֙לְתִּי֙ to walk , ṯir·gal·tî קָחָ֖ם taking them qā·ḥām עַל־ in ‘al- זְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑יו My arms , zə·rō·w·‘ō·ṯāw וְלֹ֥א but they never wə·lō יָדְע֖וּ realized yā·ḏə·‘ū כִּ֥י that it was I kî רְפָאתִֽים׃ who healed them . rə·p̄ā·ṯîm Hosea 11:4 אֶמְשְׁכֵם֙ I led them ’em·šə·ḵêm בְּחַבְלֵ֨י with cords bə·ḥaḇ·lê אָדָ֤ם of kindness , ’ā·ḏām בַּעֲבֹת֣וֹת with ropes ba·‘ă·ḇō·ṯō·wṯ אַהֲבָ֔ה of love ; ’a·hă·ḇāh וָאֶהְיֶ֥ה vvv wā·’eh·yeh לָהֶ֛ם vvv lā·hem כִּמְרִ֥ימֵי I lifted kim·rî·mê עֹ֖ל the yoke ‘ōl עַ֣ל from ‘al לְחֵיהֶ֑ם their necks lə·ḥê·hem וְאַ֥ט and bent down wə·’aṭ אֵלָ֖יו . . . ’ê·lāw אוֹכִֽיל׃ to feed them . ’ō·w·ḵîl Hosea 11:5 לֹ֤א Will they not lō יָשׁוּב֙ return yā·šūḇ אֶל־ to ’el- אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim מַלְכּ֑וֹ and be ruled mal·kōw וְאַשּׁ֖וּר by Assyria wə·’aš·šūr ה֣וּא . . . hū כִּ֥י because kî מֵאֲנ֖וּ they refused mê·’ă·nū לָשֽׁוּב׃ to repent ? lā·šūḇ Hosea 11:6 חֶ֙רֶב֙ A sword ḥe·reḇ וְחָלָ֥ה will flash wə·ḥā·lāh בְּעָרָ֔יו through their cities ; bə·‘ā·rāw וְכִלְּתָ֥ה it will destroy wə·ḵil·lə·ṯāh בַדָּ֖יו the bars of their gates ḇad·dāw וְאָכָ֑לָה and consume [them] wə·’ā·ḵā·lāh מִֽמֹּעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ in their own plans . mim·mō·‘ă·ṣō·w·ṯê·hem Hosea 11:7 וְעַמִּ֥י My people wə·‘am·mî תְלוּאִ֖ים are bent ṯə·lū·’îm לִמְשֽׁוּבָתִ֑י on turning from Me . lim·šū·ḇā·ṯî יִקְרָאֻ֔הוּ Though they call yiq·rā·’u·hū וְאֶל־ to wə·’el- עַל֙ the Most High , ‘al לֹ֥א He will by no means lō יַ֖חַד . . . ya·ḥaḏ יְרוֹמֵם׃ exalt them . yə·rō·mēm Hosea 11:8 אֵ֞יךְ How ’êḵ אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ could I give you up , ’et·ten·ḵā אֶפְרַ֗יִם O Ephraim ? ’ep̄·ra·yim אֲמַגֶּנְךָ֙ How could I surrender you , ’ă·mag·gen·ḵā יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל O Israel ? yiś·rā·’êl אֵ֚יךְ How ’êḵ אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ could I make ’et·ten·ḵā כְאַדְמָ֔ה you like Admah ? ḵə·’aḏ·māh אֲשִֽׂימְךָ֖ How could I treat ’ă·śî·mə·ḵā כִּצְבֹאיִ֑ם you like Zeboiim ? kiṣ·ḇō·yim לִבִּ֔י My heart lib·bî נֶהְפַּ֤ךְ is turned neh·paḵ עָלַי֙ within Me ‘ā·lay יַ֖חַד ; ya·ḥaḏ נִחוּמָֽי׃ My compassion ni·ḥū·māy נִכְמְר֥וּ is stirred ! niḵ·mə·rū Hosea 11:9 לֹ֤א I will not lō אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ execute ’e·‘ĕ·śeh חֲר֣וֹן the full fury ḥă·rō·wn אַפִּ֔י of My anger ; ’ap·pî לֹ֥א I will not lō אָשׁ֖וּב turn back ’ā·šūḇ
