Hosea 10:5 שְׁכַ֣ן The people šə·ḵan שֹֽׁמְר֑וֹן of Samaria šō·mə·rō·wn יָג֖וּרוּ will fear yā·ḡū·rū לְעֶגְלוֹת֙ for the calf lə·‘eḡ·lō·wṯ בֵּ֣ית of bêṯ אָ֔וֶן Beth-aven . ’ā·wen כִּי־ Indeed , kî- עַמּ֗וֹ its people ‘am·mōw אָבַ֨ל will mourn ’ā·ḇal עָלָ֜יו - ‘ā·lāw וּכְמָרָיו֙ with its idolatrous priests ū·ḵə·mā·rāw עָלָ֣יו — ‘ā·lāw יָגִ֔ילוּ those who rejoiced yā·ḡî·lū עַל־ in ‘al- כְּבוֹד֖וֹ its glory — kə·ḇō·w·ḏōw כִּֽי־ for kî- גָלָ֥ה it has been taken from them into exile ḡā·lāh מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ . mim·men·nū Hosea 10:6 גַּם־ Yes , gam- אוֹתוֹ֙ - ’ō·w·ṯōw יוּבָ֔ל it will be carried yū·ḇāl לְאַשּׁ֣וּר to Assyria lə·’aš·šūr מִנְחָ֖ה as tribute min·ḥāh יָרֵ֑ב to the great yā·rêḇ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ king . lə·me·leḵ אֶפְרַ֣יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim יִקָּ֔ח will be seized yiq·qāḥ בָּשְׁנָה֙ with shame ; bā·šə·nāh יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl וְיֵב֥וֹשׁ will be ashamed wə·yê·ḇō·wōš מֵעֲצָתֽוֹ׃ of its wooden idols . mê·‘ă·ṣā·ṯōw Hosea 10:7 שֹׁמְר֖וֹן Samaria šō·mə·rō·wn נִדְמֶ֥ה will be carried off niḏ·meh מַלְכָּ֑הּ [with] her king mal·kāh כְּקֶ֖צֶף like a twig kə·qe·ṣep̄ עַל־ on ‘al- פְּנֵי־ the surface pə·nê- מָֽיִם׃ of the water . mā·yim Hosea 10:8 בָּמ֣וֹת The high places bā·mō·wṯ אָ֗וֶן of Aven ’ā·wen וְנִשְׁמְד֞וּ will be destroyed — wə·niš·mə·ḏū חַטַּאת֙ [it is] the sin ḥaṭ·ṭaṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel ; yiś·rā·’êl ק֣וֹץ thorns qō·wṣ וְדַרְדַּ֔ר and thistles wə·ḏar·dar יַעֲלֶ֖ה will overgrow ya·‘ă·leh עַל־ . . . ‘al- מִזְבְּחוֹתָ֑ם their altars . miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯām וְאָמְר֤וּ Then they will say wə·’ā·mə·rū לֶֽהָרִים֙ to the mountains , le·hā·rîm כַּסּ֔וּנוּ “ Cover us ! ” kas·sū·nū וְלַגְּבָע֖וֹת and to the hills , wə·lag·gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ נִפְל֥וּ “ Fall nip̄·lū עָלֵֽינוּ׃ס on us ! ” ‘ā·lê·nū Hosea 10:9 מִימֵי֙ Since the days mî·mê הַגִּבְעָ֔ה of Gibeah hag·giḇ·‘āh חָטָ֖אתָ you have sinned , ḥā·ṭā·ṯā יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל O Israel , yiś·rā·’êl שָׁ֣ם and there šām עָמָ֔דוּ you have remained . ‘ā·mā·ḏū לֹֽא־ Did not lō- מִלְחָמָ֖ה the battle mil·ḥā·māh בַּגִּבְעָ֛ה in Gibeah bag·giḇ·‘āh תַשִּׂיגֵ֧ם overtake ṯaś·śî·ḡêm עַל־ ‘al- בְּנֵ֥י the sons bə·nê עַֽלְוָֽה׃ of iniquity ? ‘al·wāh Hosea 10:10 וְאֶסֳּרֵ֑ם I will chasten them wə·’es·so·rêm בְּאַוָּתִ֖י when I please ; bə·’aw·wā·ṯî עַמִּ֔ים nations ‘am·mîm וְאֻסְּפ֤וּ will be gathered wə·’us·sə·p̄ū עֲלֵיהֶם֙ against them ‘ă·lê·hem בְּאָסְרָ֖ם to put them in bondage bə·’ā·sə·rām לִשְׁתֵּ֥י for their double liš·tê עֵינֹתָם׃ transgression . ʿē·nō·ṯå̄m Hosea 10:11 וְאֶפְרַ֜יִם Ephraim wə·’ep̄·ra·yim מְלֻמָּדָה֙ is a well-trained mə·lum·mā·ḏāh עֶגְלָ֤ה heifer ‘eḡ·lāh אֹהַ֣בְתִּי that loves ’ō·haḇ·tî
