מִבֵּיתִ֖י from My house mib·bê·ṯî עַ֚ל for ‘al רֹ֣עַ the wickedness rō·a‘ מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם of their deeds . ma·‘al·lê·hem לֹ֤א I will no lō אוֹסֵף֙ longer ’ō·w·sêp̄ אַהֲבָתָ֔ם love them ; ’a·hă·ḇā·ṯām כָּל־ all kāl- שָׂרֵיהֶ֖ם their leaders śā·rê·hem סֹרְרִֽים׃ are rebellious . sō·rə·rîm Hosea 9:16 אֶפְרַ֔יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim הֻכָּ֣ה is struck down ; huk·kāh שָׁרְשָׁ֥ם their root šā·rə·šām יָבֵ֖שׁ is withered ; yā·ḇêš יַעֲשׂ֑וּן they cannot bear ya·‘ă·śūn פְּרִ֣י fruit . pə·rî בְלִי . . . ḇə·lī גַּ֚ם Even gam כִּ֣י if kî יֵֽלֵד֔וּן they bear children , yê·lê·ḏūn וְהֵמַתִּ֖י I will slay wə·hê·mat·tî מַחֲמַדֵּ֥י the darlings ma·ḥă·mad·dê בִטְנָֽם׃ס of their wombs . ḇiṭ·nām Hosea 9:17 אֱלֹהַ֔י My God ’ĕ·lō·hay יִמְאָסֵ֣ם will reject them yim·’ā·sêm כִּ֛י because kî לֹ֥א they have not lō שָׁמְע֖וּ obeyed šā·mə·‘ū ל֑וֹ Him ; lōw וְיִהְי֥וּ and they shall be wə·yih·yū נֹדְדִ֖ים wanderers nō·ḏə·ḏîm בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ס among the nations . bag·gō·w·yim Hosea 10:1 יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl בּוֹקֵק֙ was a luxuriant bō·w·qêq גֶּ֤פֶן vine , ge·p̄en יְשַׁוֶּה־ yielding yə·šaw·weh- פְּרִ֖י fruit pə·rî לּ֑וֹ for himself . lōw לְפִרְי֗וֹ The more his fruit lə·p̄ir·yōw כְּרֹ֣ב increased , kə·rōḇ הִרְבָּה֙ the more he increased hir·bāh לַֽמִּזְבְּח֔וֹת the altars . lam·miz·bə·ḥō·wṯ כְּט֣וֹב The better kə·ṭō·wḇ לְאַרְצ֔וֹ his land produced , lə·’ar·ṣōw הֵיטִ֖יבוּ the better he made hê·ṭî·ḇū מַצֵּבֽוֹת׃ the sacred pillars . maṣ·ṣê·ḇō·wṯ Hosea 10:2 לִבָּ֖ם Their hearts lib·bām חָלַ֥ק are devious ; ḥā·laq עַתָּ֣ה now ‘at·tāh יֶאְשָׁ֑מוּ they must bear their guilt . ye’·šā·mū ה֚וּא YHWH hū יַעֲרֹ֣ף will break down ya·‘ă·rōp̄ מִזְבְּחוֹתָ֔ם their altars miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯām יְשֹׁדֵ֖ד and demolish yə·šō·ḏêḏ מַצֵּבוֹתָֽם׃ their sacred pillars . maṣ·ṣê·ḇō·w·ṯām Hosea 10:3 כִּ֤י Surely kî עַתָּה֙ now ‘at·tāh יֹֽאמְר֔וּ they will say , yō·mə·rū לָ֑נוּ “ We have lā·nū אֵ֥ין no ’ên מֶ֖לֶךְ king , me·leḵ כִּ֣י for kî לֹ֤א we do not lō יָרֵ֙אנוּ֙ revere yā·rê·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהֹוָ֔ה YHWH . ha·šēm מַה־ What mah- וְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ can a king wə·ham·me·leḵ יַּֽעֲשֶׂה־ do ya·‘ă·śeh- לָּֽנוּ׃ for us ? ” lā·nū Hosea 10:4 דִּבְּר֣וּ They speak dib·bə·rū דְבָרִ֔ים mere words ; ḏə·ḇā·rîm שָׁ֖וְא with false šāw אָל֥וֹת oaths ’ā·lō·wṯ כָּרֹ֣ת they make kā·rōṯ בְּרִ֑ית covenants . bə·rîṯ מִשְׁפָּ֔ט So judgment miš·pāṭ וּפָרַ֤ח springs up ū·p̄ā·raḥ כָּרֹאשׁ֙ like poisonous weeds kā·rōš עַ֖ל in ‘al תַּלְמֵ֥י the furrows tal·mê שָׂדָֽי׃ of a field . śā·ḏāy
