אֶת־ with ’eṯ- אֱלֹהִֽים׃ God . ’ĕ·lō·hîm Hosea 12:4 וָיָּ֤שַׂר Yes, he struggled wāy·yā·śar אֶל־ with ’el- מַלְאָךְ֙ the angel mal·’āḵ וַיֻּכָ֔ל and prevailed ; way·yu·ḵāl בָּכָ֖ה he wept bā·ḵāh וַיִּתְחַנֶּן־ and sought His favor way·yiṯ·ḥan·nen- ל֑וֹ lōw בֵּֽית־ ; bêṯ- יִמְצָאֶ֔נּוּ he found Him yim·ṣā·’en·nū אֵל֙ at Bethel ’êl יְדַבֵּ֥ר and spoke yə·ḏab·bêr עִמָּֽנוּ׃ with Him ‘im·mā·nū וְשָׁ֖ם there — wə·šām Hosea 12:5 וַֽיהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י is the God ’ĕ·lō·hê הַצְּבָא֑וֹת of Hosts — haṣ·ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh זִכְרֽוֹ׃ is His name of renown . ziḵ·rōw Hosea 12:6 וְאַתָּ֖ה But you wə·’at·tāh תָשׁ֑וּב must return ṯā·šūḇ בֵּאלֹהֶ֣יךָ to your God , bê·lō·he·ḵā שְׁמֹ֔ר maintaining šə·mōr חֶ֤סֶד love ḥe·seḏ וּמִשְׁפָּט֙ and justice , ū·miš·pāṭ תָּמִֽיד׃ and always tā·mîḏ וְקַוֵּ֥ה waiting wə·qaw·wêh אֶל־ on ’el- אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ your God . ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā Hosea 12:7 כְּנַ֗עַן A merchant kə·na·‘an אָהֵֽב׃ loves ’ā·hêḇ לַעֲשֹׁ֥ק to defraud la·‘ă·šōq מִרְמָ֖ה with dishonest mir·māh מֹאזְנֵ֥י scales mō·zə·nê בְּיָד֛וֹ in his hands . bə·yā·ḏōw Hosea 12:8 אֶפְרַ֔יִם And Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim וַיֹּ֣אמֶר boasts : way·yō·mer אַ֣ךְ “ . . . ’aḵ עָשַׁ֔רְתִּי How rich I have become ! ‘ā·šar·tî מָצָ֥אתִי I have found mā·ṣā·ṯî א֖וֹן wealth ’ō·wn לִ֑י for myself . lî כָּל־ In all kāl- יְגִיעַ֕י my labors , yə·ḡî·‘ay יִמְצְאוּ־ they can find yim·ṣə·’ū- לִ֖י in me lî לֹ֥א no lō עָוֺ֥ן iniquity ‘ā·wōn אֲשֶׁר־ that [is] ’ă·šer- חֵֽטְא׃ sinful . ” ḥêṭ Hosea 12:9 וְאָנֹכִ֛י But I [am] wə·’ā·nō·ḵî יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā מֵאֶ֣רֶץ ever since the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt . miṣ·rā·yim אוֹשִֽׁיבְךָ֥ I will again make you dwell ’ō·wō·šî·ḇə·ḵā עֹ֛ד . . . ‘ōḏ בָאֳהָלִ֖ים in tents , ḇā·’o·hā·lîm כִּימֵ֥י as in the days kî·mê מוֹעֵֽד׃ of the appointed feast . mō·w·‘êḏ Hosea 12:10 וְדִבַּ֙רְתִּי֙ I spoke wə·ḏib·bar·tî עַל־ through ‘al- הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים the prophets han·nə·ḇî·’îm וְאָנֹכִ֖י and wə·’ā·nō·ḵî הִרְבֵּ֑יתִי multiplied hir·bê·ṯî חָז֣וֹן their visions ; ḥā·zō·wn אֲדַמֶּֽה׃ I gave parables ’ă·ḏam·meh וּבְיַ֥ד through ū·ḇə·yaḏ הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים the prophets . han·nə·ḇî·’îm Hosea 12:11 אִם־ Is there ’im- אָ֙וֶן֙ iniquity ’ā·wen גִּלְעָ֥ד [in] Gilead ? gil·‘āḏ אַךְ־ They will surely ’aḵ- הָי֔וּ come hā·yū שָׁ֣וְא to nothing . šāw
