Hosea 4:7 כְּרֻבָּ֖ם The more they multiplied , kə·rub·bām כֵּ֣ן . . . kên חָֽטְאוּ־ the more they sinned ḥā·ṭə·’ū- לִ֑י against Me ; lî אָמִֽיר׃ they exchanged ’ā·mîr כְּבוֹדָ֖ם their Glory kə·ḇō·w·ḏām בְּקָל֥וֹן for a thing of disgrace . bə·qā·lō·wn Hosea 4:8 יֹאכֵ֑לוּ They feed on yō·ḵê·lū חַטַּ֥את the sins ḥaṭ·ṭaṯ עַמִּ֖י of My people ‘am·mî יִשְׂא֥וּ and set yiś·’ū נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ their hearts nap̄·šōw וְאֶל־ on wə·’el- עֲוֺנָ֖ם iniquity . ‘ă·wō·nām Hosea 4:9 וְהָיָ֥ה And it shall be wə·hā·yāh כָעָ֖ם like people , ḵā·‘ām כַּכֹּהֵ֑ן like priest . kak·kō·hên וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י I will punish ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî עָלָיו֙ both of them ‘ā·lāw דְּרָכָ֔יו for their ways də·rā·ḵāw אָשִׁ֥יב and repay ’ā·šîḇ לֽוֹ׃ them lōw וּמַעֲלָלָ֖יו for their deeds . ū·ma·‘ă·lā·lāw Hosea 4:10 וְאָֽכְלוּ֙ They will eat wə·’ā·ḵə·lū וְלֹ֣א but not wə·lō יִשְׂבָּ֔עוּ be satisfied ; yiś·bā·‘ū הִזְנ֖וּ they will be promiscuous hiz·nū וְלֹ֣א but not wə·lō יִפְרֹ֑צוּ multiply . yip̄·rō·ṣū כִּֽי־ For kî- אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עָזְב֖וּ they have stopped ‘ā·zə·ḇū לִשְׁמֹֽר׃ obeying liš·mōr יְהוָ֥ה YHWH . Yah·weh Hosea 4:11 זְנ֛וּת Promiscuity , zə·nūṯ וְיַ֥יִן wine , wə·ya·yin וְתִיר֖וֹשׁ and new wine wə·ṯî·rō·wōš יִֽקַּֽח־ take away yiq·qaḥ- לֵֽב׃ understanding . lêḇ Hosea 4:12 עַמִּי֙ My people ‘am·mî יִשְׁאָ֔ל consult yiš·’āl בְּעֵצ֣וֹ their wooden idols , bə·‘ê·ṣōw וּמַקְל֖וֹ and their divining rods ū·maq·lōw יַגִּ֣יד inform yag·gîḏ ל֑וֹ them . lōw כִּ֣י For kî ר֤וּחַ a spirit rū·aḥ זְנוּנִים֙ of prostitution zə·nū·nîm הִתְעָ֔ה leads them astray hiṯ·‘āh וַיִּזְנ֖וּ and they have played the harlot way·yiz·nū מִתַּ֥חַת against mit·ta·ḥaṯ אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ their God . ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem Hosea 4:13 יְזַבֵּ֗חוּ They sacrifice yə·zab·bê·ḥū עַל־ on ‘al- רָאשֵׁ֨י the mountaintops rā·šê הֶהָרִ֜ים . . . he·hā·rîm יְקַטֵּ֔רוּ and burn offerings yə·qaṭ·ṭê·rū וְעַל־ on wə·‘al- הַגְּבָעוֹת֙ the hills , hag·gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ תַּ֣חַת under ta·ḥaṯ אַלּ֧וֹן oak , ’al·lō·wn וְלִבְנֶ֛ה poplar , wə·liḇ·neh וְאֵלָ֖ה and terebinth , wə·’ê·lāh כִּ֣י because kî צִלָּ֑הּ their shade ṣil·lāh ט֣וֹב is pleasant . ṭō·wḇ עַל־ And so ‘al- כֵּ֗ן . . . kên בְּנ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם your daughters bə·nō·w·ṯê·ḵem תִּזְנֶ֙ינָה֙ turn to prostitution tiz·ne·nāh וְכַלּוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם and your daughters-in-law wə·ḵal·lō·w·ṯê·ḵem תְּנָאַֽפְנָה׃ to adultery . tə·nā·’ap̄·nāh Hosea 4:14 לֹֽא־ I will not lō- אֶפְק֨וֹד punish ’ep̄·qō·wḏ עַל־ . . . ‘al- בְּנוֹתֵיכֶ֜ם your daughters bə·nō·w·ṯê·ḵem
