עַמִּי֙ are My people , ’ ‘am·mî וְה֖וּא and they wə·hū יֹאמַ֥ר will say , yō·mar אֱלֹהָֽי׃פ ‘ You are my God . ’” ’ĕ·lō·hāy Hosea 3:1 יְהוָ֜ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלַ֗י to me , ’ê·lay לֵ֣ךְ “ Go lêḵ אֱ show love ’ĕhaḇ- אִשָּׁ֔ה to your wife ’iš·šāh ע֚וֹד again , ‘ō·wḏ אֲהֻ֥בַת though she is loved ’ă·hu·ḇaṯ רֵ֖עַ by another rê·a‘ וּמְנָאָ֑פֶת and is an adulteress . ū·mə·nā·’ā·p̄eṯ כְּאַהֲבַ֤ת Love her kə·’a·hă·ḇaṯ יְהוָה֙ as YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ [loves] ’eṯ- בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl וְהֵ֗ם though they wə·hêm פֹּנִים֙ turn pō·nîm אֶל־ to ’el- אֲחֵרִ֔ים other ’ă·ḥê·rîm אֱלֹהִ֣ים gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י and offer wə·’ō·hă·ḇê אֲשִׁישֵׁ֥י raisin cakes [to idols] ’ă·šî·šê עֲנָבִֽים׃ . . . . ” ‘ă·nā·ḇîm Hosea 3:2 וָאֶכְּרֶ֣הָ So I bought her wā·’ek·kə·re·hā לִּ֔י - lî בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה for fifteen [shekels] ba·ḥă·miš·šāh עָשָׂ֖ר . . . ‘ā·śār כָּ֑סֶף of silver kā·sep̄ וְחֹ֥מֶר and a homer wə·ḥō·mer וְלֵ֥תֶךְ and a lethech wə·lê·ṯeḵ שְׂעֹרִֽים׃ . . . śə·‘ō·rîm שְׂעֹרִ֖ים of barley . śə·‘ō·rîm Hosea 3:3 וָאֹמַ֣ר Then I said wā·’ō·mar אֵלֶ֗יהָ to her , ’ê·le·hā תֵּ֣שְׁבִי “ You must live tê·šə·ḇî לִ֔י with me lî רַבִּים֙ for many rab·bîm יָמִ֤ים days ; yā·mîm לֹ֣א you must not lō תִזְנִ֔י be promiscuous ṯiz·nî וְלֹ֥א . . . wə·lō תִֽהְיִ֖י or belong to ṯih·yî לְאִ֑ישׁ another , lə·’îš וְגַם־ and wə·ḡam- אֲנִ֖י I ’ă·nî אֵלָֽיִךְ׃ will do the same for you . ” ’ê·lā·yiḵ Hosea 3:4 כִּ֣י׀ For kî בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl יֵֽשְׁבוּ֙ must live yê·šə·ḇū רַבִּ֗ים many rab·bîm יָמִ֣ים days yā·mîm אֵ֥ין without ’ên מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ king me·leḵ שָׂ֔ר or prince , śār וְאֵ֣ין without wə·’ên זֶ֖בַח sacrifice ze·ḇaḥ וְאֵ֣ין or wə·’ên מַצֵּבָ֑ה sacred pillar , maṣ·ṣê·ḇāh וְאֵ֥ין . . . wə·’ên וְאֵ֥ין and without wə·’ên אֵפ֖וֹד ephod ’ê·p̄ō·wḏ וּתְרָפִֽים׃ or idol . ū·ṯə·rā·p̄îm Hosea 3:5 אַחַ֗ר Afterward , ’a·ḥar בְּנֵ֣י the people bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl יָשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ will return yā·šu·ḇū וּבִקְשׁוּ֙ and seek ū·ḇiq·šū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם their God ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ דָּוִ֣ד and David dā·wiḏ מַלְכָּ֑ם their king . mal·kām וּפָחֲד֧וּ They will come trembling ū·p̄ā·ḥă·ḏū אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh וְאֶל־ and to wə·’el- טוּב֖וֹ His goodness ṭū·ḇōw בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית in the last bə·’a·ḥă·rîṯ הַיָּמִֽים׃פ days . hay·yā·mîm
