Daniel 8:27 וַאֲנִ֣י I , wa·’ă·nî דָנִיֵּ֗אל Daniel , ḏā·nî·yêl נִהְיֵ֤יתִי was exhausted nih·yê·ṯî וְנֶֽחֱלֵ֙יתִי֙ and lay ill wə·ne·ḥĕ·lê·ṯî יָמִ֔ים for days . yā·mîm וָאָק֕וּם Then I got up wā·’ā·qūm וָאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה and went about wā·’e·‘ĕ·śeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ מְלֶ֣אכֶת business . mə·le·ḵeṯ וָאֶשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥ם I was confounded wā·’eš·tō·w·mêm עַל־ by ‘al- הַמַּרְאֶ֖ה the vision ; ham·mar·’eh וְאֵ֥ין it was beyond wə·’ên מֵבִֽין׃פ understanding . mê·ḇîn Daniel 9:1 אַחַ֗ת In the first ’a·ḥaṯ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת year biš·naṯ לְדָרְיָ֛וֶשׁ of Darius lə·ḏā·rə·yā·weš בֶּן־ son ben- אֲחַשְׁוֵר֖וֹשׁ of Xerxes , ’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš מָדָ֑י a Mede mā·ḏāy מִזֶּ֣רַע by descent , miz·ze·ra‘ אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer הָמְלַ֔ךְ was made ruler hā·mə·laḵ עַ֖ל over ‘al מַלְכ֥וּת the kingdom mal·ḵūṯ כַּשְׂדִּֽים׃ of the Chaldeans — kaś·dîm Daniel 9:2 אַחַת֙ in the first ’a·ḥaṯ בִּשְׁנַ֤ת year biš·naṯ לְמָלְכ֔וֹ of his reign , lə·mā·lə·ḵōw אֲנִי֙ I , ’ă·nî דָּֽנִיֵּ֔אל Daniel , dā·nî·yêl בִּינֹ֖תִי understood bî·nō·ṯî בַּסְּפָרִ֑ים from the sacred books bas·sə·p̄ā·rîm מִסְפַּ֣ר - mis·par הַשָּׁנִ֗ים - haš·šā·nîm אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer הָיָ֤ה - , hā·yāh דְבַר־ according to the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh אֶל־ to ’el- יִרְמִיָ֣ה Jeremiah yir·mi·yāh הַנָּבִ֔יא the prophet , han·nā·ḇî לְחָרְב֥וֹת that the desolation lə·ḥā·rə·ḇō·wṯ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם of Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim לְמַלֹּ֛אות would last lə·mal·lō·wṯ שִׁבְעִ֥ים seventy šiḇ·‘îm שָׁנָֽה׃ years . šā·nāh Daniel 9:3 וָאֶתְּנָ֣ה So I turned my attention wā·’et·tə·nāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פָּנַ֗י - pā·nay אֶל־ to ’el- אֲדֹנָי֙ the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ to seek Him lə·ḇaq·qêš תְּפִלָּ֖ה by prayer tə·p̄il·lāh וְתַחֲנוּנִ֑ים and petition , wə·ṯa·ḥă·nū·nîm בְּצ֖וֹם with fasting , bə·ṣō·wm וְשַׂ֥ק sackcloth , wə·śaq וָאֵֽפֶר׃ and ashes . wā·’ê·p̄er Daniel 9:4 וָֽאֶתְפַּֽלְלָ֛ה And I prayed wā·’eṯ·pal·lāh לַיהוָ֥ה to YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהַ֖י my God ’ĕ·lō·hay וָאֶתְוַדֶּ֑ה and confessed wā·’eṯ·wad·deh וָאֹֽמְרָ֗ה . . . , wā·’ō·mə·rāh אָנָּ֤א “ O , ’ān·nā אֲדֹנָי֙ Lord , ’ă·ḏō·nāy הַגָּדוֹל֙ the great hag·gā·ḏō·wl וְהַנּוֹרָ֔א and awesome wə·han·nō·w·rā הָאֵ֤ל God , hā·’êl שֹׁמֵ֤ר who keeps šō·mêr הַבְּרִית֙ His covenant hab·bə·rîṯ וְֽהַחֶ֔סֶד of loving devotion wə·ha·ḥe·seḏ לְאֹהֲבָ֖יו to those who love Him lə·’ō·hă·ḇāw וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י and keep ū·lə·šō·mə·rê מִצְוֺתָֽיו׃ His commandments , miṣ·wō·ṯāw Daniel 9:5 חָטָ֥אנוּ we have sinned ḥā·ṭā·nū וְעָוִ֖ינוּ and done wrong . wə·‘ā·wî·nū וְהִרְשַׁעְנוּ We have acted wickedly wə·hir·šaʿ·nū וּמָרָ֑דְנוּ and rebelled . ū·mā·rā·ḏə·nū וְס֥וֹר We have turned away wə·sō·wr מִמִּצְוֺתֶ֖ךָ from Your commandments mim·miṣ·wō·ṯe·ḵā וּמִמִּשְׁפָּטֶֽיךָ׃ and ordinances . ū·mim·miš·pā·ṭe·ḵā
