עֲל֑וֹהִי . . . ‘ă·lō·w·hî וְרַבְרְבָנ֖וֹהִי and his nobles wə·raḇ·rə·ḇā·nō·w·hî מִֽשְׁתַּבְּשִֽׁין׃ were bewildered . miš·tab·bə·šîn Daniel 5:10 לָקֳבֵ֨ל Hearing lā·qo·ḇêl מִלֵּ֤י the outcry mil·lê מַלְכָּא֙ of the king mal·kā וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי and his nobles , wə·raḇ·rə·ḇā·nō·w·hî מַלְכְּתָ֕א the queen mal·kə·ṯā עַלֲלַת entered ʿa·lă·laṯ מִשְׁתְּיָ֖א the banquet miš·tə·yā לְבֵ֥ית hall . lə·ḇêṯ מַלְכָּא֙ “ O king , mal·kā חֱיִ֔י may you live ḥĕ·yî לְעָלְמִ֣ין forever ! ” lə·‘ā·lə·mîn עֲנָ֨ת - ‘ă·nāṯ מַלְכְּתָ֜א [she] mal·kə·ṯā וַאֲמֶ֗רֶת said . wa·’ă·me·reṯ אַֽל־ “ Do not ’al- רַעְיוֹנָ֔ךְ let your thoughts ra‘·yō·w·nāḵ יְבַהֲלוּךְ֙ terrify you , yə·ḇa·hă·lūḵ וְזִיוָ֖יךְ or your face wə·zî·wāyḵ אַל־ . . . ’al- יִשְׁתַּנּֽוֹ׃ grow pale . yiš·tan·nōw Daniel 5:11 אִיתַ֨י There is ’î·ṯay גְּבַ֜ר a man gə·ḇar בְּמַלְכוּתָ֗ךְ in your kingdom bə·mal·ḵū·ṯāḵ דִּ֠י who dî ר֣וּחַ has the spirit rū·aḥ קַדִּישִׁין֮ of the holy qad·dî·šîn אֱלָהִ֣ין gods ’ĕ·lā·hîn בֵּהּ֒ in him . bêh וּבְיוֹמֵ֣י In the days ū·ḇə·yō·w·mê אֲב֗וּךְ of your father ’ă·ḇūḵ הִשְׁתְּכַ֣חַת he was found hiš·tə·ḵa·ḥaṯ בֵּ֑הּ bêh נַהִיר֧וּ to have insight , na·hî·rū וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֛וּ intelligence , wə·śā·ḵə·lə·ṯā·nū וְחָכְמָ֥ה and wisdom wə·ḥā·ḵə·māh כְּחָכְמַת־ like [that] kə·ḥā·ḵə·maṯ- אֱלָהִ֖ין of the gods . ’ĕ·lā·hîn אֲב֔וּךְ Your father , ’ă·ḇūḵ וּמַלְכָּ֤א King ū·mal·kā נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּר֙ Nebuchadnezzar , nə·ḇu·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar הֲקִימֵ֖הּ appointed him hă·qî·mêh רַ֧ב chief raḇ חַרְטֻמִּ֣ין of the magicians , ḥar·ṭum·mîn אָֽשְׁפִ֗ין enchanters , ’ā·šə·p̄în כַּשְׂדָּאִין֙ astrologers , kaś·dā·’în גָּזְרִ֔ין [and] diviners . gā·zə·rîn אֲב֥וּךְ Your own father , ’ă·ḇūḵ מַלְכָּֽא׃ the king , mal·kā Daniel 5:12 כָּל־ did this kāl- קֳבֵ֡ל because qo·ḇêl דִּ֣י . . . dî בְּדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל Daniel , bə·ḏā·nî·yêl דִּֽי־ the one dî- מַלְכָּ֥א [he] mal·kā שָׂם־ named śām- שְׁמֵ֖הּ . . . šə·mêh בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֑ר Belteshazzar , bê·lə·ṭə·šaṣ·ṣar הִשְׁתְּכַ֤חַת was found hiš·tə·ḵa·ḥaṯ בֵּהּ֙ bêh יַתִּירָ֡ה to have an extraordinary yat·tî·rāh ר֣וּחַ׀ spirit , rū·aḥ וּמַנְדַּ֡ע as well as knowledge , ū·man·da‘ וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֡וּ understanding , wə·śā·ḵə·lə·ṯā·nū מְפַשַּׁ֣ר and the ability to interpret mə·p̄aš·šar חֶלְמִין֩ dreams , ḥel·mîn וַֽאַֽחֲוָיַ֨ת explain wa·’a·ḥă·wā·yaṯ אֲחִידָ֜ן riddles , ’ă·ḥî·ḏān וּמְשָׁרֵ֣א and solve ū·mə·šā·rê קִטְרִ֗ין difficult problems . qiṭ·rîn יִתְקְרֵ֖י Summon yiṯ·qə·rê דָּנִיֵּ֥אל Daniel , dā·nî·yêl כְּעַ֛ן therefore , kə·‘an יְהַֽחֲוֵֽה׃פ and he will give you yə·ha·ḥă·wêh וּפִשְׁרָ֥ה the interpretation . ” ū·p̄iš·rāh Daniel 5:13 בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ So bê·ḏa·yin דָּֽנִיֵּ֔אל Daniel dā·nî·yêl הֻעַ֖ל was brought hu·‘al קֳדָ֣ם before qo·ḏām מַלְכָּ֑א the king , mal·kā עָנֵ֨ה . . . ‘ā·nêh מַלְכָּ֜א [who] mal·kā וְאָמַ֣ר asked wə·’ā·mar לְדָנִיֵּ֗אל him , lə·ḏā·nî·yêl אַנְתָּה “ Are you ʾan·tå̄h ה֤וּא . . . hū
