שְׁבֻ֔קוּ leave šə·ḇu·qū עִקַּ֤ר the stump ‘iq·qar שָׁרְשׁ֙וֹהִי֙ with its roots šā·rə·šō·w·hî בְּאַרְעָ֣א in the ground , bə·’ar·‘ā וּבֶאֱסוּר֙ and a band ū·ḇe·’ĕ·sūr דִּֽי־ of dî- פַרְזֶ֣ל iron p̄ar·zel וּנְחָ֔שׁ and bronze [around it] , ū·nə·ḥāš בְּדִתְאָ֖א in the tender grass bə·ḏiṯ·’ā דִּ֣י of dî בָרָ֑א the field . ḇā·rā יִצְטַבַּ֗ע Let him be drenched yiṣ·ṭab·ba‘ וּבְטַ֧ל with the dew ū·ḇə·ṭal שְׁמַיָּ֣א of heaven , šə·may·yā חֲלָקֵ֔הּ and graze ḥă·lā·qêh וְעִם־ with wə·‘im- חֵיוַ֤ת the beasts ḥê·waṯ בָּרָא֙ of the field bā·rā עַ֛ד till ‘aḏ דִּֽי־ . . . dî- שִׁבְעָ֥ה seven šiḇ·‘āh עִדָּנִ֖ין times ‘id·dā·nîn יַחְלְפ֥וּן pass him yaḥ·lə·p̄ūn עֲלֽוֹהִי׃ by . ’ ‘ă·lō·w·hî Daniel 4:24 דְּנָ֥ה This də·nāh פִשְׁרָ֖א is the interpretation , p̄iš·rā מַלְכָּ֑א O king , mal·kā וּגְזֵרַ֤ת and this is the decree ū·ḡə·zê·raṯ עִלָּיָא that the Most High ʿil·lå̄·yå̄ הִ֔יא . . . hî דִּ֥י - dî מְטָ֖ת has issued mə·ṭāṯ עַל־ against ‘al- מַרְאִי my lord mar·ʾī מַלְכָּֽא׃ the king : mal·kā Daniel 4:25 וְלָ֣ךְ wə·lāḵ טָֽרְדִ֣ין You will be driven away ṭā·rə·ḏîn מִן־ from min- אֲנָשָׁ֡א mankind , ’ă·nā·šā מְדֹרָ֜ךְ and your dwelling mə·ḏō·rāḵ לֶהֱוֵ֨ה will be le·hĕ·wêh וְעִם־ with wə·‘im- חֵיוַ֣ת the beasts ḥê·waṯ בָּרָא֩ of the field . bā·rā יְטַֽעֲמ֗וּן You will feed on yə·ṭa·‘ă·mūn וְעִשְׂבָּ֥א grass wə·‘iś·bā כְתוֹרִ֣ין׀ like an ox ḵə·ṯō·w·rîn לָ֣ךְ lāḵ לָ֣ךְ lāḵ מְצַבְּעִ֔ין and be drenched mə·ṣab·bə·‘în וּמִטַּ֤ל with the dew ū·miṭ·ṭal שְׁמַיָּא֙ of heaven , šə·may·yā וְשִׁבְעָ֥ה and seven wə·šiḇ·‘āh עִדָּנִ֖ין times ‘id·dā·nîn יַחְלְפ֣וּן shall pass yaḥ·lə·p̄ūn עֲלָ֑יךְ you by , ʿă·lå̄yḵ עַ֣ד until ‘aḏ דִּֽי־ . . . dî- תִנְדַּ֗ע you acknowledge ṯin·da‘ דִּֽי־ that dî- עִלָּיאָ֙ the Most High ʿil·lå̄y·ʾå̄ שַׁלִּ֤יט rules šal·lîṭ בְּמַלְכ֣וּת over the kingdom bə·mal·ḵūṯ אֲנָשָׁ֔א of mankind ’ă·nā·šā יִתְּנִנַּֽהּ׃ and gives it yit·tə·nin·nah וּלְמַן־ to whom ū·lə·man- דִּ֥י . . . dî יִצְבֵּ֖א He wishes . yiṣ·bê Daniel 4:26 וְדִ֣י As for wə·ḏî אֲמַ֗רוּ the command ’ă·ma·rū לְמִשְׁבַּ֞ק to leave lə·miš·baq עִקַּ֤ר the stump ‘iq·qar דִּ֣י of dî אִֽילָנָ֔א the tree ’î·lā·nā שָׁרְשׁ֙וֹהִי֙ with its roots , šā·rə·šō·w·hî מַלְכוּתָ֖ךְ your kingdom mal·ḵū·ṯāḵ לָ֣ךְ lāḵ קַיָּמָ֑ה will be restored qay·yā·māh מִן־ to you min- דִּ֣י as soon as dî תִנְדַּ֔ע you acknowledge ṯin·da‘ דִּ֥י that dî שְׁמַיָּֽא׃ Heaven šə·may·yā שַׁלִּטִ֖ן rules . šal·li·ṭin Daniel 4:27 לָהֵ֣ן Therefore , lā·hên מִלְכִּי֙ may my advice mil·kî יִשְׁפַּ֣ר be pleasing yiš·par עֲלַיִךְ to you , ʿă·la·yiḵ
