Daniel 4:9 בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּר֮ “ O Belteshazzar , bê·lə·ṭə·šaṣ·ṣar רַ֣ב chief raḇ חַרְטֻמַיָּא֒ of the magicians , ḥar·ṭu·may·yā דִּ֣י׀ - dî אֲנָ֣ה I ’ă·nāh יִדְעֵ֗ת know yiḏ·‘êṯ דִּ֠י that dî ר֣וּחַ the spirit rū·aḥ קַדִּישִׁין֙ of the holy qad·dî·šîn אֱלָהִ֤ין gods ’ĕ·lā·hîn בָּ֔ךְ [is] in you bāḵ וְכָל־ and that wə·ḵāl לָא־ no lā- רָ֖ז mystery rāz אָנֵ֣ס baffles ’ā·nês לָ֑ךְ you . lāḵ אֱמַֽר׃ [So] explain to me ’ĕ·mar חֶזְוֵ֨י the visions ḥez·wê דִֽי־ - ḏî- חֲזֵ֛ית I saw ḥă·zêṯ חֶלְמִ֧י in my dream , ḥel·mî וּפִשְׁרֵ֖הּ and their interpretation . ū·p̄iš·rêh Daniel 4:10 וְחֶזְוֵ֥י In these visions wə·ḥez·wê רֵאשִׁ֖י of my mind rê·šî עַֽל־ as I was lying ‘al- מִשְׁכְּבִ֑י in bed , miš·kə·ḇî חָזֵ֣ה I saw this ḥā·zêh הֲוֵ֔ית come to pass : hă·wêṯ וַאֲל֥וּ There was wa·’ă·lū אִילָ֛ן a tree ’î·lān בְּג֥וֹא in the midst bə·ḡō·w אַרְעָ֖א of the land , ’ar·‘ā וְרוּמֵ֥הּ and its height wə·rū·mêh שַׂגִּֽיא׃ was great . śag·gî Daniel 4:11 אִֽילָנָ֖א The tree ’î·lā·nā רְבָ֥ה grew large rə·ḇāh וּתְקִ֑ף and strong ; ū·ṯə·qip̄ וְרוּמֵהּ֙ its top wə·rū·mêh יִמְטֵ֣א reached yim·ṭê לִשְׁמַיָּ֔א the sky , liš·may·yā וַחֲזוֹתֵ֖הּ and it was visible wa·ḥă·zō·w·ṯêh לְס֥וֹף to the ends lə·sō·wp̄ כָּל־ . . . kāl- אַרְעָֽא׃ of the earth . ’ar·‘ā Daniel 4:12 עָפְיֵ֤הּ Its leaves ‘ā·p̄ə·yêh שַׁפִּיר֙ were beautiful , šap·pîr וְאִנְבֵּ֣הּ its fruit wə·’in·bêh שַׂגִּ֔יא was abundant , śag·gî בֵ֑הּ and upon it ḇêh וּמָז֨וֹן was food ū·mā·zō·wn לְכֹ֖לָּא־ for all . lə·ḵōl·lā- תְּחֹת֜וֹהִי Under it tə·ḥō·ṯō·w·hî חֵיוַ֣ת the beasts ḥê·waṯ בָּרָ֗א of the field bā·rā תַּטְלֵ֣ל׀ found shelter , taṭ·lêl וּבְעַנְפ֙וֹהִי֙ in its branches ū·ḇə·‘an·p̄ō·w·hî צִפֲּרֵ֣י the birds ṣip·pă·rê שְׁמַיָּ֔א of the air šə·may·yā יְדֻרוּן nested , yə·ḏu·rūn וּמִנֵּ֖הּ and from it ū·min·nêh כָּל־ every kāl- בִּשְׂרָֽא׃ creature biś·rā יִתְּזִ֥ין was fed . yit·tə·zîn Daniel 4:13 עַֽל־ As I lay ‘al- מִשְׁכְּבִ֑י on my bed , miš·kə·ḇî וַאֲלוּ֙ . . . wa·’ă·lū חָזֵ֥ה I also saw ḥā·zêh הֲוֵ֛ית . . . hă·wêṯ בְּחֶזְוֵ֥י in the visions bə·ḥez·wê רֵאשִׁ֖י of my mind rê·šî עִ֣יר a watcher , ‘îr וְקַדִּ֔ישׁ a holy one , wə·qad·dîš נָחִֽת׃ coming down nā·ḥiṯ מִן־ from min- שְׁמַיָּ֖א heaven . šə·may·yā Daniel 4:14 קָרֵ֨א He called out qā·rê בְחַ֜יִל in a loud voice ḇə·ḥa·yil וְכֵ֣ן . . . wə·ḵên אָמַ֗ר . . . : ’ā·mar גֹּ֤דּוּ ‘ Cut down gōd·dū אִֽילָנָא֙ the tree ’î·lā·nā וְקַצִּ֣צוּ and chop off wə·qaṣ·ṣi·ṣū עַנְפ֔וֹהִי its branches ; ‘an·p̄ō·w·hî
