מ֥וֹת must surely mō·wṯ יוּמָֽת׃ be put to death . yū·māṯ Exodus 21:16 וְגֹנֵ֨ב Whoever kidnaps wə·ḡō·nêḇ אִ֧ישׁ another man ’îš מ֥וֹת must be put to death mō·wṯ יוּמָֽת׃ס . . . , yū·māṯ וּמְכָר֛וֹ whether he sells him ū·mə·ḵā·rōw וְנִמְצָ֥א or the man is found wə·nim·ṣā בְיָד֖וֹ in his possession . ḇə·yā·ḏōw Exodus 21:17 וּמְקַלֵּ֥ל Anyone who curses ū·mə·qal·lêl אָבִ֛יו his father ’ā·ḇîw וְאִמּ֖וֹ or mother wə·’im·mōw מ֥וֹת must surely mō·wṯ יוּמָֽת׃ס be put to death . yū·māṯ Exodus 21:18 וְכִֽי־ If wə·ḵî- אֲנָשִׁ֔ים men ’ă·nā·šîm יְרִיבֻ֣ן are quarreling yə·rî·ḇun אִישׁ֙ and one ’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְהִכָּה־ strikes wə·hik·kāh- רֵעֵ֔הוּ the other rê·‘ê·hū בְּאֶ֖בֶן with a stone bə·’e·ḇen א֣וֹ or ’ōw בְאֶגְרֹ֑ף a fist , ḇə·’eḡ·rōp̄ וְלֹ֥א and he does not wə·lō יָמ֖וּת die yā·mūṯ וְנָפַ֥ל but is confined wə·nā·p̄al לְמִשְׁכָּֽב׃ to bed , lə·miš·kāḇ Exodus 21:19 הַמַּכֶּ֑ה then the one who struck him ham·mak·keh וְנִקָּ֣ה shall go unpunished , wə·niq·qāh אִם־ as long as ’im- יָק֞וּם the other can get up yā·qūm וְהִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ and walk around wə·hiṯ·hal·lêḵ בַּח֛וּץ outside ba·ḥūṣ עַל־ with ‘al- מִשְׁעַנְתּ֖וֹ his staff . miš·‘an·tōw רַ֥ק Nevertheless , raq יִתֵּ֖ן he must compensate yit·tên שִׁבְתּ֛וֹ the man for his lost work šiḇ·tōw וְרַפֹּ֥א and see that he is completely wə·rap·pō יְרַפֵּֽא׃ס healed . yə·rap·pê Exodus 21:20 וְכִֽי־ If wə·ḵî- אִ֨ישׁ a man ’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יַכֶּה֩ strikes yak·keh עַבְדּ֜וֹ his manservant ‘aḇ·dōw א֤וֹ or ’ōw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲמָתוֹ֙ maidservant ’ă·mā·ṯōw בַּשֵּׁ֔בֶט with a rod , baš·šê·ḇeṭ וּמֵ֖ת and the servant dies ū·mêṯ תַּ֣חַת by ta·ḥaṯ יָד֑וֹ his hand , yā·ḏōw נָקֹ֖ם he shall surely nā·qōm יִנָּקֵֽם׃ be punished . yin·nā·qêm Exodus 21:21 אַ֥ךְ However , ’aḵ אִם־ if ’im- יַעֲמֹ֑ד [the servant] gets up ya·‘ă·mōḏ י֛וֹם after a day yō·wm א֥וֹ or ’ōw יוֹמַ֖יִם two , yō·w·ma·yim לֹ֣א the owner shall not lō יֻקַּ֔ם be punished , yuq·qam כִּ֥י since kî הֽוּא׃ס [the servant is] hū כַסְפּ֖וֹ his property . ḵas·pōw Exodus 21:22 וְכִֽי־ If wə·ḵî- אֲנָשִׁ֗ים men ’ă·nā·šîm יִנָּצ֣וּ who are fighting yin·nā·ṣū וְנָ֨גְפ֜וּ strike wə·nā·ḡə·p̄ū הָרָה֙ a pregnant hā·rāh אִשָּׁ֤ה woman ’iš·šāh יְלָדֶ֔יהָ and her child yə·lā·ḏe·hā וְיָצְא֣וּ is born prematurely , wə·yā·ṣə·’ū יִהְיֶ֖ה but there is yih·yeh וְלֹ֥א no [further] wə·lō אָס֑וֹן injury , ’ā·sō·wn עָנ֣וֹשׁ he shall surely be fined ‘ā·nō·wōš יֵעָנֵ֗שׁ . . . yê·‘ā·nêš
