Exodus 21:1 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ [“] These wə·’êl·leh הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים are the ordinances ham·miš·pā·ṭîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer תָּשִׂ֖ים you are to set tā·śîm לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ before them : lip̄·nê·hem Exodus 21:2 כִּ֤י If kî תִקְנֶה֙ you buy ṯiq·neh עִבְרִ֔י a Hebrew ‘iḇ·rî עֶ֣בֶד servant , ‘e·ḇeḏ יַעֲבֹ֑ד he is to serve you ya·‘ă·ḇōḏ שֵׁ֥שׁ for six šêš שָׁנִ֖ים years . šā·nîm וּבַ֨שְּׁבִעִ֔ת But in the seventh [year] , ū·ḇaš·šə·ḇi·‘iṯ יֵצֵ֥א he shall go yê·ṣê לַֽחָפְשִׁ֖י free la·ḥā·p̄ə·šî חִנָּֽם׃ without paying anything . ḥin·nām Exodus 21:3 אִם־ If ’im- יָבֹ֖א he arrived alone yā·ḇō בְּגַפּ֥וֹ . . . , bə·ḡap·pōw יֵצֵ֑א he is to leave alone yê·ṣê בְּגַפּ֣וֹ . . . ; bə·ḡap·pōw אִם־ if ’im- בַּ֤עַל . . . ba·‘al ה֔וּא he hū אִשָּׁה֙ arrived with a wife , ’iš·šāh אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ [she] ’iš·tōw וְיָצְאָ֥ה is to leave wə·yā·ṣə·’āh עִמּֽוֹ׃ with him . ‘im·mōw Exodus 21:4 אִם־ If ’im- אֲדֹנָיו֙ his master ’ă·ḏō·nāw יִתֶּן־ gives yit·ten- ל֣וֹ him lōw אִשָּׁ֔ה a wife ’iš·šāh וְיָלְדָה־ and she bears wə·yā·lə·ḏāh- ל֥וֹ him lōw בָנִ֖ים sons ḇā·nîm א֣וֹ or ’ōw בָנ֑וֹת daughters , ḇā·nō·wṯ הָאִשָּׁ֣ה the woman hā·’iš·šāh וִילָדֶ֗יהָ and her children wî·lā·ḏe·hā תִּהְיֶה֙ shall belong to tih·yeh לַֽאדֹנֶ֔יהָ her master , la·ḏō·ne·hā וְה֖וּא and [only] the man wə·hū יֵצֵ֥א shall go free yê·ṣê בְגַפּֽוֹ׃ . . . . ḇə·ḡap·pōw Exodus 21:5 וְאִם־ But if wə·’im- הָעֶ֔בֶד the servant hā·‘e·ḇeḏ אָמֹ֤ר declares ’ā·mōr יֹאמַר֙ . . . , yō·mar אָהַ֙בְתִּי֙ ‘ I love ’ā·haḇ·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲדֹנִ֔י my master ’ă·ḏō·nî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אִשְׁתִּ֖י and my wife ’iš·tî וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בָּנָ֑י and children ; bā·nāy לֹ֥א I do not lō אֵצֵ֖א want to go ’ê·ṣê חָפְשִֽׁי׃ free , ’ ḥā·p̄ə·šî Exodus 21:6 אֲדֹנָיו֙ then his master ’ă·ḏō·nāw וְהִגִּישׁ֤וֹ is to bring him wə·hig·gî·šōw אֶל־ before ’el- הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים the judges . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וְהִגִּישׁוֹ֙ And he shall take him wə·hig·gî·šōw אֶל־ to ’el- הַדֶּ֔לֶת the door had·de·leṯ א֖וֹ or ’ōw אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַמְּזוּזָ֑ה doorpost ham·mə·zū·zāh אֲדֹנָ֤יו - ’ă·ḏō·nāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְרָצַ֨ע and pierce wə·rā·ṣa‘ אָזְנוֹ֙ his ear ’ā·zə·nōw בַּמַּרְצֵ֔עַ with an awl . bam·mar·ṣê·a‘ וַעֲבָד֖וֹ Then he shall serve his master wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏōw לְעֹלָֽם׃ס for life . lə·‘ō·lām Exodus 21:7 וְכִֽי־ And if wə·ḵî- אִ֛ישׁ a man ’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִמְכֹּ֥ר sells yim·kōr בִּתּ֖וֹ his daughter bit·tōw לְאָמָ֑ה as a servant , lə·’ā·māh
