חַיַּ֣ת living creature ḥay·yaṯ הָאָ֔רֶץ on the earth , hā·’ā·reṣ וְעַ֖ל . . . wə·‘al כָּל־ every kāl- ע֣וֹף bird ‘ō·wp̄ הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם of the air , haš·šā·mā·yim בְּכֹל֩ every bə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁ֨ר creature that ’ă·šer תִּרְמֹ֧שׂ crawls tir·mōś הָֽאֲדָמָ֛ה on the ground , hā·’ă·ḏā·māh וּֽבְכָל־ and all ū·ḇə·ḵāl דְּגֵ֥י the fish də·ḡê הַיָּ֖ם of the sea . hay·yām נִתָּֽנוּ׃ They are delivered nit·tā·nū בְּיֶדְכֶ֥ם into your hand . bə·yeḏ·ḵem Genesis 9:3 כָּל־ Everything kāl- חַ֔י that lives ḥay רֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ [and] moves re·meś אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הוּא־ - hū- יִהְיֶ֖ה will be yih·yeh לְאָכְלָ֑ה food lə·’āḵ·lāh לָכֶ֥ם for you ; lā·ḵem כְּיֶ֣רֶק just as I gave you the green kə·ye·req עֵ֔שֶׂב plants , ‘ê·śeḇ נָתַ֥תִּי I now give nā·ṯat·tî לָכֶ֖ם you lā·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כֹּֽל׃ all things . kōl Genesis 9:4 אַךְ־ But ’aḵ- לֹ֥א you must not lō תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ eat ṯō·ḵê·lū בָּשָׂ֕ר meat bā·śār בְּנַפְשׁ֥וֹ with its lifeblood bə·nap̄·šōw דָמ֖וֹ [still] in it . ḏā·mōw Genesis 9:5 וְאַ֨ךְ And surely wə·’aḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶדְרֹ֔שׁ I will require ’eḏ·rōš מִיַּ֥ד . . . mî·yaḏ כָּל־ the life of any kāl- הָֽאָדָ֗ם man hā·’ā·ḏām חַיָּ֖ה or beast ḥay·yāh אֶדְרְשֶׁ֑נּוּ - ’eḏ·rə·šen·nū וּמִיַּ֣ד - ū·mî·yaḏ מִיַּד֙ by whose hand mî·yaḏ לְנַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ your lifeblood [is shed] lə·nap̄·šō·ṯê·ḵem דִּמְכֶ֤ם . . . . dim·ḵem אֶדְרֹ֖שׁ I will demand an accounting ’eḏ·rōš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָֽאָדָֽם׃ from anyone hā·’ā·ḏām נֶ֥פֶשׁ [who takes] the life ne·p̄eš אִ֣ישׁ of his fellow man ’îš אָחִ֔יו . . . : ’ā·ḥîw Genesis 9:6 שֹׁפֵךְ֙ Whoever sheds šō·p̄êḵ דַּ֣ם the blood dam הָֽאָדָ֔ם of man , hā·’ā·ḏām בָּֽאָדָ֖ם by man bā·’ā·ḏām דָּמ֣וֹ his blood dā·mōw יִשָּׁפֵ֑ךְ will be shed ; yiš·šā·p̄êḵ כִּ֚י for kî אֱלֹהִ֔ים in His own ’ĕ·lō·hîm בְּצֶ֣לֶם image bə·ṣe·lem עָשָׂ֖ה God has made ‘ā·śāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָדָֽם׃ mankind . hā·’ā·ḏām Genesis 9:7 וְאַתֶּ֖ם But as for you , wə·’at·tem פְּר֣וּ be fruitful pə·rū וּרְב֑וּ and multiply ; ū·rə·ḇū שִׁרְצ֥וּ spread out šir·ṣū בָאָ֖רֶץ across the earth ḇā·’ā·reṣ וּרְבוּ־ and multiply ū·rə·ḇū- בָֽהּ׃ס upon it . ” ḇāh Genesis 9:8 אֱלֹהִים֙ Then God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- נֹ֔חַ Noah nō·aḥ וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- בָּנָ֥יו and his sons bā·nāw אִתּ֖וֹ with him , ’it·tōw לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . lê·mōr
