Ezekiel 33:6 כִּֽי־ But if kî- וְ֠הַצֹּפֶה the watchman wə·haṣ·ṣō·p̄eh יִרְאֶ֨ה sees yir·’eh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַחֶ֜רֶב the sword ha·ḥe·reḇ בָּאָ֗ה coming bā·’āh וְלֹֽא־ and fails wə·lō- תָקַ֤ע to blow ṯā·qa‘ בַּשּׁוֹפָר֙ the horn baš·šō·w·p̄ār לֹֽא־ - lō- נִזְהָ֔ר to warn niz·hār וְהָעָ֣ם the people , wə·hā·‘ām חֶ֔רֶב and the sword ḥe·reḇ וַתָּב֣וֹא comes wat·tā·ḇō·w וַתִּקַּ֥ח and takes away wat·tiq·qaḥ מֵהֶ֖ם . . . mê·hem נָ֑פֶשׁ a life , nā·p̄eš ה֚וּא then that one hū נִלְקָ֔ח will be taken away nil·qāḥ בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ in his iniquity , ba·‘ă·wō·nōw הַצֹּפֶ֥ה but I will hold the watchman haṣ·ṣō·p̄eh אֶדְרֹֽשׁ׃ס accountable ’eḏ·rōš וְדָמ֖וֹ for his blood wə·ḏā·mōw מִיַּֽד־ . . . . ’ mî·yaḏ- Ezekiel 33:7 וְאַתָּ֣ה As for you , wə·’at·tāh בֶן־ O son ḇen- אָדָ֔ם of man , ’ā·ḏām נְתַתִּ֖יךָ I have made nə·ṯat·tî·ḵā צֹפֶ֥ה you a watchman ṣō·p̄eh לְבֵ֣ית for the house lə·ḇêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel ; yiś·rā·’êl וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤ so hear wə·šā·ma‘·tā דָּבָ֔ר the word dā·ḇār מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ from mim·men·nî מִפִּי֙ My mouth mip·pî וְהִזְהַרְתָּ֥ and give them the warning from Me wə·hiz·har·tā אֹתָ֖ם . ’ō·ṯām Ezekiel 33:8 בְּאָמְרִ֣י If I say bə·’ā·mə·rî לָרָשָׁ֗ע to the wicked , lā·rā·šā‘ רָשָׁע֙ ‘ O wicked [man] , rā·šā‘ מ֣וֹת you will surely die mō·wṯ תָּמ֔וּת . . . , ’ tā·mūṯ וְלֹ֣א but you do not wə·lō דִבַּ֔רְתָּ speak out ḏib·bar·tā לְהַזְהִ֥יר to dissuade lə·haz·hîr רָשָׁ֖ע him rā·šā‘ מִדַּרְכּ֑וֹ from his way , mid·dar·kōw ה֤וּא then that hū רָשָׁע֙ wicked [man] rā·šā‘ יָמ֔וּת will die yā·mūṯ בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ in his iniquity , ba·‘ă·wō·nōw מִיָּדְךָ֥ yet I will hold you accountable for mî·yā·ḏə·ḵā אֲבַקֵּֽשׁ׃ . . . ’ă·ḇaq·qêš וְדָמ֖וֹ his blood . wə·ḏā·mōw Ezekiel 33:9 כִּֽי־ But if kî- וְ֠אַתָּה you wə·’at·tāh הִזְהַ֨רְתָּ warn hiz·har·tā רָשָׁ֤ע the wicked [man] rā·šā‘ לָשׁ֣וּב to turn lā·šūḇ מִמֶּ֔נָּה mim·men·nāh מִדַּרְכּוֹ֙ from his way , mid·dar·kōw וְלֹא־ and he does not wə·lō- שָׁ֖ב turn šāḇ מִדַּרְכּ֑וֹ from it , mid·dar·kōw ה֚וּא he hū יָמ֔וּת will die yā·mūṯ בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ in his iniquity , ba·‘ă·wō·nōw וְאַתָּ֖ה but you wə·’at·tāh הִצַּֽלְתָּ׃ס will have saved hiṣ·ṣal·tā נַפְשְׁךָ֥ your life . nap̄·šə·ḵā Ezekiel 33:10 וְאַתָּ֣ה Now as for you , wə·’at·tāh בֶן־ son ḇen- אָדָ֗ם of man , ’ā·ḏām אֱמֹר֙ tell ’ĕ·mōr אֶל־ - ’el- בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl כֵּ֤ן that this is what kên אֲמַרְתֶּם֙ [they] have said ’ă·mar·tem לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr כִּֽי־ . . . : kî- פְשָׁעֵ֥ינוּ ‘ Our transgressions p̄ə·šā·‘ê·nū וְחַטֹּאתֵ֖ינוּ and our sins wə·ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯê·nū עָלֵ֑ינוּ are heavy ‘ā·lê·nū וּבָ֛ם upon us , ū·ḇām אֲנַ֥חְנוּ and we ’ă·naḥ·nū נְמַקִּ֖ים are wasting away because of them ! nə·maq·qîm וְאֵ֥יךְ How wə·’êḵ
