פֹּארֹתָ֣יו its boughs . pō·rō·ṯāw Ezekiel 31:14 לְמַ֡עַן This happened so that lə·ma·‘an אֲשֶׁר֩ - ’ă·šer לֹא־ no lō- כָּל־ other kāl- עֲצֵי־ trees ‘ă·ṣê- מַ֗יִם by the waters ma·yim יִגְבְּה֨וּ would become great yiḡ·bə·hū בְקוֹמָתָ֜ם in height ḇə·qō·w·mā·ṯām וְלֹֽא־ and wə·lō- יִתְּנ֤וּ set yit·tə·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- צַמַּרְתָּם֙ their tops ṣam·mar·tām אֶל־ ’el- בֵּ֣ין among bên עֲבֹתִ֔ים the clouds , ‘ă·ḇō·ṯîm וְלֹֽא־ and no other wə·lō- שֹׁ֣תֵי well-watered šō·ṯê מָ֑יִם . . . mā·yim אֵלֵיהֶ֛ם trees ’ê·lê·hem יַעַמְד֧וּ would reach them ya·‘am·ḏū בְּגָבְהָ֖ם in height . bə·ḡā·ḇə·hām כָּל־ . . . kāl- כִּֽי־ For kî- כֻלָּם֩ they have all ḵul·lām נִתְּנ֨וּ been consigned nit·tə·nū לַמָּ֜וֶת to death , lam·mā·weṯ אֶל־ to ’el- תַּחְתִּ֗ית the depths taḥ·tîṯ אֶ֣רֶץ of the earth , ’e·reṣ בְּת֛וֹךְ among bə·ṯō·wḵ בְּנֵ֥י the mortals bə·nê אָדָ֖ם . . . ’ā·ḏām אֶל־ . . . ’el- י֥וֹרְדֵי who descend yō·wr·ḏê בֽוֹר׃ס to the Pit . ’ ḇō·wr Ezekiel 31:15 כֹּֽה־ This is what kōh- אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֞ר says : ’ā·mar בְּי֨וֹם ‘ On the day bə·yō·wm רִדְתּ֤וֹ it was brought down riḏ·tōw שְׁא֙וֹלָה֙ to Sheol , šə·’ō·w·lāh הֶאֱבַ֜לְתִּי I caused mourning . he·’ĕ·ḇal·tî כִּסֵּ֤תִי I covered kis·sê·ṯî תְּה֔וֹם the deep tə·hō·wm עָלָיו֙ because of it ; ‘ā·lāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וָֽאֶמְנַע֙ I held back wā·’em·na‘ נַהֲרוֹתֶ֔יהָ its rivers ; na·hă·rō·w·ṯe·hā רַבִּ֑ים its abundant rab·bîm מַ֣יִם waters ma·yim וַיִּכָּלְא֖וּ were restrained . way·yik·kā·lə·’ū לְבָנ֔וֹן I made Lebanon lə·ḇā·nō·wn וָאַקְדִּ֤ר mourn wā·’aq·dir עָלָיו֙ for it , ‘ā·lāw וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl עֲצֵ֥י the trees ‘ă·ṣê הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה of the field haś·śā·ḏeh עֻלְפֶּֽה׃ fainted ‘ul·peh עָלָ֥יו because of it . ‘ā·lāw Ezekiel 31:16 גוֹיִ֔ם I made the nations ḡō·w·yim הִרְעַ֣שְׁתִּי quake hir·‘aš·tî מִקּ֤וֹל at the sound miq·qō·wl מַפַּלְתּוֹ֙ of its downfall , map·pal·tōw בְּהוֹרִדִ֥י when I cast it down bə·hō·w·ri·ḏî אֹת֛וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw שְׁא֖וֹלָה to Sheol šə·’ō·w·lāh אֶת־ with ’eṯ- י֣וֹרְדֵי those who descend yō·wr·ḏê ב֑וֹר to the Pit . ḇō·wr כָּל־ Then all kāl- עֲצֵי־ the trees ‘ă·ṣê- עֵ֔דֶן of Eden , ‘ê·ḏen מִבְחַ֥ר the choicest miḇ·ḥar וְטוֹב־ and best wə·ṭō·wḇ- לְבָנ֖וֹן of Lebanon , lə·ḇā·nō·wn כָּל־ all kāl- שֹׁ֥תֵי the well-watered trees šō·ṯê מָֽיִם׃ . . . , mā·yim וַיִּנָּ֨חֲמ֜וּ were consoled way·yin·nā·ḥă·mū בְּאֶ֤רֶץ in the earth bə·’e·reṣ תַּחְתִּית֙ below . taḥ·tîṯ Ezekiel 31:17 הֵ֗ם They hêm גַּם־ too gam- יָרְד֥וּ descended yā·rə·ḏū אִתּ֛וֹ with it ’it·tōw שְׁא֖וֹלָה to Sheol , šə·’ō·w·lāh
