דָמוּ֙ compare ḏā·mū אֶל־ with ’el- סְעַפֹּתָ֔יו its branches , sə·‘ap·pō·ṯāw לֹֽא־ nor lō- וְעַרְמֹנִ֥ים the plane trees wə·‘ar·mō·nîm הָי֖וּ match hā·yū כְּפֹֽארֹתָ֑יו its boughs . kə·p̄ō·rō·ṯāw כָּל־ No kāl- לֹא־ . . . lō- עֵץ֙ tree ‘êṣ בְּגַן־ in the garden bə·ḡan- אֱלֹהִ֔ים of God ’ĕ·lō·hîm דָמָ֥ה could compare ḏā·māh אֵלָ֖יו with ’ê·lāw בְּיָפְיֽוֹ׃ its beauty . bə·yā·p̄ə·yōw Ezekiel 31:9 עֲשִׂיתִ֔יו I made ‘ă·śî·ṯîw יָפֶ֣ה it beautiful yā·p̄eh בְּרֹ֖ב with its many bə·rōḇ דָּֽלִיּוֹתָ֑יו branches , dā·lî·yō·w·ṯāw וַיְקַנְאֻ֙הוּ֙ the envy way·qan·’u·hū כָּל־ of all kāl- עֲצֵי־ the trees ‘ă·ṣê- עֵ֔דֶן of Eden , ‘ê·ḏen אֲשֶׁ֖ר which ’ă·šer בְּגַ֥ן were in the garden bə·ḡan הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ס of God . ’ hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm Ezekiel 31:10 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên כֹּ֤ה this is what kōh אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar יַ֕עַן ‘ Since ya·‘an אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer גָּבַ֖הְתָּ it became great gā·ḇah·tā בְּקוֹמָ֑ה in height bə·qō·w·māh וַיִּתֵּ֤ן and set way·yit·tên צַמַּרְתּוֹ֙ its top ṣam·mar·tōw אֶל־ . . . ’el- בֵּ֣ין among bên עֲבוֹתִ֔ים the clouds , ‘ă·ḇō·w·ṯîm וְרָ֥ם and it grew proud wə·rām לְבָב֖וֹ . . . lə·ḇā·ḇōw בְּגָבְהֽוֹ׃ on account of its height , bə·ḡā·ḇə·hōw Ezekiel 31:11 וְאֶ֨תְּנֵ֔הוּ I delivered it wə·’et·tə·nê·hū בְּיַ֖ד into the hand bə·yaḏ אֵ֣יל of the ruler ’êl גּוֹיִ֑ם of the nations , gō·w·yim עָשׂ֤וֹ for him ‘ā·śōw יַֽעֲשֶׂה֙ to deal ya·‘ă·śeh ל֔וֹ with it lōw כְּרִשְׁע֖וֹ according to its wickedness . kə·riš·‘ōw גֵּרַשְׁתִּֽהוּ׃ I have banished it . gê·raš·ti·hū Ezekiel 31:12 זָרִ֛ים Foreigners , zā·rîm עָרִיצֵ֥י the most ruthless ‘ā·rî·ṣê גוֹיִ֖ם of the nations , ḡō·w·yim וַיִּכְרְתֻ֧הוּ cut it down way·yiḵ·rə·ṯu·hū וַֽיִּטְּשֻׁ֑הוּ and left it . way·yiṭ·ṭə·šu·hū דָלִיּוֹתָ֗יו Its branches ḏā·lî·yō·w·ṯāw נָפְל֣וּ have fallen nā·p̄ə·lū אֶל־ on ’el- הֶ֠הָרִים the mountains he·hā·rîm וּבְכָל־ and in every ū·ḇə·ḵāl גֵּ֨אָי֜וֹת valley ; gê·’ā·yō·wṯ פֹֽארֹתָיו֙ its boughs p̄ō·rō·ṯāw וַתִּשָּׁבַ֤רְנָה lay broken wat·tiš·šā·ḇar·nāh בְּכֹל֙ in all bə·ḵōl הָאָ֔רֶץ the earth’s hā·’ā·reṣ אֲפִיקֵ֣י ravines . ’ă·p̄î·qê כָּל־ And all kāl- עַמֵּ֥י the peoples ‘am·mê הָאָ֖רֶץ of the earth hā·’ā·reṣ וַיֵּרְד֧וּ left way·yê·rə·ḏū מִצִּלּ֛וֹ its shade miṣ·ṣil·lōw וַֽיִּטְּשֻֽׁהוּ׃ and abandoned it . way·yiṭ·ṭə·šu·hū Ezekiel 31:13 כָּל־ All kāl- ע֣וֹף the birds ‘ō·wp̄ הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם of the air haš·šā·mā·yim יִשְׁכְּנ֖וּ nested yiš·kə·nū עַל־ on ‘al- מַפַּלְתּ֥וֹ its fallen trunk , map·pal·tōw כֹּ֖ל and all kōl חַיַּ֥ת the beasts ḥay·yaṯ הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ of the field haś·śā·ḏeh הָי֔וּ lived hā·yū וְאֶל־ among wə·’el-
