הֲמוֹנ֑וֹ his multitude : hă·mō·w·nōw אֶל־ . . . ’el- מִ֖י ‘ Who mî דָּמִ֥יתָ can be compared dā·mî·ṯā בְגָדְלֶֽךָ׃ to your greatness ? ḇə·ḡā·ḏə·le·ḵā Ezekiel 31:3 הִנֵּ֨ה Look at hin·nêh אַשּׁ֜וּר Assyria , ’aš·šūr אֶ֣רֶז a cedar ’e·rez בַּלְּבָנ֗וֹן in Lebanon , bal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn יְפֵ֥ה with beautiful yə·p̄êh עָנָ֛ף branches ‘ā·nāp̄ מֵצַ֖ל that shaded mê·ṣal וְחֹ֥רֶשׁ the forest . wə·ḥō·reš וּגְבַ֣הּ It towered ū·ḡə·ḇah קוֹמָ֑ה on high ; qō·w·māh צַמַּרְתּֽוֹ׃ its top ṣam·mar·tōw הָיְתָ֖ה was hā·yə·ṯāh וּבֵ֣ין among ū·ḇên עֲבֹתִ֔ים the clouds . ‘ă·ḇō·ṯîm Ezekiel 31:4 מַ֣יִם The waters ma·yim גִּדְּל֔וּהוּ made it grow ; gid·də·lū·hū תְּה֖וֹם the deep springs tə·hō·wm רֹֽמְמָ֑תְהוּ made it tall , rō·mə·mā·ṯə·hū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הֹלֵךְ֙ directing hō·lêḵ נַהֲרֹתֶ֗יהָ their streams na·hă·rō·ṯe·hā סְבִיב֣וֹת all around sə·ḇî·ḇō·wṯ מַטָּעָ֔הּ its base maṭ·ṭā·‘āh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- שִׁלְחָ֔ה and sending šil·ḥāh תְּעָלֹתֶ֣יהָ their channels tə·‘ā·lō·ṯe·hā אֶ֖ל to ’el כָּל־ all kāl- עֲצֵ֥י the trees ‘ă·ṣê הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ of the field . haś·śā·ḏeh Ezekiel 31:5 עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּן֙ . . . kên גָּבְהָ֣א it towered gā·ḇə·hā קֹמָת֔וֹ higher qō·mā·ṯōw מִכֹּ֖ל than all mik·kōl עֲצֵ֣י the trees ‘ă·ṣê הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה of the field . haś·śā·ḏeh סַֽרְעַפֹּתָ֜יו Its branches sar·‘ap·pō·ṯāw וַתִּרְבֶּ֨ינָה multiplied , wat·tir·be·nāh פֹארָתוֹ and its boughs p̄ō·rå̄·ṯō וַתֶּאֱרַ֧כְנָה grew long wat·te·’ĕ·raḵ·nāh בְּשַׁלְּחֽוֹ׃ as it spread them out bə·šal·lə·ḥōw רַבִּ֖ים because of the abundant rab·bîm מִמַּ֥יִם waters . mim·ma·yim Ezekiel 31:6 כָּל־ All kāl- ע֣וֹף the birds ‘ō·wp̄ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם of the air haš·šā·ma·yim קִֽנְנוּ֙ nested qin·nū בִּסְעַפֹּתָ֤יו in its branches , bis·‘ap·pō·ṯāw כֹּ֖ל and all kōl חַיַּ֣ת the beasts ḥay·yaṯ הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה of the field haś·śā·ḏeh יָֽלְד֔וּ gave birth yā·lə·ḏū וְתַ֤חַת beneath wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ פֹּֽארֹתָיו֙ its boughs ; pō·rō·ṯāw כֹּ֖ל all kōl רַבִּֽים׃ the great rab·bîm גּוֹיִ֥ם nations gō·w·yim יֵֽשְׁב֔וּ lived yê·šə·ḇū וּבְצִלּוֹ֙ in its shade . ū·ḇə·ṣil·lōw Ezekiel 31:7 וַיְּיִ֣ף It was beautiful way·yə·yip̄ בְּגָדְל֔וֹ in its greatness , bə·ḡā·ḏə·lōw בְּאֹ֖רֶךְ in the length bə·’ō·reḵ דָּֽלִיּוֹתָ֑יו of its limbs , dā·lî·yō·w·ṯāw כִּֽי־ for kî- שָׁרְשׁ֖וֹ its roots šā·rə·šōw הָיָ֥ה extended hā·yāh אֶל־ to ’el- רַבִּֽים׃ abundant rab·bîm מַ֥יִם waters . ma·yim Ezekiel 31:8 אֲרָזִ֣ים The cedars ’ă·rā·zîm בְּגַן־ in the garden bə·ḡan- אֱלֹהִים֒ of God ’ĕ·lō·hîm לֹֽא־ could not lō- עֲמָמֻהוּ֮ rival it ; ‘ă·mā·mu·hū בְּרוֹשִׁ֗ים the cypresses bə·rō·wō·šîm לֹ֤א could not lō
