יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl כֹּֽה־ that this is what kōh- אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִה֒ YHWH Yah·weh הִנְנִ֨י . . . hin·nî אָמַר֮ says : ’ā·mar מְחַלֵּ֤ל ‘ I am about to desecrate mə·ḥal·lêl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִקְדָּשִׁי֙ My sanctuary , miq·dā·šî גְּא֣וֹן the pride gə·’ō·wn עֻזְּכֶ֔ם of your power , ‘uz·zə·ḵem מַחְמַ֥ד the desire maḥ·maḏ עֵֽינֵיכֶ֖ם of your eyes , ‘ê·nê·ḵem וּמַחְמַ֣ל and the delight ū·maḥ·mal נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם of your soul . nap̄·šə·ḵem וּבְנֵיכֶ֧ם And the sons ū·ḇə·nê·ḵem וּבְנֽוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם and daughters ū·ḇə·nō·w·ṯê·ḵem אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer עֲזַבְתֶּ֖ם you left behind ‘ă·zaḇ·tem יִפֹּֽלוּ׃ will fall yip·pō·lū בַּחֶ֥רֶב by the sword . ’ ba·ḥe·reḇ Ezekiel 24:22 וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם Then you will do wa·‘ă·śî·ṯem כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר as ka·’ă·šer עָשִׂ֑יתִי I have done : ‘ā·śî·ṯî עַל־ . . . ‘al- לֹ֣א You will not lō תַעְט֔וּ cover ṯa‘·ṭū שָׂפָם֙ [your] lips śā·p̄ām תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ or eat ṯō·ḵê·lū וְלֶ֥חֶם the bread wə·le·ḥem אֲנָשִׁ֖ים of mourners ’ă·nā·šîm לֹ֥א . . . . lō Ezekiel 24:23 וּפְאֵרֵכֶ֣ם Your turbans ū·p̄ə·’ê·rê·ḵem עַל־ will remain on ‘al- רָאשֵׁיכֶ֗ם your heads rā·šê·ḵem וְנַֽעֲלֵיכֶם֙ and your sandals wə·na·‘ă·lê·ḵem בְּרַגְלֵיכֶ֔ם on your feet . bə·raḡ·lê·ḵem לֹ֥א You will not lō תִסְפְּד֖וּ mourn ṯis·pə·ḏū וְלֹ֣א or wə·lō תִבְכּ֑וּ weep , ṯiḇ·kū וּנְמַקֹּתֶם֙ but you will waste away ū·nə·maq·qō·ṯem בַּעֲוֺנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם because of your sins , ba·‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·ḵem וּנְהַמְתֶּ֖ם and you will groan ū·nə·ham·tem אֶל־ among ’el- אִ֥ישׁ . . . ’îš אָחִֽיו׃ yourselves . ’ā·ḥîw Ezekiel 24:24 יְחֶזְקֵ֤אל ‘ Thus Ezekiel yə·ḥez·qêl וְהָיָ֨ה will be wə·hā·yāh לְמוֹפֵ֔ת a sign lə·mō·w·p̄êṯ לָכֶם֙ for you ; lā·ḵem עָשָׂ֖ה you will do ‘ā·śāh כְּכֹ֥ל everything kə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- תַּעֲשׂ֑וּ he has done . ta·‘ă·śū בְּבֹאָ֕הּ When this happens , bə·ḇō·’āh וִֽידַעְתֶּ֕ם you will know wî·ḏa‘·tem כִּ֥י that kî אֲנִ֖י I ’ă·nî אֲדֹנָ֥י am the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִֽה׃ס YHWH . ’ Yah·weh Ezekiel 24:25 וְאַתָּ֣ה And you , wə·’at·tāh בֶן־ son ḇen- אָדָ֔ם of man , ’ā·ḏām הֲל֗וֹא . . . hă·lō·w בְּי֨וֹם know that on the day bə·yō·wm קַחְתִּ֤י I take qaḥ·tî מֵהֶם֙ away mê·hem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מָ֣עוּזָּ֔ם their stronghold , mā·‘ūz·zām תִּפְאַרְתָּ֑ם their pride tip̄·’ar·tām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מְשׂ֖וֹשׂ and joy — mə·śō·wś מַחְמַ֤ד the desire maḥ·maḏ עֵֽינֵיהֶם֙ of their eyes ‘ê·nê·hem וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- מַשָּׂ֣א which uplifted maś·śā נַפְשָׁ֔ם their souls — nap̄·šām בְּנֵיהֶ֖ם and their sons bə·nê·hem וּבְנוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ and daughters as well , ū·ḇə·nō·w·ṯê·hem Ezekiel 24:26 הַה֔וּא on that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm הַפָּלִ֖יט a fugitive hap·pā·lîṭ יָב֥וֹא will come yā·ḇō·w אֵלֶ֑יךָ vvv ’ê·le·ḵā
