Ezekiel 24:8 לְהַעֲל֤וֹת In order to stir up lə·ha·‘ă·lō·wṯ חֵמָה֙ wrath ḥê·māh לִנְקֹ֣ם and take vengeance lin·qōm נָקָ֔ם . . . , nā·qām נָתַ֥תִּי I have placed nā·ṯat·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דָּמָ֖הּ her blood dā·māh עַל־ on ‘al- צְחִ֣יחַ the bare ṣə·ḥî·aḥ סָ֑לַע rock , sā·la‘ לְבִלְתִּ֖י so that it would not lə·ḇil·tî הִכָּסֽוֹת׃פ be covered . ’ hik·kā·sō·wṯ Ezekiel 24:9 לָכֵ֗ן Yes , lā·ḵên כֹּ֤ה this is what kōh אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar א֖וֹי ‘ Woe ’ō·w עִ֣יר to the city ‘îr הַדָּמִ֑ים of bloodshed ! had·dā·mîm גַּם־ . . . gam- אֲנִ֖י I, too , ’ă·nî הַמְּדוּרָֽה׃ will pile the kindling ham·mə·ḏū·rāh אַגְדִּ֥יל high . ’aḡ·dîl Ezekiel 24:10 הַרְבֵּ֤ה Pile on har·bêh הָעֵצִים֙ the logs hā·‘ê·ṣîm הַדְלֵ֣ק and kindle haḏ·lêq הָאֵ֔שׁ the fire ; hā·’êš הָתֵ֖ם cook hā·ṯêm הַבָּשָׂ֑ר the meat well hab·bā·śār וְהַרְקַח֙ and mix in wə·har·qaḥ הַמֶּרְקָחָ֔ה the spices ; ham·mer·qā·ḥāh וְהָעֲצָמ֖וֹת let the bones wə·hā·‘ă·ṣā·mō·wṯ יֵחָֽרוּ׃ be burned . yê·ḥā·rū Ezekiel 24:11 וְהַעֲמִידֶ֥הָ Set wə·ha·‘ă·mî·ḏe·hā רֵקָ֑ה the empty rê·qāh עַל־ pot on ‘al- גֶּחָלֶ֖יהָ its coals ge·ḥā·le·hā לְמַ֨עַן until lə·ma·‘an תֵּחַ֜ם it becomes hot tê·ḥam נְחֻשְׁתָּ֗הּ and its copper nə·ḥuš·tāh וְחָ֣רָה glows . wə·ḥā·rāh טֻמְאָתָ֔הּ Then its impurity ṭum·’ā·ṯāh וְנִתְּכָ֤ה will melt wə·nit·tə·ḵāh בְתוֹכָהּ֙ within ; ḇə·ṯō·w·ḵāh חֶלְאָתָֽהּ׃ its rust ḥel·’ā·ṯāh תִּתֻּ֖ם will be consumed . tit·tum Ezekiel 24:12 הֶלְאָ֑ת It has frustrated hel·’āṯ תְּאֻנִ֖ים every effort ; tə·’u·nîm רַבַּ֣ת its thick rab·baṯ חֶלְאָתָ֔הּ rust ḥel·’ā·ṯāh וְלֹֽא־ has not wə·lō- תֵצֵ֤א been removed ṯê·ṣê מִמֶּ֙נָּה֙ . . . , mim·men·nāh בְּאֵ֖שׁ even by the fire bə·’êš חֶלְאָתָֽהּ׃ - . ḥel·’ā·ṯāh Ezekiel 24:13 יַ֤עַן Because ya·‘an זִמָּ֑ה of the indecency zim·māh בְּטֻמְאָתֵ֖ךְ of your uncleanness bə·ṭum·’ā·ṯêḵ טִֽהַרְתִּיךְ֙ I tried to cleanse you , ṭi·har·tîḵ וְלֹ֣א but you would not wə·lō טָהַ֔רְתְּ be purified ṭā·hart מִטֻּמְאָתֵךְ֙ from your filthiness . miṭ·ṭum·’ā·ṯêḵ לֹ֣א You will not lō תִטְהֲרִי־ be pure ṯiṭ·hă·rî- ע֔וֹד again ‘ō·wḏ עַד־ until ‘aḏ- אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֲמָתִ֖י My wrath ḥă·mā·ṯî בָּֽךְ׃ against you bāḵ הֲנִיחִ֥י has subsided . hă·nî·ḥî Ezekiel 24:14 אֲנִ֨י I , ’ă·nî יְהוָ֤ה YHWH , Yah·weh דִּבַּ֙רְתִּי֙ have spoken ; dib·bar·tî בָּאָ֣ה [the time] is coming , bā·’āh וְעָשִׂ֔יתִי and I will act . wə·‘ā·śî·ṯî לֹֽא־ I will not lō- אֶפְרַ֥ע refrain ’ep̄·ra‘ וְלֹא־ [or] wə·lō- אָח֖וּס show pity , ’ā·ḥūs וְלֹ֣א nor wə·lō אֶנָּחֵ֑ם will I relent . ’en·nā·ḥêm
