Ezekiel 23:1 דְבַר־ Again the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֥י came way·hî אֵלַ֥י to me , ’ê·lay לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying , lê·mōr Ezekiel 23:2 בֶּן־ “ Son ben- אָדָ֑ם of man , ’ā·ḏām הָיֽוּ׃ there were hā·yū שְׁתַּ֣יִם two šə·ta·yim נָשִׁ֔ים women , nā·šîm בְּנ֥וֹת daughters bə·nō·wṯ אַחַ֖ת of the same ’a·ḥaṯ אֵם־ mother , ’êm- Ezekiel 23:3 וַתִּזְנֶ֣ינָה and they played wat·tiz·ne·nāh בְמִצְרַ֔יִם in Egypt , ḇə·miṣ·ra·yim זָנ֑וּ prostituting themselves zā·nū בִּנְעוּרֵיהֶ֖ן from their youth . bin·‘ū·rê·hen שְׁדֵיהֶ֔ן Their breasts šə·ḏê·hen וְשָׁ֣ם . . . wə·šām מֹעֲכ֣וּ were fondled mō·‘ă·ḵū שָׁ֚מָּה there , māh בְּתוּלֵיהֶֽן׃ and their virgin bə·ṯū·lê·hen דַּדֵּ֖י bosoms dad·dê עִשּׂ֔וּ caressed . ‘iś·śū Ezekiel 23:4 הַגְּדוֹלָה֙ The older hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh וּשְׁמוֹתָ֗ן was named ū·šə·mō·w·ṯān אָהֳלָ֤ה Oholah , ’ā·ho·lāh אֲחוֹתָ֔הּ and her sister ’ă·ḥō·w·ṯāh וְאָהֳלִיבָ֣ה [was named] Oholibah . wə·’ā·ho·lî·ḇāh וַתִּֽהְיֶ֣ינָה They became wat·tih·ye·nāh לִ֔י Mine lî וַתֵּלַ֖דְנָה and gave birth to wat·tê·laḏ·nāh בָּנִ֣ים sons bā·nîm וּבָנ֑וֹת and daughters . ū·ḇā·nō·wṯ וּשְׁמוֹתָ֕ן [As] [for] their identities , ū·šə·mō·w·ṯān אָהֳלָ֔ה Oholah ’ā·ho·lāh שֹׁמְר֣וֹן [is] Samaria , šō·mə·rō·wn אָהֳלִיבָֽה׃ and Oholibah ’ā·ho·lî·ḇāh וִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם is Jerusalem . wî·rū·šā·lim Ezekiel 23:5 אָהֳלָ֖ה Oholah ’ā·ho·lāh וַתִּ֥זֶן prostituted herself wat·ti·zen תַּחְתָּ֑י while she was still Mine . taḥ·tāy וַתַּעְגַּב֙ She lusted wat·ta‘·gaḇ עַֽל־ after ‘al- מְאַהֲבֶ֔יהָ her lovers , mə·’a·hă·ḇe·hā אֶל־ . . . ’el- אַשּׁ֖וּר the Assyrians — ’aš·šūr קְרוֹבִֽים׃ warriors qə·rō·w·ḇîm Ezekiel 23:6 לְבֻשֵׁ֤י clothed lə·ḇu·šê תְכֵ֙לֶת֙ in blue , ṯə·ḵê·leṯ פַּח֣וֹת governors pa·ḥō·wṯ וּסְגָנִ֔ים and commanders , ū·sə·ḡā·nîm כֻּלָּ֑ם all kul·lām חֶ֖מֶד desirable ḥe·meḏ בַּח֥וּרֵי young men , ba·ḥū·rê פָּרָשִׁ֕ים horsemen pā·rā·šîm רֹכְבֵ֖י mounted on rō·ḵə·ḇê סוּסִֽים׃ steeds . sū·sîm Ezekiel 23:7 וַתִּתֵּ֤ן She offered wat·tit·tên תַּזְנוּתֶ֙יהָ֙ sexual favors taz·nū·ṯe·hā עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם vvv ‘ă·lê·hem כֻּלָּ֑ם to all kul·lām מִבְחַ֥ר the elite miḇ·ḥar בְּנֵֽי־ . . . bə·nê- אַשּׁ֖וּר of Assyria . ’aš·šūr נִטְמָֽאָה׃ She defiled herself niṭ·mā·’āh וּבְכֹ֧ל with all ū·ḇə·ḵōl בְּכָל־ . . . bə·ḵāl גִּלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם the idols gil·lū·lê·hem אֲשֶׁר־ of those for whom ’ă·šer- עָֽגְבָ֛ה she lusted . ‘ā·ḡə·ḇāh Ezekiel 23:8 וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לֹ֣א She did not lō עָזָ֔בָה give up ‘ā·zā·ḇāh תַּזְנוּתֶ֤יהָ the prostitution taz·nū·ṯe·hā מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙ [she began] in Egypt , mim·miṣ·ra·yim כִּ֤י when kî שָׁכְב֣וּ men slept šā·ḵə·ḇū
