Ezekiel 20:16 יַ֜עַן because ya·‘an מָאָ֗סוּ they kept rejecting mā·’ā·sū וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בְּמִשְׁפָּטַ֣י My ordinances , bə·miš·pā·ṭay לֹא־ refusing lō- הָלְכ֣וּ to walk hā·lə·ḵū בָהֶ֔ם in ḇā·hem חֻקּוֹתַי֙ My statutes , ḥuq·qō·w·ṯay וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- חִלֵּ֑לוּ profaning ḥil·lê·lū שַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖י My Sabbaths ; šab·bə·ṯō·w·ṯay כִּ֛י for kî לִבָּ֥ם their hearts lib·bām הֹלֵֽךְ׃ continually went hō·lêḵ אַחֲרֵ֥י after ’a·ḥă·rê גִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם their idols . ḡil·lū·lê·hem Ezekiel 20:17 וַתָּ֧חָס Yet I looked on them with pity wat·tā·ḥās עֵינִ֛י . . . ‘ê·nî עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם . . . ‘ă·lê·hem מִֽשַּׁחֲתָ֑ם and did not destroy them miš·ša·ḥă·ṯām וְלֹֽא־ or wə·lō- עָשִׂ֧יתִי bring ‘ā·śî·ṯî אוֹתָ֛ם them ’ō·w·ṯām כָּלָ֖ה to an end kā·lāh בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ in the wilderness . bam·miḏ·bār Ezekiel 20:18 בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר In the wilderness bam·miḏ·bār וָאֹמַ֤ר I said wā·’ō·mar אֶל־ to ’el- בְּנֵיהֶם֙ their children : bə·nê·hem אַל־ ‘ Do not ’al- תֵּלֵ֔כוּ walk tê·lê·ḵū וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בְּחוּקֵּ֤י in the statutes bə·ḥūq·qê אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ of your fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem תִּשְׁמֹ֑רוּ or keep tiš·mō·rū מִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֖ם their ordinances miš·pə·ṭê·hem אַל־ . . . ’al- תִּטַּמָּֽאוּ׃ or defile tiṭ·ṭam·mā·’ū וּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם yourselves with their idols ū·ḇə·ḡil·lū·lê·hem אַל־ . . . . ’al- Ezekiel 20:19 אֲנִי֙ I ’ă·nî יְהוָ֣ה am YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם your God ; ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem לֵ֑כוּ walk lê·ḵū בְּחֻקּוֹתַ֖י in My statutes , bə·ḥuq·qō·w·ṯay וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- שִׁמְר֖וּ keep šim·rū מִשְׁפָּטַ֥י My ordinances , miš·pā·ṭay וַעֲשׂ֥וּ and practice them wa·‘ă·śū אוֹתָֽם׃ - . ’ō·w·ṯām Ezekiel 20:20 וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- שַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖י Keep My Sabbaths šab·bə·ṯō·w·ṯay קַדֵּ֑שׁוּ holy , qad·dê·šū וְהָי֤וּ that they may be wə·hā·yū לְאוֹת֙ a sign lə·’ō·wṯ בֵּינִ֣י between us bê·nî וּבֵֽינֵיכֶ֔ם . . . , ū·ḇê·nê·ḵem לָדַ֕עַת so that you may know lā·ḏa·‘aṯ כִּ֛י that kî אֲנִ֥י I ’ă·nî יְהוָ֖ה am YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ your God . ’ ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem Ezekiel 20:21 הַבָּנִ֗ים But the children hab·bā·nîm וַיַּמְרוּ־ rebelled way·yam·rū- בִ֣י against Me . ḇî לֹֽא־ They did not lō- הָ֠לָכוּ walk hā·lā·ḵū וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בְּחֻקּוֹתַ֣י in My statutes bə·ḥuq·qō·w·ṯay שָׁמְר֜וּ or carefully šā·mə·rū לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת observe la·‘ă·śō·wṯ אוֹתָ֗ם - ’ō·w·ṯām מִשְׁפָּטַ֨י My ordinances miš·pā·ṭay לֹא־ . . . — lō- הָֽאָדָם֙ though the man hā·’ā·ḏām אֲשֶׁר֩ who ’ă·šer יַעֲשֶׂ֨ה does [these things] ya·‘ă·śeh אוֹתָ֤ם - ’ō·w·ṯām וָחַ֣י will live wā·ḥay בָּהֶ֔ם by them — bā·hem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חִלֵּ֑לוּ and they profaned ḥil·lê·lū
