הִ֥יא is the one who hî תָמֽוּת׃ס will die . ṯā·mūṯ Ezekiel 18:5 כִּי־ Now suppose kî- וְאִ֖ישׁ a man wə·’îš יִהְיֶ֣ה is yih·yeh צַדִּ֑יק righteous ṣad·dîq וְעָשָׂ֥ה and does wə·‘ā·śāh מִשְׁפָּ֖ט what is just miš·pāṭ וּצְדָקָֽה׃ and right : ū·ṣə·ḏā·qāh Ezekiel 18:6 לֹ֣א He does not lō אָכָ֔ל eat ’ā·ḵāl אֶל־ at ’el- הֶֽהָרִים֙ the mountain he·hā·rîm לֹ֣א [or] lō נָשָׂ֔א look nā·śā וְעֵינָיו֙ . . . wə·‘ê·nāw אֶל־ to ’el- גִּלּוּלֵ֖י the idols gil·lū·lê בֵּ֣ית of the house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לֹ֣א He does not lō טִמֵּ֔א defile ṭim·mê רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ his neighbor’s rê·‘ê·hū אֵ֤שֶׁת wife ’ê·šeṯ לֹ֥א or lō יִקְרָֽב׃ approach yiq·rāḇ וְאֶל־ wə·’el- אִשָּׁ֥ה a woman ’iš·šāh נִדָּ֖ה during her period . nid·dāh Ezekiel 18:7 לֹ֣א He does not lō יוֹנֶ֔ה oppress yō·w·neh וְאִישׁ֙ another , wə·’îš יָשִׁ֔יב but restores yā·šîḇ חֲבֹלָת֥וֹ the pledge ḥă·ḇō·lā·ṯōw חוֹב֙ to the debtor . ḥō·wḇ לֹ֣א He does not lō יִגְזֹ֑ל commit yiḡ·zōl גְּזֵלָ֖ה robbery , gə·zê·lāh יִתֵּ֔ן but gives yit·tên לַחְמוֹ֙ his bread laḥ·mōw לְרָעֵ֣ב to the hungry lə·rā·‘êḇ יְכַסֶּה־ and covers yə·ḵas·seh- וְעֵירֹ֖ם the naked wə·‘ê·rōm בָּֽגֶד׃ with clothing . bā·ḡeḏ Ezekiel 18:8 לֹֽא־ He does not lō- יִתֵּ֗ן engage yit·tên בַּנֶּ֣שֶׁךְ in usury ban·ne·šeḵ לֹ֣א [or] lō יִקָּ֔ח take yiq·qāḥ וְתַרְבִּית֙ excess interest , wə·ṯar·bîṯ יָד֑וֹ but he withholds his hand yā·ḏōw מֵעָ֖וֶל from iniquity mê·‘ā·wel יָשִׁ֣יב . . . yā·šîḇ יַֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה [and] executes ya·‘ă·śeh אֱמֶת֙ true ’ĕ·meṯ מִשְׁפַּ֤ט justice miš·paṭ בֵּ֥ין between bên אִ֖ישׁ men . ’îš לְאִֽישׁ׃ . . . lə·’îš Ezekiel 18:9 יְהַלֵּ֛ךְ He follows yə·hal·lêḵ בְּחֻקּוֹתַ֧י My statutes bə·ḥuq·qō·w·ṯay אֱמֶ֑ת and faithfully ’ĕ·meṯ שָׁמַ֖ר keeps šā·mar לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת . . . la·‘ă·śō·wṯ וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֥י My ordinances . ū·miš·pā·ṭay הוּא֙ [That man] is hū צַדִּ֥יק righteous ; ṣad·dîq חָיֹ֣ה surely ḥā·yōh יִֽחְיֶ֔ה he will live , yiḥ·yeh נְאֻ֖ם declares nə·’um אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Ezekiel 18:10 וְהוֹלִ֥יד Now suppose [that man] has wə·hō·w·lîḏ פָּרִ֖יץ a violent pā·rîṣ בֵּן־ son , bên- שֹׁפֵ֣ךְ who sheds šō·p̄êḵ דָּ֑ם blood dām וְעָ֣שָׂה or does wə·‘ā·śāh אָ֔ח . . . ’āḥ מֵאַחַ֖ד any mê·’a·ḥaḏ מֵאֵֽלֶּה׃ of these [things] , mê·’êl·leh
