Ezekiel 16:4 בְּי֨וֹם On the day bə·yō·wm וּמוֹלְדוֹתַ֗יִךְ of your birth ū·mō·wl·ḏō·w·ṯa·yiḵ הוּלֶּ֤דֶת - hūl·le·ḏeṯ שָׁרֵּ֔ךְ your cord šār·rêḵ לֹֽא־ was not lō- כָרַּ֣ת cut , ḵār·raṯ אֹתָךְ֙ - ’ō·ṯāḵ לֹֽא־ nor lō- רֻחַ֖צְתְּ were you washed ru·ḥaṣt וּבְמַ֥יִם with water ū·ḇə·ma·yim לְמִשְׁעִ֑י for cleansing . lə·miš·‘î לֹ֣א You were not lō וְהָמְלֵ֙חַ֙ rubbed with salt wə·hā·mə·lê·aḥ הֻמְלַ֔חַתְּ . . . hum·la·ḥat וְהָחְתֵּ֖ל or wrapped in cloths wə·hā·ḥə·têl לֹ֥א . . . lō חֻתָּֽלְתְּ׃ - . ḥut·tā·lət Ezekiel 16:5 לֹא־ No lō- חָ֨סָה one cared enough ḥā·sāh עַ֗יִן . . . ‘a·yin עָלַ֜יִךְ for you ‘ā·la·yiḵ לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת to do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ לָ֛ךְ lāḵ אַחַ֥ת even one ’a·ḥaṯ מֵאֵ֖לֶּה of these things mê·’êl·leh לְחֻמְלָ֣ה out of compassion lə·ḥum·lāh עָלָ֑יִךְ for you . ‘ā·lā·yiḵ וַֽתֻּשְׁלְכִ֞י Instead, you were thrown out wat·tuš·lə·ḵî אֶל־ into ’el- פְּנֵ֤י the open pə·nê הַשָּׂדֶה֙ field , haś·śā·ḏeh נַפְשֵׁ֔ךְ because you nap̄·šêḵ בְּגֹ֣עַל were despised bə·ḡō·‘al בְּי֖וֹם on the day bə·yō·wm הֻלֶּ֥דֶת of your birth hul·le·ḏeṯ אֹתָֽךְ׃ - . ’ō·ṯāḵ Ezekiel 16:6 וָאֶעֱבֹ֤ר Then I passed wā·’e·‘ĕ·ḇōr עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ by ‘ā·la·yiḵ וָֽאֶרְאֵ֔ךְ and saw wā·’er·’êḵ מִתְבּוֹסֶ֖סֶת you wallowing miṯ·bō·w·se·seṯ בְּדָמָ֑יִךְ in your blood , bə·ḏā·mā·yiḵ בְּדָמַ֣יִךְ and as you lay there in your blood bə·ḏā·ma·yiḵ וָאֹ֤מַר I said wā·’ō·mar לָךְ֙ to you , lāḵ חֲיִ֔י ‘ Live ! ’ ḥă·yî בְּדָמַ֥יִךְ [There] bə·ḏā·ma·yiḵ וָאֹ֥מַר I said wā·’ō·mar לָ֖ךְ to you , lāḵ חֲיִֽי׃ ‘ Live ! ’ ḥă·yî Ezekiel 16:7 נְתַתִּ֔יךְ I made nə·ṯat·tîḵ רְבָבָ֗ה you thrive rə·ḇā·ḇāh כְּצֶ֤מַח like a plant kə·ṣe·maḥ הַשָּׂדֶה֙ of the field . haś·śā·ḏeh וַתִּרְבִּי֙ You grew up wat·tir·bî וַֽתִּגְדְּלִ֔י and matured wat·tiḡ·də·lî וַתָּבֹ֖אִי and became wat·tā·ḇō·’î בַּעֲדִ֣י . . . ba·‘ă·ḏî עֲדָיִ֑ים very beautiful . ‘ă·ḏā·yîm שָׁדַ֤יִם Your breasts šā·ḏa·yim נָכֹ֙נוּ֙ were formed nā·ḵō·nū וּשְׂעָרֵ֣ךְ and your hair ū·śə·‘ā·rêḵ צִמֵּ֔חַ grew , ṣim·mê·aḥ וְאַ֖תְּ but you wə·’at עֵרֹ֥ם were naked ‘ê·rōm וְעֶרְיָֽה׃ and bare . wə·‘er·yāh Ezekiel 16:8 וָאֶעֱבֹ֨ר Then I passed wā·’e·‘ĕ·ḇōr עָלַ֜יִךְ by ‘ā·la·yiḵ וָאֶרְאֵ֗ךְ and saw you , wā·’er·’êḵ וְהִנֵּ֤ה and you were indeed wə·hin·nêh עִתֵּךְ֙ old enough ‘it·têḵ עֵ֣ת . . . ‘êṯ דֹּדִ֔ים for love . dō·ḏîm וָאֶפְרֹ֤שׂ So I spread wā·’ep̄·rōś כְּנָפִי֙ My cloak kə·nā·p̄î עָלַ֔יִךְ over you ‘ā·la·yiḵ וָאֲכַסֶּ֖ה and covered wā·’ă·ḵas·seh עֶרְוָתֵ֑ךְ your nakedness . ‘er·wā·ṯêḵ וָאֶשָּׁ֣בַֽע I pledged Myself wā·’eš·šā·ḇa‘ לָ֠ךְ to you , lāḵ וָאָב֨וֹא entered wā·’ā·ḇō·w בִבְרִ֜ית into a covenant ḇiḇ·rîṯ אֹתָ֗ךְ with you , ’ō·ṯāḵ וַתִּ֥הְיִי and you became wat·tih·yî לִֽי׃ Mine , lî נְאֻ֛ם declares nə·’um אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy
