עֲלִֽילוֹתָ֑ם and actions , ‘ă·lî·lō·w·ṯām וְנִחַמְתֶּ֗ם you will be comforted wə·ni·ḥam·tem עַל־ regarding ‘al- הָֽרָעָה֙ the disaster hā·rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer הֵבֵ֙אתִי֙ I have brought hê·ḇê·ṯî עַל־ upon ‘al- יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם Jerusalem — yə·rū·šā·lim אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer הֵבֵ֖אתִי I have brought hê·ḇê·ṯî עָלֶֽיהָ׃ upon it . ‘ā·le·hā Ezekiel 14:23 וְנִחֲמ֣וּ They will bring you consolation wə·ni·ḥă·mū אֶתְכֶ֔ם - ’eṯ·ḵem כִּֽי־ when kî- תִרְא֥וּ you see ṯir·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דַּרְכָּ֖ם their conduct dar·kām וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- עֲלִֽילוֹתָ֑ם and actions , ‘ă·lî·lō·w·ṯām וִֽידַעְתֶּ֗ם and you will know wî·ḏa‘·tem כִּי֩ that kî לֹ֨א it was not lō חִנָּ֤ם without cause ḥin·nām עָשִׂ֙יתִי֙ that I have done ‘ā·śî·ṯî אֵ֣ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁר־ [these things] ’ă·šer- עָשִׂ֣יתִי - ‘ā·śî·ṯî בָ֔הּ within it , ’ ḇāh נְאֻ֖ם declares nə·’um אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהֹוִֽה׃פ YHWH . ” Yah·weh Ezekiel 15:1 דְבַר־ Then the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֥י came way·hî אֵלַ֥י to me , ’ê·lay לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying , lê·mōr Ezekiel 15:2 בֶּן־ “ Son ben- אָדָ֕ם of man , ’ā·ḏām מַה־ how mah- יִּֽהְיֶ֥ה does yih·yeh עֵץ־ the wood ‘êṣ- הַגֶּ֖פֶן of the vine hag·ge·p̄en מִכָּל־ surpass mik·kāl עֵ֑ץ any [other] ‘êṣ הַזְּמוֹרָ֕ה branch haz·zə·mō·w·rāh בַּעֲצֵ֥י among the trees ba·‘ă·ṣê אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer הָיָ֖ה - hā·yāh הַיָּֽעַר׃ in the forest ? hay·yā·‘ar Ezekiel 15:3 עֵ֔ץ Can wood ‘êṣ הֲיֻקַּ֤ח be taken hă·yuq·qaḥ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ from it mim·men·nū לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת to make la·‘ă·śō·wṯ לִמְלָאכָ֑ה something useful ? lim·lā·ḵāh אִם־ Or ’im- יִקְח֤וּ can one make yiq·ḥū מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ from it mim·men·nū יָתֵ֔ד a peg yā·ṯêḏ עָלָ֖יו on which ‘ā·lāw לִתְל֥וֹת to hang liṯ·lō·wṯ כָּל־ vvv kāl- כֶּֽלִי׃ utensils ? ke·lî Ezekiel 15:4 הִנֵּ֥ה No , hin·nêh נִתַּ֣ן it is cast nit·tan לָאֵ֖שׁ into the fire lā·’êš לְאָכְלָ֑ה for fuel . lə·’āḵ·lāh אֵת֩ - ’êṯ הָאֵשׁ֙ The fire hā·’êš אָכְלָ֤ה devours ’ā·ḵə·lāh שְׁנֵ֨י both šə·nê קְצוֹתָ֜יו ends , qə·ṣō·w·ṯāw וְתוֹכ֣וֹ and the middle wə·ṯō·w·ḵōw נָחָ֔ר is charred . nā·ḥār הֲיִצְלַ֖ח Can it be useful hă·yiṣ·laḥ לִמְלָאכָֽה׃ for anything ? lim·lā·ḵāh Ezekiel 15:5 הִנֵּה֙ Even hin·nêh בִּֽהְיוֹת֣וֹ when it was bih·yō·w·ṯōw תָמִ֔ים whole , ṯā·mîm לֹ֥א it could not lō
