וְיַ֤עַל sets up wə·ya·‘al גִּלּוּלָיו֙ idols gil·lū·lāw אֶל־ in ’el- לִבּ֔וֹ his heart , lib·bōw יָשִׂ֖ים and puts yā·śîm עֲוֺנ֔וֹ a wicked ‘ă·wō·nōw וּמִכְשׁ֣וֹל stumbling block ū·miḵ·šō·wl נֹ֣כַח before nō·ḵaḥ פָּנָ֑יו his face , pā·nāw וּבָ֤א and then comes ū·ḇā אֶל־ to ’el- הַנָּבִיא֙ the prophet han·nā·ḇî לִדְרָשׁ־ to inquire liḏ·rāš- ל֣וֹ lōw בִ֔י of Me , ḇî אֲנִ֣י I ’ă·nî יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh נַֽעֲנֶה־ will answer na·‘ă·neh- לּ֖וֹ him lōw בִּֽי׃ Myself . bî Ezekiel 14:8 וְנָתַתִּ֨י I will set wə·nā·ṯat·tî פָנַ֜י My face p̄ā·nay הַה֗וּא against that ha·hū בָּאִ֣ישׁ man bā·’îš וַהֲשִֽׂמֹתִ֙יהוּ֙ and make him wa·hă·śi·mō·ṯî·hū לְא֣וֹת a sign lə·’ō·wṯ וְלִמְשָׁלִ֔ים and a proverb ; wə·lim·šā·lîm וְהִכְרַתִּ֖יו I will cut him off wə·hiḵ·rat·tîw מִתּ֣וֹךְ from among mit·tō·wḵ עַמִּ֑י My people . ‘am·mî וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם Then you will know wî·ḏa‘·tem כִּֽי־ that kî- אֲנִ֥י I ’ă·nî יְהוָֽה׃ס am YHWH . Yah·weh Ezekiel 14:9 כִֽי־ But if ḵî- וְהַנָּבִ֤יא the prophet wə·han·nā·ḇî יְפֻתֶּה֙ is enticed yə·p̄ut·teh וְדִבֶּ֣ר to speak wə·ḏib·ber דָּבָ֔ר a message , dā·ḇār אֲנִ֤י then it was I ’ă·nî יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh פִּתֵּ֔יתִי who enticed pit·tê·ṯî אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ הַה֑וּא him ha·hū הַנָּבִ֣יא . . . , han·nā·ḇî וְנָטִ֤יתִי and I will stretch out wə·nā·ṭî·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָדִי֙ My hand yā·ḏî עָלָ֔יו against him ‘ā·lāw וְהִ֨שְׁמַדְתִּ֔יו and destroy him wə·hiš·maḏ·tîw מִתּ֖וֹךְ from among mit·tō·wḵ עַמִּ֥י My people ‘am·mî יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Ezekiel 14:10 וְנָשְׂא֖וּ They will bear wə·nā·śə·’ū עֲוֺנָ֑ם their punishment — ‘ă·wō·nām כַּֽעֲוֺן֙ the punishment ka·‘ă·wōn הַדֹּרֵ֔שׁ of the inquirer had·dō·rêš יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ will be yih·yeh כַּעֲוֺ֥ן the same as that ka·‘ă·wōn הַנָּבִ֖יא of the prophet — han·nā·ḇî Ezekiel 14:11 לְ֠מַעַן in order that lə·ma·‘an בֵּֽית־ the house bêṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl לֹֽא־ may no lō- ע֤וֹד longer ‘ō·wḏ יִתְע֨וּ stray yiṯ·‘ū מֵאַֽחֲרַ֔י from Me mê·’a·ḥă·ray וְלֹֽא־ and no wə·lō- ע֖וֹד longer ‘ō·wḏ יִטַּמְּא֥וּ defile themselves yiṭ·ṭam·mə·’ū בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl פִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֑ם their transgressions . piš·‘ê·hem וְהָ֥יוּ Then they will be wə·hā·yū לִ֣י My lî לְעָ֗ם people lə·‘ām וַֽאֲנִי֙ and I wa·’ă·nî אֶהְיֶ֤ה will be ’eh·yeh לָהֶם֙ their lā·hem לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים God , lê·lō·hîm נְאֻ֖ם declares nə·’um אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִֽה׃פ YHWH . ’” Yah·weh Ezekiel 14:12 דְבַר־ And the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֥י came way·hî
