Exodus 16:27 וַֽיְהִי֙ Yet way·hî הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י on the seventh haš·šə·ḇî·‘î בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm מִן־ some of min- הָעָ֖ם the people hā·‘ām יָצְא֥וּ went out yā·ṣə·’ū לִלְקֹ֑ט to gather , lil·qōṭ וְלֹ֖א but they did not wə·lō מָצָֽאוּ׃ס find anything . mā·ṣā·’ū Exodus 16:28 יְהוָ֖ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses , mō·šeh עַד־ “ How long ‘aḏ- אָ֙נָה֙ . . . ’ā·nāh מֵֽאַנְתֶּ֔ם will you refuse mê·’an·tem לִשְׁמֹ֥ר to keep liš·mōr מִצְוֺתַ֖י My commandments miṣ·wō·ṯay וְתוֹרֹתָֽי׃ and instructions ? wə·ṯō·w·rō·ṯāy Exodus 16:29 רְא֗וּ Understand rə·’ū כִּֽי־ that kî- יְהוָה֮ YHWH Yah·weh נָתַ֣ן has given nā·ṯan לָכֶ֣ם you lā·ḵem הַשַּׁבָּת֒ the Sabbath ; haš·šab·bāṯ עַל־ that is why ‘al- כֵּ֠ן . . . kên הַשִּׁשִּׁ֖י on the sixth haš·šiš·šî בַּיּ֥וֹם day bay·yō·wm ה֣וּא He hū נֹתֵ֥ן will give nō·ṯên לָכֶ֛ם you lā·ḵem לֶ֣חֶם bread le·ḥem יוֹמָ֑יִם for two days . yō·w·mā·yim הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ On the seventh haš·šə·ḇî·‘î בַּיּ֥וֹם day , bay·yō·wm אִ֣ישׁ everyone ’îš שְׁב֣וּ׀ must stay šə·ḇū תַּחְתָּ֗יו where he is ; taḥ·tāw אַל־ no ’al- אִ֛ישׁ one ’îš יֵ֥צֵא may leave yê·ṣê מִמְּקֹמ֖וֹ his place . ” mim·mə·qō·mōw Exodus 16:30 הָעָ֖ם So the people hā·‘ām וַיִּשְׁבְּת֥וּ rested way·yiš·bə·ṯū הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃ on the seventh haš·šə·ḇi·‘î בַּיּ֥וֹם day . bay·yō·wm Exodus 16:31 בֵֽית־ Now the house ḇêṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקְרְא֧וּ called [the bread] way·yiq·rə·’ū שְׁמ֖וֹ . . . šə·mōw מָ֑ן manna . mān וְה֗וּא It wə·hū לָבָ֔ן was white lā·ḇān גַּד֙ like coriander gaḏ כְּזֶ֤רַע seed kə·ze·ra‘ וְטַעְמ֖וֹ and tasted wə·ṭa‘·mōw כְּצַפִּיחִ֥ת like wafers kə·ṣap·pî·ḥiṯ בִּדְבָֽשׁ׃ made with honey . biḏ·ḇāš Exodus 16:32 מֹשֶׁ֗ה Moses mō·šeh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer זֶ֤ה “ This zeh הַדָּבָר֙ . . . had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֣ר is what ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh מְלֹ֤א . . . mə·lō צִוָּ֣ה has commanded : ṣiw·wāh לְמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת ‘ Keep lə·miš·me·reṯ הָעֹ֙מֶר֙ an omer hā·‘ō·mer מִמֶּ֔נּוּ of [manna] mim·men·nū לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֑ם for the generations to come , lə·ḏō·rō·ṯê·ḵem לְמַ֣עַן׀ so that lə·ma·‘an יִרְא֣וּ they may see yir·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַלֶּ֗חֶם the bread hal·le·ḥem אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer הֶאֱכַ֤לְתִּי I fed he·’ĕ·ḵal·tî אֶתְכֶם֙ - ’eṯ·ḵem בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר you in the wilderness bam·miḏ·bār בְּהוֹצִיאִ֥י when I brought you bə·hō·w·ṣî·’î אֶתְכֶ֖ם - ’eṯ·ḵem מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt . ’” miṣ·rā·yim
