וַיִּלְקְט֤וּ gathered way·yil·qə·ṭū כְּפִ֣י as much kə·p̄î אָכְל֑וֹ as was needed , ’ā·ḵə·lōw הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ and when the sun haš·še·meš וְחַ֥ם grew hot , wə·ḥam וְנָמָֽס׃ it melted away . wə·nā·mās Exodus 16:22 וַיְהִ֣י׀ - way·hî הַשִּׁשִּׁ֗י On the sixth haš·šiš·šî בַּיּ֣וֹם day , bay·yō·wm לָֽקְט֥וּ they gathered lā·qə·ṭū מִשְׁנֶ֔ה twice miš·neh לֶ֙חֶם֙ as much food — le·ḥem שְׁנֵ֥י two šə·nê הָעֹ֖מֶר omers hā·‘ō·mer לָאֶחָ֑ד per person — lā·’e·ḥāḏ כָּל־ and all kāl- נְשִׂיאֵ֣י the leaders nə·śî·’ê הָֽעֵדָ֔ה of the congregation hā·‘ê·ḏāh וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ came way·yā·ḇō·’ū וַיַּגִּ֖ידוּ and reported way·yag·gî·ḏū לְמֹשֶֽׁה׃ this to Moses . lə·mō·šeh Exodus 16:23 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר He told them , way·yō·mer אֲלֵהֶ֗ם . . . ’ă·lê·hem ה֚וּא “ This hū אֲשֶׁ֣ר is what ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֣ר has said : dib·ber מָחָ֑ר ‘ Tomorrow mā·ḥār שַׁבָּת֧וֹן [is to be] a day of complete rest , šab·bā·ṯō·wn קֹ֛דֶשׁ a holy qō·ḏeš שַׁבַּת־ Sabbath šab·baṯ- לַֽיהוָ֖ה to YHWH . Yah·weh אֵ֣ת So ’êṯ תֹּאפ֞וּ bake tō·p̄ū אֲשֶׁר־ what ’ă·šer- אֵפ֗וּ you want to bake , ’ê·p̄ū וְאֵ֤ת and wə·’êṯ תְּבַשְּׁלוּ֙ boil tə·ḇaš·šə·lū אֲשֶֽׁר־ what ’ă·šer- בַּשֵּׁ֔לוּ you want to boil . baš·šê·lū הַנִּ֧יחוּ Then set aside han·nî·ḥū וְאֵת֙ - wə·’êṯ כָּל־ whatever kāl- הָ֣עֹדֵ֔ף remains hā·‘ō·ḏêp̄ לָכֶ֛ם lā·ḵem לְמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת and keep it lə·miš·me·reṯ עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הַבֹּֽקֶר׃ morning . ’” hab·bō·qer Exodus 16:24 וַיַּנִּ֤יחוּ So they set it aside way·yan·nî·ḥū אֹתוֹ֙ - ’ō·ṯōw עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הַבֹּ֔קֶר morning hab·bō·qer כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר as ka·’ă·šer מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses mō·šeh צִוָּ֣ה had commanded , ṣiw·wāh וְלֹ֣א and it did not wə·lō הִבְאִ֔ישׁ smell hiḇ·’îš לֹא־ [or] lō- הָ֥יְתָה contain hā·yə·ṯāh בּֽוֹ׃ . . . bōw וְרִמָּ֖ה any maggots . wə·rim·māh Exodus 16:25 אִכְלֻ֣הוּ “ Eat it today ’iḵ·lu·hū הַיּ֔וֹם . . . , ” hay·yō·wm מֹשֶׁה֙ Moses mō·šeh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said , way·yō·mer כִּֽי־ “ because kî- הַיּ֖וֹם today hay·yō·wm שַׁבָּ֥ת is a Sabbath šab·bāṯ לַיהוָ֑ה to YHWH . Yah·weh הַיּ֕וֹם Today hay·yō·wm לֹ֥א you will not lō תִמְצָאֻ֖הוּ find anything ṯim·ṣā·’u·hū בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃ in the field . baś·śā·ḏeh Exodus 16:26 שֵׁ֥שֶׁת For six šê·šeṯ יָמִ֖ים days yā·mîm תִּלְקְטֻ֑הוּ you may gather , til·qə·ṭu·hū הַשְּׁבִיעִ֛י but on the seventh haš·šə·ḇî·‘î וּבַיּ֧וֹם day , ū·ḇay·yō·wm שַׁבָּ֖ת the Sabbath , šab·bāṯ יִֽהְיֶה־ it will not be [there] yih·yeh- בּֽוֹ׃ . . . bōw לֹ֥א . . . . ” lō
