חָז֖וֹן vision ḥā·zō·wn מֵיְהוָֽה׃ס from YHWH . Yah·weh Lamentations 2:10 זִקְנֵ֣י The elders ziq·nê בַת־ of the Daughter ḇaṯ- צִיּ֔וֹן of Zion ṣî·yō·wn יֵשְׁב֨וּ sit yê·šə·ḇū לָאָ֤רֶץ on the ground lā·’ā·reṣ יִדְּמוּ֙ in silence . yid·də·mū הֶֽעֱל֤וּ They have thrown he·‘ĕ·lū עָפָר֙ dust ‘ā·p̄ār עַל־ on ‘al- רֹאשָׁ֔ם their heads rō·šām חָגְר֖וּ and put on ḥā·ḡə·rū שַׂקִּ֑ים sackcloth . śaq·qîm בְּתוּלֹ֖ת The young women bə·ṯū·lōṯ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ס of Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim הוֹרִ֤ידוּ have bowed hō·w·rî·ḏū רֹאשָׁ֔ן their heads rō·šān לָאָ֙רֶץ֙ to the ground . lā·’ā·reṣ Lamentations 2:11 עֵינַי֙ My eyes ‘ê·nay כָּל֨וּ fail kā·lū בַדְּמָע֤וֹת from weeping ; ḇad·də·mā·‘ō·wṯ חֳמַרְמְר֣וּ I am churning ḥo·mar·mə·rū מֵעַ֔י within . mê·‘ay כְּבֵדִ֔י My heart kə·ḇê·ḏî נִשְׁפַּ֤ךְ is poured out niš·paḵ לָאָ֙רֶץ֙ in grief lā·’ā·reṣ עַל־ over ‘al- שֶׁ֖בֶר the destruction še·ḇer בַּת־ of the daughter baṯ- עַמִּ֑י of my people , ‘am·mî עוֹלֵל֙ because children ‘ō·w·lêl וְיוֹנֵ֔ק and infants wə·yō·w·nêq בֵּֽעָטֵ֤ף faint bê·‘ā·ṭêp̄ בִּרְחֹב֖וֹת in the streets bir·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ קִרְיָֽה׃ס of the city . qir·yāh Lamentations 2:12 יֹֽאמְר֔וּ They cry out yō·mə·rū לְאִמֹּתָם֙ to their mothers : lə·’im·mō·ṯām אַיֵּ֖ה “ Where ’ay·yêh דָּגָ֣ן is the grain dā·ḡān וָיָ֑יִן and wine ? ” wā·yā·yin בְּהִֽתְעַטְּפָ֤ם as they faint bə·hiṯ·‘aṭ·ṭə·p̄ām כֶּֽחָלָל֙ like the wounded ke·ḥā·lāl בִּרְחֹב֣וֹת in the streets bir·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ עִ֔יר of the city , ‘îr נַפְשָׁ֔ם as their lives nap̄·šām בְּהִשְׁתַּפֵּ֣ךְ fade away bə·hiš·tap·pêḵ אֶל־ in ’el- חֵ֖יק the arms ḥêq אִמֹּתָֽם׃ס of their mothers . ’im·mō·ṯām Lamentations 2:13 מָֽה־ What māh- אֲעִידֵ֞ךְ can I say for you ? ’ă·‘î·ḏêḵ לָּ֗ךְ To lāḵ מָ֣ה what māh אֲדַמֶּה־ can I compare you , ’ă·ḏam·meh- הַבַּת֙ O Daughter hab·baṯ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם of Jerusalem ? yə·rū·šā·lim לָּךְ֙ To lāḵ מָ֤ה what māh אַשְׁוֶה־ can I liken you , ’aš·weh- וַאֲנַֽחֲמֵ֔ךְ that I may console you , wa·’ă·na·ḥă·mêḵ בְּתוּלַ֖ת O Virgin bə·ṯū·laṯ בַּת־ Daughter baṯ- צִיּ֑וֹן of Zion ? ṣî·yō·wn כִּֽי־ For kî- שִׁבְרֵ֖ךְ your wound šiḇ·rêḵ גָד֥וֹל is as deep ḡā·ḏō·wl כַּיָּ֛ם as the sea . kay·yām מִ֥י Who mî יִרְפָּא־ can ever heal yir·pā- לָֽךְ׃ס you ? lāḵ Lamentations 2:14 חָ֤זוּ The visions ḥā·zū נְבִיאַ֗יִךְ of your prophets nə·ḇî·’a·yiḵ לָךְ֙ lāḵ שָׁ֣וְא were empty šāw וְתָפֵ֔ל and deceptive ; wə·ṯā·p̄êl וְלֹֽא־ they did not wə·lō- גִלּ֥וּ expose ḡil·lū עַל־ . . . ‘al- עֲוֺנֵ֖ךְ your guilt ‘ă·wō·nêḵ לְהָשִׁ֣יב to ward off lə·hā·šîḇ שְׁבִיתֵךְ your captivity . šə·ḇī·ṯēḵ מַשְׂא֥וֹת The burdens maś·’ō·wṯ וַיֶּ֣חֱזוּ they envisioned way·ye·ḥĕ·zū לָ֔ךְ for you lāḵ
