נֹ֖כַח in nō·ḵaḥ פְּנֵ֣י the presence pə·nê אֲדֹנָ֑י of the Lord . ’ă·ḏō·nāy שְׂאִ֧י Lift up śə·’î כַּפַּ֗יִךְ your hands kap·pa·yiḵ אֵלָ֣יו to Him ’ê·lāw עַל־ for ‘al- נֶ֙פֶשׁ֙ the lives ne·p̄eš עֽוֹלָלַ֔יִךְ of your children ‘ō·w·lā·la·yiḵ הָעֲטוּפִ֥ים who are fainting hā·‘ă·ṭū·p̄îm בְּרָעָ֖ב from hunger bə·rā·‘āḇ בְּרֹ֥אשׁ on the corner bə·rōš כָּל־ of every kāl- חוּצֽוֹת׃ס street . ḥū·ṣō·wṯ Lamentations 2:20 רְאֵ֤ה Look , rə·’êh יְהוָה֙ O YHWH , Yah·weh וְֽהַבִּ֔יטָה and consider : wə·hab·bî·ṭāh לְמִ֖י Whom lə·mî עוֹלַ֣לְתָּ have You [ever] treated ‘ō·w·lal·tā כֹּ֑ה like this ? kōh אִם־ Should ’im- נָשִׁ֤ים women nā·šîm תֹּאכַ֨לְנָה eat tō·ḵal·nāh פִּרְיָם֙ their offspring , pir·yām עֹלֲלֵ֣י the infants ‘ō·lă·lê טִפֻּחִ֔ים they have nurtured ? ṭip·pu·ḥîm כֹּהֵ֥ן Should priests kō·hên וְנָבִֽיא׃ס and prophets wə·nā·ḇî יֵהָרֵ֛ג be killed yê·hā·rêḡ בְּמִקְדַּ֥שׁ in the sanctuary bə·miq·daš אֲדֹנָ֖י of the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy אִם־ . . . ? ’im- Lamentations 2:21 נַ֣עַר Both young na·‘ar וְזָקֵ֔ן and old wə·zā·qên שָׁכְב֨וּ lie together šā·ḵə·ḇū לָאָ֤רֶץ in the dust lā·’ā·reṣ חוּצוֹת֙ of the streets . ḥū·ṣō·wṯ וּבַחוּרַ֖י My young men ū·ḇa·ḥū·ray בְּתוּלֹתַ֥י and maidens bə·ṯū·lō·ṯay נָפְל֣וּ have fallen nā·p̄ə·lū בֶחָ֑רֶב by the sword . ḇe·ḥā·reḇ הָרַ֙גְתָּ֙ You have slain [them] hā·raḡ·tā בְּי֣וֹם in the day bə·yō·wm אַפֶּ֔ךָ of Your anger ; ’ap·pe·ḵā טָבַ֖חְתָּ You have slaughtered [them] ṭā·ḇaḥ·tā לֹ֥א without lō חָמָֽלְתָּ׃ס compassion . ḥā·mā·lə·tā Lamentations 2:22 תִּקְרָא֩ You summoned tiq·rā מְגוּרַי֙ my attackers mə·ḡū·ray מִסָּבִ֔יב on every side , mis·sā·ḇîḇ כְי֨וֹם as for the day ḵə·yō·wm מוֹעֵ֤ד of an appointed feast . mō·w·‘êḏ בְּי֥וֹם In the day bə·yō·wm יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH’s Yah·weh אַף־ anger ’ap̄- וְלֹ֥א no wə·lō הָיָ֛ה . . . hā·yāh פָּלִ֣יט one escaped pā·lîṭ וְשָׂרִ֑יד or survived ; wə·śā·rîḏ אֹיְבִ֥י my enemy ’ō·yə·ḇî כִלָּֽם׃פ has destroyed ḵil·lām אֲשֶׁר־ those ’ă·šer- טִפַּ֥חְתִּי I nurtured ṭip·paḥ·tî וְרִבִּ֖יתִי and reared . wə·rib·bî·ṯî Lamentations 3:1 אֲנִ֤י I ’ă·nî הַגֶּ֙בֶר֙ am the man hag·ge·ḇer רָאָ֣ה who has seen rā·’āh עֳנִ֔י affliction ‘o·nî בְּשֵׁ֖בֶט under the rod bə·šê·ḇeṭ עֶבְרָתֽוֹ׃ of [God’s] wrath . ‘eḇ·rā·ṯōw Lamentations 3:2 אוֹתִ֥י - ’ō·w·ṯî נָהַ֛ג He has driven me away nā·haḡ וַיֹּלַ֖ךְ and made me walk way·yō·laḵ חֹ֥שֶׁךְ in darkness ḥō·šeḵ וְלֹא־ instead of wə·lō- אֽוֹר׃ light . ’ō·wr Lamentations 3:3 אַ֣ךְ Indeed , ’aḵ יָשֻׁ֛ב He keeps turning yā·šuḇ יַהֲפֹ֥ךְ . . . ya·hă·p̄ōḵ יָד֖וֹ His hand yā·ḏōw בִּ֥י against me bî כָּל־ all day long kāl-
