Jeremiah 51:64 וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ Then you are to say , wə·’ā·mar·tā כָּ֠כָה ‘ In the same way kā·ḵāh בָּבֶ֤ל Babylon bā·ḇel תִּשְׁקַ֨ע will sink tiš·qa‘ וְלֹֽא־ and never wə·lō- תָקוּם֙ rise again , ṯā·qūm מִפְּנֵ֣י because of mip·pə·nê הָרָעָ֗ה the disaster hā·rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁ֧ר - ’ă·šer אָנֹכִ֛י I ’ā·nō·ḵî מֵבִ֥יא will bring mê·ḇî עָלֶ֖יהָ upon her . ‘ā·le·hā וְיָעֵ֑פוּ And [her people] will grow weary . ’” wə·yā·‘ê·p̄ū הֵ֖נָּה Here hên·nāh עַד־ end ‘aḏ- דִּבְרֵ֥י the words diḇ·rê יִרְמְיָֽהוּ׃ס of Jeremiah . yir·mə·yā·hū Jeremiah 52:1 צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ Zedekiah ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū עֶשְׂרִ֨ים was twenty-one ‘eś·rîm וְאַחַ֤ת . . . wə·’a·ḥaṯ שָׁנָה֙ years šā·nāh בֶּן־ old ben- בְמָלְכ֔וֹ when he became king , ḇə·mā·lə·ḵōw מָלַ֖ךְ and he reigned mā·laḵ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם in Jerusalem bî·rū·šā·lim וְאַחַ֤ת eleven wə·’a·ḥaṯ עֶשְׂרֵה֙ . . . ‘eś·rêh שָׁנָ֔ה years . šā·nāh אִמּ֔וֹ His mother’s ’im·mōw וְשֵׁ֣ם name wə·šêm חֲמִיטַל was Hamutal ḥă·mī·ṭal בַּֽת־ daughter baṯ- יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ of Jeremiah ; yir·mə·yā·hū מִלִּבְנָֽה׃ she was from Libnah . mil·liḇ·nāh Jeremiah 52:2 וַיַּ֥עַשׂ And [Zedekiah] did way·ya·‘aś הָרַ֖ע evil hā·ra‘ בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh כְּכֹ֥ל just as kə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יְהוֹיָקִֽים׃ Jehoiakim yə·hō·w·yā·qîm עָשָׂ֖ה had done . ‘ā·śāh Jeremiah 52:3 כִּ֣י׀ For kî עַל־ because ‘al- אַ֣ף of the anger ’ap̄ יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH , Yah·weh הָֽיְתָה֙ [all this] happened hā·yə·ṯāh בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֣ם in Jerusalem bî·rū·šā·lim וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה and Judah , wî·hū·ḏāh עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הִשְׁלִיכ֥וֹ He finally banished hiš·lî·ḵōw אוֹתָ֖ם them ’ō·w·ṯām מֵעַ֣ל from mê·‘al פָּנָ֑יו His presence . pā·nāw צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ And Zedekiah also ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū וַיִּמְרֹ֥ד rebelled way·yim·rōḏ בְּמֶ֥לֶךְ against the king bə·me·leḵ בָּבֶֽל׃ of Babylon . bā·ḇel Jeremiah 52:4 וַיְהִי֩ So way·hî הַתְּשִׁעִ֜ית in the ninth hat·tə·ši·‘îṯ בַשָּׁנָ֨ה year ḇaš·šā·nāh לְמָלְכ֗וֹ of Zedekiah’s reign , lə·mā·lə·ḵōw בֶּעָשׂ֣וֹר on the tenth be·‘ā·śō·wr לַחֹדֶשׁ֒ . . . la·ḥō·ḏeš הָעֲשִׂירִי֮ day of the tenth hā·‘ă·śî·rî בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ month , ba·ḥō·ḏeš נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֨ר Nebuchadnezzar nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- בָּבֶ֜ל of Babylon bā·ḇel ה֤וּא . . . hū בָּ֠א marched bā עַל־ against ‘al- יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim וְכָל־ with his entire wə·ḵāl חֵילוֹ֙ army . ḥê·lōw וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ They encamped way·ya·ḥă·nū עָלֶ֑יהָ outside [the city] ‘ā·le·hā וַיִּבְנ֥וּ and built way·yiḇ·nū דָּיֵ֖ק a siege wall dā·yêq סָבִֽיב׃ all sā·ḇîḇ עָלֶ֛יהָ around it . ‘ā·le·hā Jeremiah 52:5 הָעִ֖יר And the city hā·‘îr וַתָּבֹ֥א was kept wat·tā·ḇō בַּמָּצ֑וֹר under siege bam·mā·ṣō·wr
