וַתִּתָּפֵ֖שׂ has been seized . wat·tit·tā·p̄êś אֵ֣יךְ What ’êḵ לְשַׁמָּ֛ה a horror lə·šam·māh בָּבֶ֖ל Babylon bā·ḇel הָיְתָ֧ה has become hā·yə·ṯāh בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ among the nations ! bag·gō·w·yim Jeremiah 51:42 הַיָּ֑ם The sea hay·yām עָלָ֥ה has come up ‘ā·lāh עַל־ over ‘al- בָּבֶ֖ל Babylon ; bā·ḇel נִכְסָֽתָה׃ she is covered niḵ·sā·ṯāh בַּהֲמ֥וֹן in turbulent ba·hă·mō·wn גַּלָּ֖יו waves . gal·lāw Jeremiah 51:43 עָרֶ֙יהָ֙ Her cities ‘ā·re·hā הָי֤וּ have become hā·yū לְשַׁמָּ֔ה a desolation , lə·šam·māh צִיָּ֣ה a dry ṣî·yāh וַעֲרָבָ֑ה and arid wa·‘ă·rā·ḇāh אֶ֖רֶץ land , ’e·reṣ אֶ֗רֶץ a land ’e·reṣ בָּהֵן֙ where bā·hên לֹֽא־ no lō- כָּל־ . . . kāl- אִ֔ישׁ one ’îš יֵשֵׁ֤ב lives , yê·šêḇ וְלֹֽא־ where no wə·lō- בֶּן־ son ben- אָדָֽם׃ of man ’ā·ḏām יַעֲבֹ֥ר passes through ya·‘ă·ḇōr בָּהֵ֖ן . . . . bā·hên Jeremiah 51:44 וּפָקַדְתִּ֨י I will punish ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî עַל־ . . . ‘al- בֵּ֜ל Bel bêl בְּבָבֶ֗ל in Babylon . bə·ḇā·ḇel וְהֹצֵאתִ֤י I will make him spew out wə·hō·ṣê·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִפִּ֔יו - mip·pîw בִּלְעוֹ֙ what he swallowed . bil·‘ōw גּוֹיִ֑ם The nations gō·w·yim וְלֹֽא־ will no wə·lō- ע֖וֹד longer ‘ō·wḏ יִנְהֲר֥וּ stream yin·hă·rū אֵלָ֛יו to him ; ’ê·lāw גַּם־ even gam- חוֹמַ֥ת the wall ḥō·w·maṯ בָּבֶ֖ל of Babylon bā·ḇel נָפָֽלָה׃ will fall . nā·p̄ā·lāh Jeremiah 51:45 צְא֤וּ Come out ṣə·’ū מִתּוֹכָהּ֙ of her , mit·tō·w·ḵāh עַמִּ֔י My people ! ‘am·mî וּמַלְּט֖וּ Save ū·mal·lə·ṭū נַפְשׁ֑וֹ your lives , nap̄·šōw אִ֣ישׁ each of you , ’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מֵחֲר֖וֹן from the fierce mê·ḥă·rō·wn אַף־ anger ’ap̄- יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 51:46 וּפֶן־ Do not ū·p̄en- לְבַבְכֶם֙ let your heart lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem יֵרַ֤ךְ grow faint , yê·raḵ וְתִֽירְא֔וּ and do not be afraid wə·ṯî·rə·’ū בַּשְּׁמוּעָ֖ה when the rumor baš·šə·mū·‘āh הַנִּשְׁמַ֣עַת is heard han·niš·ma·‘aṯ בָּאָ֑רֶץ in the land ; bā·’ā·reṣ הַשְּׁמוּעָ֗ה for a rumor haš·šə·mū·‘āh וּבָ֧א will come ū·ḇā בַשָּׁנָ֣ה one year — ḇaš·šā·nāh וְאַחֲרָ֤יו and then wə·’a·ḥă·rāw הַשְּׁמוּעָ֔ה another haš·šə·mū·‘āh בַּשָּׁנָה֙ the next year — baš·šā·nāh וְחָמָ֣ס of violence wə·ḥā·mās בָּאָ֔רֶץ in the land bā·’ā·reṣ וּמֹשֵׁ֖ל and of ruler ū·mō·šêl עַל־ against ‘al- מֹשֵֽׁל׃ ruler . mō·šêl Jeremiah 51:47 לָכֵן֙ Therefore , lā·ḵên הִנֵּ֣ה behold , hin·nêh יָמִ֣ים the days yā·mîm בָּאִ֔ים are coming bā·’îm וּפָקַדְתִּי֙ when I will punish ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî עַל־ . . . ‘al- פְּסִילֵ֣י the idols pə·sî·lê
