רִ֔יק like an empty rîq כְּלִ֣י vessel ; kə·lî בְּלָעָנוּ he has swallowed me bə·lå̄·ʿå̄·nū כַּתַּנִּ֔ין like a monster ; kat·tan·nîn מִלָּ֥א he filled mil·lā כְרֵשׂ֖וֹ his belly ḵə·rê·śōw מֵֽעֲדָנָ֑י with my delicacies mê·‘ă·ḏā·nāy הֱדִיחָנוּ׃ [and] vomited me out . hɛ̆·ḏī·ḥå̄·nū Jeremiah 51:35 חֲמָסִ֤י May the violence done to me ḥă·mā·sî וּשְׁאֵרִי֙ and to my flesh ū·šə·’ê·rî עַל־ be upon ‘al- בָּבֶ֔ל Babylon ,” bā·ḇel תֹּאמַ֖ר says tō·mar יֹשֶׁ֣בֶת the dweller yō·še·ḇeṯ צִיּ֑וֹן of Zion . ṣî·yō·wn וְדָמִי֙ “ May my blood wə·ḏā·mî אֶל־ be on ’el- יֹשְׁבֵ֣י the dwellers yō·šə·ḇê כַשְׂדִּ֔ים of Chaldea ,” ḵaś·dîm תֹּאמַ֖ר says tō·mar יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ס Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim Jeremiah 51:36 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên כֹּ֚ה this is what kōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar הִנְנִי־ “ Behold , hin·nî- רָב֙ I will plead rāḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רִיבֵ֔ךְ your case rî·ḇêḵ וְנִקַּמְתִּ֖י and take vengeance wə·niq·qam·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נִקְמָתֵ֑ךְ on your behalf ; niq·mā·ṯêḵ וְהַחֲרַבְתִּי֙ I will dry up wə·ha·ḥă·raḇ·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יַמָּ֔הּ her sea yam·māh מְקוֹרָֽהּ׃ and make her springs mə·qō·w·rāh וְהֹבַשְׁתִּ֖י run dry wə·hō·ḇaš·tî אֶת־ - . ’eṯ- Jeremiah 51:37 בָבֶ֨ל׀ Babylon ḇā·ḇel וְהָיְתָה֩ will become wə·hā·yə·ṯāh לְגַלִּ֧ים׀ a heap of rubble , lə·ḡal·lîm מְעוֹן־ a haunt mə·‘ō·wn- תַּנִּ֛ים for jackals , tan·nîm שַׁמָּ֥ה an object of horror šam·māh וּשְׁרֵקָ֖ה and scorn , ū·šə·rê·qāh מֵאֵ֥ין without mê·’ên יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ inhabitant . yō·wō·šêḇ Jeremiah 51:38 יִשְׁאָ֑גוּ They will roar yiš·’ā·ḡū יַחְדָּ֖ו together yaḥ·dāw כַּכְּפִרִ֣ים like young lions ; kak·kə·p̄i·rîm נָעֲר֖וּ they will growl nā·‘ă·rū אֲרָיֽוֹת׃ like lion ’ă·rā·yō·wṯ כְּגוֹרֵ֥י cubs . kə·ḡō·w·rê Jeremiah 51:39 בְּחֻמָּ֞ם While they are flushed with heat , bə·ḥum·mām אָשִׁ֣ית I will serve ’ā·šîṯ אֶת־ them ’eṯ- מִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֗ם a feast , miš·tê·hem וְהִשְׁכַּרְתִּים֙ and I will make them drunk wə·hiš·kar·tîm לְמַ֣עַן so that lə·ma·‘an יַעֲלֹ֔זוּ they may revel ; ya·‘ă·lō·zū וְיָשְׁנ֥וּ then they will fall asleep wə·yā·šə·nū שְׁנַת־ . . . šə·naṯ- עוֹלָ֖ם forever ‘ō·w·lām וְלֹ֣א and never wə·lō יָקִ֑יצוּ wake up , yā·qî·ṣū נְאֻ֖ם declares nə·’um יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 51:40 אֽוֹרִידֵ֖ם I will bring them down ’ō·w·rî·ḏêm כְּכָרִ֣ים like lambs kə·ḵā·rîm לִטְב֑וֹחַ to the slaughter , liṭ·ḇō·w·aḥ כְּאֵילִ֖ים like rams kə·’ê·lîm עִם־ with ‘im- עַתּוּדִֽים׃ male goats . ‘at·tū·ḏîm Jeremiah 51:41 אֵ֚יךְ How ’êḵ שֵׁשַׁ֔ךְ Sheshach šê·šaḵ נִלְכְּדָ֣ה has been captured ! nil·kə·ḏāh תְּהִלַּ֣ת The praise tə·hil·laṯ כָּל־ of all kāl- הָאָ֑רֶץ the earth hā·’ā·reṣ
