אָדָֽם׃ס . . . ’ā·ḏām יָג֥וּר will abide yā·ḡūr בָּ֖הּ there . ” bāh Jeremiah 49:34 דְבַר־ This is the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֛ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer הָיָ֧ה came hā·yāh אֶל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū הַנָּבִ֖יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî אֶל־ concerning ’el- עֵילָ֑ם Elam ‘ê·lām בְּרֵאשִׁ֗ית at the beginning bə·rê·šîṯ מַלְכ֛וּת of the reign mal·ḵūṯ צִדְקִיָּ֥ה of Zedekiah ṣiḏ·qî·yāh מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . . lê·mōr Jeremiah 49:35 כֹּ֤ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar הִנְנִ֥י “ Behold , hin·nî שֹׁבֵ֖ר I will shatter šō·ḇêr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵילָ֑ם Elam’s ‘ê·lām קֶ֣שֶׁת bow , qe·šeṯ רֵאשִׁ֖ית the mainstay rê·šîṯ גְּבוּרָתָֽם׃ of their might . gə·ḇū·rā·ṯām Jeremiah 49:36 וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י I will bring wə·hê·ḇê·ṯî אַרְבַּ֣ע the four ’ar·ba‘ רוּח֗וֹת winds rū·ḥō·wṯ אֶל־ against ’el- עֵילָ֜ם Elam ‘ê·lām מֵֽאַרְבַּע֙ from the four mê·’ar·ba‘ קְצ֣וֹת corners qə·ṣō·wṯ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם of the heavens , haš·šā·ma·yim וְזֵ֣רִתִ֔ים and I will scatter them wə·zê·ri·ṯîm לְכֹ֖ל to all lə·ḵōl הָאֵ֑לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh הָרֻח֣וֹת winds . hā·ru·ḥō·wṯ וְלֹֽא־ There will not wə·lō- יִהְיֶ֣ה be yih·yeh הַגּ֔וֹי a nation hag·gō·w אֲשֶׁ֛ר to which ’ă·šer עוֹלָם׃ Elam’s ʿō·lå̄m נִדְּחֵ֥י exiles nid·də·ḥê לֹֽא־ will not lō- יָב֥וֹא go yā·ḇō·w שָׁ֖ם . . . . šām Jeremiah 49:37 וְהַחְתַּתִּ֣י So I will shatter wə·haḥ·tat·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵ֠ילָם Elam ‘ê·lām לִפְנֵ֨י before lip̄·nê אֹיְבֵיהֶ֜ם their foes , ’ō·yə·ḇê·hem וְלִפְנֵ֣י׀ before wə·lip̄·nê מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י those who seek mə·ḇaq·šê נַפְשָׁ֗ם their lives . nap̄·šām וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י I will bring wə·hê·ḇê·ṯî רָעָ֛ה disaster rā·‘āh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֲלֵיהֶ֧ם׀ upon them , ‘ă·lê·hem חֲר֥וֹן even My fierce ḥă·rō·wn אַפִּ֖י anger , ” ’ap·pî נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֤י “ I will send out wə·šil·laḥ·tî הַחֶ֔רֶב the sword ha·ḥe·reḇ אַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֙ after them ’a·ḥă·rê·hem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַ֥ד until ‘aḏ כַּלּוֹתִ֖י I finish them off . kal·lō·w·ṯî אוֹתָֽם׃ - ’ō·w·ṯām Jeremiah 49:38 וְשַׂמְתִּ֥י I will set wə·śam·tî כִסְאִ֖י My throne ḵis·’î בְּעֵילָ֑ם in Elam , bə·‘ê·lām וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֥י and destroy wə·ha·’ă·ḇaḏ·tî מִשָּׁ֛ם its miš·šām מֶ֥לֶךְ king me·leḵ וְשָׂרִ֖ים and officials , ” wə·śā·rîm נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH .
