Jeremiah 49:22 הִנֵּ֤ה Look ! hin·nêh כַנֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ An eagle ḵan·ne·šer יַעֲלֶ֣ה will soar ya·‘ă·leh וְיִדְאֶ֔ה and swoop down , wə·yiḏ·’eh וְיִפְרֹ֥שׂ spreading wə·yip̄·rōś כְּנָפָ֖יו its wings kə·nā·p̄āw עַל־ over ‘al- בָּצְרָ֑ה Bozrah . bāṣ·rāh הַה֔וּא In that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm לֵ֞ב the hearts lêḇ אֱדוֹם֙ of Edom’s ’ĕ·ḏō·wm גִּבּוֹרֵ֤י mighty men gib·bō·w·rê וְֽ֠הָיָה will be wə·hā·yāh כְּלֵ֖ב like the heart kə·lêḇ אִשָּׁ֥ה of a woman ’iš·šāh מְצֵרָֽה׃ס in labor . mə·ṣê·rāh Jeremiah 49:23 לְדַמֶּ֗שֶׂק Concerning Damascus : lə·ḏam·me·śeq חֲמָת֙ “ Hamath ḥă·māṯ וְאַרְפָּ֔ד and Arpad wə·’ar·pāḏ בּ֤וֹשָֽׁה are put to shame , bō·wō·šāh כִּי־ for kî- שָׁמְע֖וּ they have heard šā·mə·‘ū רָעָ֛ה a bad rā·‘āh שְׁמֻעָ֥ה report ; šə·mu·‘āh נָמֹ֑גוּ they are agitated nā·mō·ḡū בַּיָּ֣ם like the sea ; bay·yām דְּאָגָ֔ה their anxiety də·’ā·ḡāh לֹ֥א cannot lō יוּכָֽל׃ . . . yū·ḵāl הַשְׁקֵ֖ט be calmed . haš·qêṭ Jeremiah 49:24 דַמֶּ֛שֶׂק Damascus ḏam·me·śeq רָפְתָ֥ה has become feeble ; rā·p̄ə·ṯāh הִפְנְתָ֥ה she has turned hip̄·nə·ṯāh לָנ֖וּס to flee . lā·nūs וְרֶ֣טֶט׀ Panic wə·re·ṭeṭ הֶחֱזִ֑יקָה has gripped her ; he·ḥĕ·zî·qāh צָרָ֧ה anguish ṣā·rāh וַחֲבָלִ֛ים and pain wa·ḥă·ḇā·lîm אֲחָזַ֖תָּה have seized her ’ă·ḥā·zat·tāh כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃ like a woman in labor . kay·yō·w·lê·ḏāh Jeremiah 49:25 אֵ֥יךְ How ’êḵ עִ֣יר is the city ‘îr תְּהִלָּה of praise tə·hil·lå̄h לֹֽא־ not lō- עֻזְּבָ֖ה forsaken , ‘uz·zə·ḇāh קִרְיַ֖ת the town qir·yaṯ מְשׂוֹשִֽׂי׃ that brings Me joy ? mə·śō·w·śî Jeremiah 49:26 לָכֵ֛ן For lā·ḵên בַחוּרֶ֖יהָ her young men ḇa·ḥū·re·hā יִפְּל֥וּ will fall yip·pə·lū בִּרְחֹבֹתֶ֑יהָ in the streets , bir·ḥō·ḇō·ṯe·hā וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl אַנְשֵׁ֨י her warriors ’an·šê הַמִּלְחָמָ֤ה . . . ham·mil·ḥā·māh יִדַּ֙מּוּ֙ will be silenced yid·dam·mū הַה֔וּא in that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day , ” bay·yō·wm נְאֻ֖ם declares nə·’um יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָאֽוֹת׃ of Hosts . ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ Jeremiah 49:27 וְהִצַּ֥תִּי “ I will set fire wə·hiṣ·ṣat·tî אֵ֖שׁ . . . ’êš בְּחוֹמַ֣ת to the walls bə·ḥō·w·maṯ דַּמָּ֑שֶׂק of Damascus ; dam·mā·śeq וְאָכְלָ֖ה it will consume wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh אַרְמְנ֥וֹת the fortresses ’ar·mə·nō·wṯ בֶּן־ vvv ben- הֲדָֽד׃ס of Ben-hadad . ” hă·ḏāḏ Jeremiah 49:28 לְקֵדָ֣ר׀ Concerning Kedar lə·qê·ḏār וּֽלְמַמְלְכ֣וֹת and the kingdoms ū·lə·mam·lə·ḵō·wṯ חָצ֗וֹר of Hazor , ḥā·ṣō·wr אֲשֶׁ֤ר which ’ă·šer נְבוּכַדְרֶאצּוֹר Nebuchadnezzar nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·rɛṣ·ṣōr מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- בָּבֶ֔ל of Babylon bā·ḇel הִכָּה֙ defeated , hik·kāh כֹּ֖ה this is what kōh יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar ק֚וּמוּ “ Rise up , qū·mū עֲל֣וּ advance ‘ă·lū
