Jeremiah 44:16 הַדָּבָ֛ר “ As for the word had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- דִּבַּ֥רְתָּ you have spoken dib·bar·tā אֵלֵ֖ינוּ to us ’ê·lê·nū בְּשֵׁ֣ם in the name bə·šêm יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh אֵינֶ֥נּוּ we will not ’ê·nen·nū שֹׁמְעִ֖ים listen šō·mə·‘îm אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ to you ! ’ê·le·ḵā Jeremiah 44:17 כִּ֩י Instead , kî עָשֹׂ֨ה we will do ‘ā·śōh נַעֲשֶׂ֜ה . . . na·‘ă·śeh אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ everything kāl- הַדָּבָ֣ר׀ we vowed had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- יָצָ֣א to do yā·ṣā מִפִּ֗ינוּ . . . : mip·pî·nū לְקַטֵּ֞ר We will burn incense lə·qaṭ·ṭêr לִמְלֶ֣כֶת to the Queen lim·le·ḵeṯ הַשָּׁמַיִם֮ of Heaven haš·šā·ma·yim וְהַסֵּֽיךְ־ and offer wə·has·sêḵ- נְסָכִים֒ drink offerings nə·sā·ḵîm לָ֣הּ to her , lāh כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר just as ka·’ă·šer אֲנַ֤חְנוּ we , ’ă·naḥ·nū וַאֲבֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ our fathers , wa·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū מְלָכֵ֣ינוּ our kings , mə·lā·ḵê·nū וְשָׂרֵ֔ינוּ and our officials wə·śā·rê·nū עָשִׂ֜ינוּ did ‘ā·śî·nū בְּעָרֵ֣י in the cities bə·‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וּבְחֻצ֖וֹת and in the streets ū·ḇə·ḥu·ṣō·wṯ יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם of Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim וַנִּֽשְׂבַּֽע־ At that time we had plenty wan·niś·ba‘- לֶ֙חֶם֙ of food le·ḥem וַנִּֽהְיֶ֣ה . . . wan·nih·yeh טוֹבִ֔ים and good things , ṭō·w·ḇîm רָאִֽינוּ׃ and we saw rā·’î·nū לֹ֥א no lō וְרָעָ֖ה disaster . wə·rā·‘āh Jeremiah 44:18 וּמִן־ But from the time ū·min- אָ֡ז . . . ’āz חָדַ֜לְנוּ we stopped ḥā·ḏal·nū לְקַטֵּ֨ר burning incense lə·qaṭ·ṭêr לִמְלֶ֧כֶת to the Queen lim·le·ḵeṯ הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם of Heaven haš·šā·ma·yim וְהַסֵּֽךְ־ and pouring out wə·has·sêḵ- נְסָכִ֖ים drink offerings nə·sā·ḵîm לָ֥הּ to her , lāh חָסַ֣רְנוּ we have lacked ḥā·sar·nū כֹ֑ל everything ḵōl תָּֽמְנוּ׃ and have been perishing tā·mə·nū וּבַחֶ֥רֶב by sword ū·ḇa·ḥe·reḇ וּבָרָעָ֖ב and famine .” ū·ḇā·rā·‘āḇ Jeremiah 44:19 וְכִֽי־ “ Moreover,” [said the women,] “when wə·ḵî- אֲנַ֤חְנוּ we ’ă·naḥ·nū מְקַטְּרִים֙ burned incense mə·qaṭ·ṭə·rîm לִמְלֶ֣כֶת to the Queen lim·le·ḵeṯ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם of Heaven haš·šā·ma·yim וּלְהַסֵּ֥ךְ and poured out ū·lə·has·sêḵ נְסָכִ֑ים drink offerings nə·sā·ḵîm לָ֖הּ to her , lāh הֲמִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֣י was it without hă·mib·bal·‘ă·ḏê אֲנָשֵׁ֗ינוּ our husbands’ {knowledge} ’ă·nā·šê·nū עָשִׂ֨ינוּ that we made ‘ā·śî·nū לָ֤הּ lāh כַּוָּנִים֙ sacrificial cakes kaw·wā·nîm לְהַ֣עֲצִבָ֔ה in her image lə·ha·‘ă·ṣi·ḇāh וְהַסֵּ֥ךְ and poured out wə·has·sêḵ נְסָכִֽים׃פ drink offerings nə·sā·ḵîm לָ֖הּ to her ? ” lāh Jeremiah 44:20 יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ Then Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- כָּל־ all kāl- הָעָ֑ם the people hā·‘ām עַל־ . . . ‘al- וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- כָּל־ - kāl- הָעָ֔ם - , hā·‘ām הַגְּבָרִ֤ים both men hag·gə·ḇā·rîm וְעַל־ and wə·‘al- הַנָּשִׁים֙ women , han·nā·šîm הָעֹנִ֥ים who were answering hā·‘ō·nîm אֹת֛וֹ him ’ō·ṯōw דָּבָ֖ר - dā·ḇār
