אָמַר֩ says : ’ā·mar אִם־ ‘ If ’im- אַ֠תֶּם you ’at·tem שׂ֣וֹם are determined śō·wm תְּשִׂמ֤וּן . . . tə·śi·mūn פְּנֵיכֶם֙ . . . pə·nê·ḵem לָבֹ֣א to go lā·ḇō מִצְרַ֔יִם to Egypt miṣ·ra·yim וּבָאתֶ֖ם . . . ū·ḇā·ṯem לָג֥וּר and reside lā·ḡūr שָֽׁם׃ there , šām Jeremiah 42:16 וְהָיְתָ֣ה - wə·hā·yə·ṯāh הַחֶ֗רֶב then the sword ha·ḥe·reḇ אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer אַתֶּם֙ you ’at·tem יְרֵאִ֣ים fear yə·rê·’îm מִמֶּ֔נָּה - mim·men·nāh תַּשִּׂ֥יג will overtake taś·śîḡ אֶתְכֶ֖ם you ’eṯ·ḵem שָׁ֛ם there šām בְּאֶ֣רֶץ - bə·’e·reṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם - , miṣ·rā·yim וְהָרָעָ֞ב and the famine wə·hā·rā·‘āḇ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אַתֶּ֣ם׀ you ’at·tem דֹּאֲגִ֣ים dread dō·’ă·ḡîm מִמֶּ֗נּוּ . . . mim·men·nū יִדְבַּ֧ק will follow on your heels yiḏ·baq אַחֲרֵיכֶ֛ם . . . ’a·ḥă·rê·ḵem שָׁ֣ם - šām מִצְרַ֖יִם into Egypt , miṣ·ra·yim תָּמֻֽתוּ׃ and you will die tā·mu·ṯū וְשָׁ֥ם there . wə·šām Jeremiah 42:17 כָל־ So all ḵāl הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים . . . hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- שָׂ֨מוּ resolve śā·mū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פְּנֵיהֶ֜ם - pə·nê·hem לָב֤וֹא to go lā·ḇō·w מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ to Egypt miṣ·ra·yim שָׁ֔ם to reside there šām לָג֣וּר - lā·ḡūr וְיִֽהְי֣וּ will wə·yih·yū יָמ֕וּתוּ die yā·mū·ṯū בַּחֶ֖רֶב by sword ba·ḥe·reḇ בָּרָעָ֣ב and famine bā·rā·‘āḇ וּבַדָּ֑בֶר and plague . ū·ḇad·dā·ḇer וְלֹֽא־ Not one wə·lō- לָהֶם֙ of them lā·hem יִהְיֶ֤ה will yih·yeh שָׂרִ֣יד survive śā·rîḏ וּפָלִ֔יט or escape ū·p̄ā·lîṭ מִפְּנֵי֙ . . . mip·pə·nê הָֽרָעָ֔ה the disaster hā·rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer אֲנִ֖י I ’ă·nî מֵבִ֥יא will bring mê·ḇî עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ס upon them . ’ ‘ă·lê·hem Jeremiah 42:18 כִּי֩ For kî כֹ֨ה this is what ḵōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָאוֹת֮ of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אָמַ֜ר says : ’ā·mar כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ ‘ Just as ka·’ă·šer אַפִּ֜י My anger ’ap·pî וַחֲמָתִ֗י and wrath wa·ḥă·mā·ṯî נִתַּ֨ךְ were poured out nit·taḵ עַל־ on ‘al- יֹֽשְׁבֵי֙ the residents yō·šə·ḇê יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם of Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim כֵּ֣ן so kên חֲמָתִי֙ will My wrath ḥă·mā·ṯî תִּתַּ֤ךְ be poured out tit·taḵ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם on you ‘ă·lê·ḵem בְּבֹאֲכֶ֖ם if you go bə·ḇō·’ă·ḵem מִצְרָ֑יִם to Egypt . miṣ·rā·yim וִהְיִיתֶ֞ם You will become wih·yî·ṯem לְאָלָ֤ה an object of cursing lə·’ā·lāh וּלְשַׁמָּה֙ and horror , ū·lə·šam·māh וְלִקְלָלָ֣ה of vilification wə·liq·lā·lāh וּלְחֶרְפָּ֔ה and disgrace , ū·lə·ḥer·pāh וְלֹֽא־ and you will never wə·lō- תִרְא֣וּ see ṯir·’ū הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַמָּק֖וֹם place ham·mā·qō·wm ע֔וֹד again ‘ō·wḏ אֶת־ - .’ ’eṯ-
