אֱמֶ֣ת a true ’ĕ·meṯ וְנֶאֱמָ֑ן and faithful wə·ne·’ĕ·mān לְעֵ֖ד witness lə·‘êḏ בָּ֔נוּ against us bā·nū אִם־ if ’im- לֹ֡א we do not lō נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ act upon na·‘ă·śeh כְּֽכָל־ every kə·ḵāl- הַ֠דָּבָר word had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֧ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā יִֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֜ sends you yiš·lā·ḥă·ḵā אֵלֵ֖ינוּ to tell us . ’ê·lê·nū כֵּ֥ן - kên Jeremiah 42:6 אִם־ Whether ’im- ט֣וֹב it is pleasant ṭō·wḇ וְאִם־ or wə·’im- רָ֔ע unpleasant , rā‘ נִשְׁמָ֑ע we will obey niš·mā‘ בְּק֣וֹל׀ the voice bə·qō·wl יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū אֲשֶׁ֨ר to whom ’ă·šer אֲנוּ we ʾă·nū שֹׁלְחִ֥ים are sending šō·lə·ḥîm אֹתְךָ֛ you , ’ō·ṯə·ḵā אֵלָ֖יו ’ê·lāw לְמַ֙עַן֙ so that lə·ma·‘an אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יִֽיטַב־ it may go well with us yî·ṭaḇ- לָ֔נוּ , lā·nū כִּ֣י for kî נִשְׁמַ֔ע we will obey niš·ma‘ בְּק֖וֹל the voice bə·qō·wl יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ס our God !” ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū Jeremiah 42:7 מִקֵּ֖ץ After miq·qêṣ עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת ten ‘ă·śe·reṯ יָמִ֑ים days yā·mîm וַיְהִ֥י . . . way·hî דְבַר־ the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֕י came way·hî אֶֽל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָֽהוּ׃ Jeremiah , yir·mə·yā·hū Jeremiah 42:8 וַיִּקְרָ֗א and he summoned way·yiq·rā אֶל־ . . . ’el- יֽוֹחָנָן֙ Johanan yō·w·ḥā·nān בֶּן־ son ben- קָרֵ֔חַ of Kareah , qā·rê·aḥ וְאֶ֛ל . . . wə·’el כָּל־ all kāl- שָׂרֵ֥י the commanders śā·rê הַחֲיָלִ֖ים of the forces ha·ḥă·yā·lîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer אִתּ֑וֹ were with him , ’it·tōw וּלְכָ֨ל־ and all ū·lə·ḵāl- הָעָ֔ם the people hā·‘ām לְמִקָּטֹ֥ן from the least lə·miq·qā·ṭōn וְעַד־ to wə·‘aḏ- גָּדֽוֹל׃ the greatest . gā·ḏō·wl Jeremiah 42:9 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר [Jeremiah] told way·yō·mer אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם them , ’ă·lê·hem כֹּֽה־ “ Thus kōh- אָמַ֥ר says ’ā·mar יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אֵלָ֔יו to ’ê·lāw אֲשֶׁ֨ר whom ’ă·šer שְׁלַחְתֶּ֤ם you sent šə·laḥ·tem אֹתִי֙ me ’ō·ṯî לְהַפִּ֥יל to present lə·hap·pîl תְּחִנַּתְכֶ֖ם your petition tə·ḥin·naṯ·ḵem לְפָנָֽיו׃ - : lə·p̄ā·nāw Jeremiah 42:10 אִם־ ‘ If ’im- שׁ֤וֹב . . . šō·wḇ תֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙ you will indeed stay tê·šə·ḇū הַזֹּ֔את in this haz·zōṯ בָּאָ֣רֶץ land , bā·’ā·reṣ וּבָנִ֤יתִי then I will build ū·ḇā·nî·ṯî אֶתְכֶם֙ you up ’eṯ·ḵem וְלֹ֣א and not wə·lō אֶהֱרֹ֔ס tear you down ; ’e·hĕ·rōs
