Jeremiah 43:2 עֲזַרְיָ֤ה Azariah ‘ă·zar·yāh בֶן־ son ḇen- הוֹשַֽׁעְיָה֙ of Hoshaiah , hō·wō·ša‘·yāh וְיוֹחָנָ֣ן Johanan wə·yō·w·ḥā·nān בֶּן־ son ben- קָרֵ֔חַ of Kareah , qā·rê·aḥ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl הַזֵּדִ֑ים the arrogant haz·zê·ḏîm הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים men hā·’ă·nā·šîm וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶֽל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah , yir·mə·yā·hū אֹמְרִ֣ים ’ō·mə·rîm אַתָּ֣ה “ You ’at·tāh מְדַבֵּ֔ר vvv mə·ḏab·bêr שֶׁ֚קֶר are lying ! qer יְהוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū לֹ֣א has not lō שְׁלָחֲךָ֞ sent you šə·lā·ḥă·ḵā לֵאמֹ֔ר to say , lê·mōr לֹֽא־ ‘ You must not lō- תָבֹ֥אוּ go ṯā·ḇō·’ū מִצְרַ֖יִם to Egypt miṣ·ra·yim שָֽׁם׃ to reside there šām לָג֥וּר . . . .’ lā·ḡūr Jeremiah 43:3 כִּ֗י Rather , kî בָּרוּךְ֙ Baruch bā·rūḵ בֶּן־ son ben- נֵ֣רִיָּ֔ה of Neriah nê·rî·yāh מַסִּ֥ית is inciting mas·sîṯ אֹתְךָ֖ you ’ō·ṯə·ḵā בָּ֑נוּ against us bā·nū לְמַעַן֩ to lə·ma·‘an תֵּ֨ת deliver têṯ אֹתָ֤נוּ us ’ō·ṯā·nū בְיַֽד־ into the hands ḇə·yaḏ- הַכַּשְׂדִּים֙ of the Chaldeans , hak·kaś·dîm לְהָמִ֣ית so that they may put us to death lə·hā·mîṯ אֹתָ֔נוּ - ’ō·ṯā·nū וּלְהַגְל֥וֹת or exile ū·lə·haḡ·lō·wṯ אֹתָ֖נוּ us ’ō·ṯā·nū בָּבֶֽל׃ to Babylon !” bā·ḇel Jeremiah 43:4 יוֹחָנָ֨ן So Johanan yō·w·ḥā·nān בֶּן־ son ben- קָרֵ֜חַ of Kareah qā·rê·aḥ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl שָׂרֵ֧י the commanders śā·rê הַחֲיָלִ֛ים of the forces ha·ḥă·yā·lîm וְכָל־ . . . wə·ḵāl הָעָ֖ם . . . hā·‘ām וְלֹֽא־ vvv wə·lō- שָׁמַע֩ disobeyed šā·ma‘ בְּק֣וֹל the command bə·qō·wl יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh לָשֶׁ֖בֶת to stay lā·še·ḇeṯ בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh Jeremiah 43:5 יוֹחָנָ֤ן Instead, Johanan yō·w·ḥā·nān בֶּן־ son ben- קָרֵ֙חַ֙ of Kareah qā·rê·aḥ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl שָׂרֵ֣י the commanders śā·rê הַחֲיָלִ֔ים of the forces ha·ḥă·yā·lîm אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ וַיִּקַּ֞ח took way·yiq·qaḥ כָּל־ the whole kāl- שְׁאֵרִ֣ית remnant šə·’ê·rîṯ יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh אֲשֶׁר־ those who ’ă·šer- שָׁ֗בוּ had returned šā·ḇū בְּאֶ֥רֶץ to the land bə·’e·reṣ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh מִכָּל־ from all mik·kāl הַגּוֹיִם֙ the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁ֣ר to which ’ă·šer נִדְּחוּ־ they had been scattered nid·də·ḥū- שָׁ֔ם . . . šām לָג֖וּר . . . , lā·ḡūr Jeremiah 43:6 אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- הַ֠גְּבָרִים the men , hag·gə·ḇā·rîm וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַנָּשִׁ֣ים the women , han·nā·šîm וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַטַּף֮ the children , haṭ·ṭap̄
