אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָֽעֹרֵ֑ב a raven . hā·‘ō·rêḇ וַיֵּצֵ֤א It kept flying back and forth way·yê·ṣê יָצוֹא֙ . . . yā·ṣō·w וָשׁ֔וֹב . . . wā·šō·wḇ עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הַמַּ֖יִם the waters ham·ma·yim יְבֹ֥שֶׁת had dried up yə·ḇō·šeṯ מֵעַ֥ל from mê·‘al הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ Genesis 8:8 וַיְשַׁלַּ֥ח Then [Noah] sent out way·šal·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מֵאִתּ֑וֹ - mê·’it·tōw הַיּוֹנָ֖ה a dove hay·yō·w·nāh לִרְאוֹת֙ to see lir·’ō·wṯ הַמַּ֔יִם if the waters ham·ma·yim הֲקַ֣לּוּ had receded hă·qal·lū מֵעַ֖ל from mê·‘al פְּנֵ֥י the surface pə·nê הָֽאֲדָמָֽה׃ of the ground . hā·’ă·ḏā·māh Genesis 8:9 הַיּוֹנָ֨ה But the dove hay·yō·w·nāh מָצְאָה֩ found mā·ṣə·’āh וְלֹֽא־ no wə·lō- מָנ֜וֹחַ place to rest mā·nō·w·aḥ לְכַף־ her foot lə·ḵap̄- רַגְלָ֗הּ . . . , raḡ·lāh וַתָּ֤שָׁב and she returned wat·tā·šāḇ אֵלָיו֙ to him ’ê·lāw אֶל־ in ’el- הַתֵּבָ֔ה the ark , hat·tê·ḇāh כִּי־ because kî- מַ֖יִם the waters ma·yim עַל־ [were still] covering ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י the surface pə·nê כָל־ of all ḵāl הָאָ֑רֶץ the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח So he reached out way·yiš·laḥ יָדוֹ֙ his hand yā·ḏōw וַיִּקָּחֶ֔הָ . . . way·yiq·qā·ḥe·hā וַיָּבֵ֥א and brought way·yā·ḇê אֹתָ֛הּ her ’ō·ṯāh אֵלָ֖יו back ’ê·lāw אֶל־ inside ’el- הַתֵּבָֽה׃ the ark . hat·tê·ḇāh Genesis 8:10 וַיָּ֣חֶל [Noah] waited way·yā·ḥel ע֔וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ שִׁבְעַ֥ת seven šiḇ·‘aṯ אֲחֵרִ֑ים more ’ă·ḥê·rîm יָמִ֖ים days yā·mîm וַיֹּ֛סֶף and again way·yō·sep̄ שַׁלַּ֥ח sent out šal·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיּוֹנָ֖ה the dove hay·yō·w·nāh מִן־ from min- הַתֵּבָֽה׃ the ark . hat·tê·ḇāh Genesis 8:11 וְהִנֵּ֥ה And behold , wə·hin·nêh הַיּוֹנָה֙ the dove hay·yō·w·nāh וַתָּבֹ֨א returned wat·tā·ḇō אֵלָ֤יו to him ’ê·lāw לְעֵ֣ת in the evening lə·‘êṯ עֶ֔רֶב . . . ‘e·reḇ טָרָ֣ף with a freshly plucked ṭā·rāp̄ זַ֖יִת olive za·yiṯ עֲלֵה־ leaf ‘ă·lêh- בְּפִ֑יהָ in her beak . bə·p̄î·hā נֹ֔חַ So Noah nō·aḥ וַיֵּ֣דַע knew way·yê·ḏa‘ כִּי־ that kî- הַמַּ֖יִם the waters ham·ma·yim קַ֥לּוּ had receded qal·lū מֵעַ֥ל from mê·‘al הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ Genesis 8:12 וַיִּיָּ֣חֶל [And] Noah waited way·yî·yā·ḥel ע֔וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ שִׁבְעַ֥ת seven šiḇ·‘aṯ אֲחֵרִ֑ים more ’ă·ḥê·rîm יָמִ֖ים days yā·mîm וַיְשַׁלַּח֙ and sent out way·šal·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיּוֹנָ֔ה the dove {again} , hay·yō·w·nāh יָסְפָ֥ה but this time yā·sə·p̄āh עֽוֹד׃ . . . ‘ō·wḏ וְלֹֽא־ . . . wə·lō- שׁוּב־ she did not return šūḇ- אֵלָ֖יו to him . ’ê·lāw
