Jeremiah 41:6 יִשְׁמָעֵ֨אל And Ishmael yiš·mā·‘êl בֶּן־ son ben- נְתַנְיָ֤ה of Nethaniah nə·ṯan·yāh וַ֠יֵּצֵא went out way·yê·ṣê מִן־ from min- הַמִּצְפָּ֔ה Mizpah ham·miṣ·pāh לִקְרָאתָם֙ to meet them , liq·rā·ṯām וּבֹכֶ֑ה weeping ū·ḇō·ḵeh וַֽיְהִי֙ . . . way·hî הֹלֵ֥ךְ as he went hō·lêḵ הָלֹ֖ךְ . . . . hā·lōḵ כִּפְגֹ֣שׁ When [Ishmael] encountered [the men] , kip̄·ḡōš אֹתָ֔ם - ’ō·ṯām וַיֹּ֣אמֶר he said , way·yō·mer בֹּ֖אוּ “ Come bō·’ū אֶל־ . . . ’el- אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם to ’ă·lê·hem גְּדַלְיָ֥הוּ Gedaliah gə·ḏal·yā·hū בֶן־ son ḇen- אֲחִיקָֽם׃ס of Ahikam .” ’ă·ḥî·qām Jeremiah 41:7 וַיְהִ֕י - way·hî כְּבוֹאָ֖ם And when they came kə·ḇō·w·’ām אֶל־ into ’el- תּ֣וֹךְ . . . tō·wḵ הָעִ֑יר the city , hā·‘îr יִשְׁמָעֵ֤אל Ishmael yiš·mā·‘êl בֶּן־ son ben- נְתַנְיָה֙ of Nethaniah nə·ṯan·yāh וְהָאֲנָשִׁ֥ים and the men wə·hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אִתּֽוֹ׃ with him ’it·tōw וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֞ם slaughtered them way·yiš·ḥā·ṭêm אֶל־ and threw them into ’el- תּ֣וֹךְ . . . tō·wḵ הַבּ֔וֹר a cistern . hab·bō·wr ה֖וּא . . . hū Jeremiah 41:8 וַעֲשָׂרָ֨ה But ten wa·‘ă·śā·rāh אֲנָשִׁ֜ים of the men ’ă·nā·šîm נִמְצְאוּ־ nim·ṣə·’ū- בָ֗ם among them ḇām וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ said way·yō·mə·rū אֶל־ to ’el- יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ Ishmael , yiš·mā·‘êl אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תְּמִתֵ֔נוּ kill us , tə·mi·ṯê·nū כִּֽי־ for kî- יֶשׁ־ we have yeš- לָ֤נוּ lā·nū מַטְמֹנִים֙ hidden treasure maṭ·mō·nîm בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה in the field — baś·śā·ḏeh חִטִּ֥ים wheat , ḥiṭ·ṭîm וּשְׂעֹרִ֖ים barley , ū·śə·‘ō·rîm וְשֶׁ֣מֶן oil , wə·še·men וּדְבָ֑שׁ and honey ! ” ū·ḏə·ḇāš וַיֶּחְדַּ֕ל So he refrained way·yeḥ·dal וְלֹ֥א . . . wə·lō הֱמִיתָ֖ם from killing them hĕ·mî·ṯām בְּת֥וֹךְ with bə·ṯō·wḵ אֲחֵיהֶֽם׃ the others . ’ă·ḥê·hem Jeremiah 41:9 וְהַבּ֗וֹר Now the cistern wə·hab·bō·wr אֲשֶׁר֩ into which ’ă·šer יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ Ishmael yiš·mā·‘êl אֵ֣ת׀ - ’êṯ הִשְׁלִ֨יךְ had thrown hiš·lîḵ שָׁ֤ם . . . šām כָּל־ all kāl- פִּגְרֵ֣י the bodies piḡ·rê הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים of the men hā·’ă·nā·šîm הִכָּה֙ he had struck down hik·kāh בְּיַד־ along with bə·yaḏ- גְּדַלְיָ֔הוּ Gedaliah gə·ḏal·yā·hū ה֗וּא . . . hū אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer אֲשֶׁ֤ר was a large one that ’ă·šer הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ אָסָ֔א Asa ’ā·sā עָשָׂה֙ had made ‘ā·śāh מִפְּנֵ֖י for fear mip·pə·nê בַּעְשָׁ֣א of Baasha ba‘·šā מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl אֹת֗וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw יִשְׁמָעֵ֥אל Ishmael yiš·mā·‘êl בֶּן־ son ben- נְתַנְיָ֖הוּ of Nethaniah nə·ṯan·yā·hū מִלֵּ֛א filled it mil·lê חֲלָלִֽים׃ with the slain . ḥă·lā·lîm
