בָּנֶ֗יךָ children bā·ne·ḵā מֽוֹצִאִים֙ will be brought out mō·w·ṣi·’îm אֶל־ to ’el- הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים the Chaldeans . hak·kaś·dîm וְאַתָּ֖ה And you wə·’at·tāh לֹא־ yourself will not lō- תִמָּלֵ֣ט escape ṯim·mā·lêṭ מִיָּדָ֑ם their grasp , mî·yā·ḏām כִּ֣י for kî תִּתָּפֵ֔שׂ you will be seized tit·tā·p̄êś וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בְיַ֤ד by ḇə·yaḏ מֶֽלֶךְ־ the king me·leḵ- בָּבֶל֙ of Babylon , bā·ḇel הַזֹּ֖את and this haz·zōṯ הָעִ֥יר city hā·‘îr תִּשְׂרֹ֥ף will be burned down tiś·rōp̄ בָּאֵֽשׁ׃פ . . . . ” bā·’êš Jeremiah 38:24 צִדְקִיָּ֜הוּ Then Zedekiah ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū אֶֽל־ . . . ’el- וַיֹּ֨אמֶר warned way·yō·mer יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah , yir·mə·yā·hū אַל־ “ Do not ’al- אִ֛ישׁ let anyone ’îš יֵדַ֥ע know yê·ḏa‘ הָאֵ֖לֶּה about this hā·’êl·leh בַּדְּבָֽרִים־ conversation , bad·də·ḇā·rîm- וְלֹ֥א or wə·lō תָמֽוּת׃ you will die . ṯā·mūṯ Jeremiah 38:25 וְכִֽי־ If wə·ḵî- הַשָּׂרִים֮ the officials haś·śā·rîm יִשְׁמְע֣וּ hear yiš·mə·‘ū כִּֽי־ that kî- דִבַּ֣רְתִּי I have spoken ḏib·bar·tî אִתָּךְ֒ with you , ’it·tāḵ וּבָ֣אוּ and they come ū·ḇā·’ū וְֽאָמְר֪וּ and demand wə·’ā·mə·rū אֵלֶ֣יךָ of you , ’ê·le·ḵā אֵלֶ֟יךָ ’ê·le·ḵā הַגִּֽידָה־ ‘ Tell hag·gî·ḏāh- נָּ֨א . . . nā לָ֜נוּ us lā·nū מַה־ what mah- דִּבַּ֧רְתָּ you said dib·bar·tā אֶל־ to ’el- הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ וּמַה־ and what ū·mah- הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ [he] ham·me·leḵ דִּבֶּ֥ר said dib·ber אֵלֶ֖יךָ to you ; ’ê·le·ḵā אַל־ do not ’al- תְּכַחֵ֥ד hide it tə·ḵa·ḥêḏ מִמֶּ֖נּוּ from us , mim·men·nū וְלֹ֣א [or] wə·lō נְמִיתֶ֑ךָ we will kill you , ’ nə·mî·ṯe·ḵā Jeremiah 38:26 וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ then tell them , wə·’ā·mar·tā אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם . . . ’ă·lê·hem אֲנִ֥י ‘ I ’ă·nî מַפִּיל־ was presenting map·pîl- לִפְנֵ֣י to lip̄·nê הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ תְחִנָּתִ֖י my petition ṯə·ḥin·nā·ṯî לְבִלְתִּ֧י that he not lə·ḇil·tî הֲשִׁיבֵ֛נִי return me hă·šî·ḇê·nî בֵּ֥ית to the house bêṯ יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן of Jonathan yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān לָמ֥וּת to die lā·mūṯ שָֽׁם׃פ there . ’” šām Jeremiah 38:27 כָל־ When all ḵāl הַשָּׂרִ֤ים the officials haś·śā·rîm וַיָּבֹ֨אוּ came way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶֽל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū וַיִּשְׁאֲל֣וּ and questioned him , way·yiš·’ă·lū אֹת֔וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw וַיַּגֵּ֤ד he relayed way·yag·gêḏ לָהֶם֙ to them lā·hem כְּכָל־ the exact kə·ḵāl- הַדְּבָרִ֣ים words had·də·ḇā·rîm הָאֵ֔לֶּה . . . hā·’êl·leh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ צִוָּ֖ה had commanded [him to say] . ṣiw·wāh וַיַּחֲרִ֣שׁוּ So they said no more way·ya·ḥă·ri·šū מִמֶּ֔נּוּ to him , mim·men·nū כִּ֥י for kî לֹֽא־ no one lō- נִשְׁמַ֖ע had overheard niš·ma‘
