אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ וַיְצַוֶּ֣ה commanded way·ṣaw·weh עֶֽבֶד־ vvv ‘e·ḇeḏ- מֶ֥לֶךְ Ebed-melech me·leḵ הַכּוּשִׁ֖י the Cushite , hak·kū·šî לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . lê·mōr קַ֣ח “ Take qaḥ שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים thirty šə·lō·šîm אֲנָשִׁ֔ים men ’ă·nā·šîm מִן־ from min- מִזֶּה֙ here miz·zeh בְּיָדְךָ֤ with you bə·yā·ḏə·ḵā וְֽהַעֲלִ֜יתָ and pull wə·ha·‘ă·lî·ṯā יִרְמְיָ֧הוּ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū הַנָּבִ֛יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- הַבּ֖וֹר out of the cistern hab·bō·wr בְּטֶ֥רֶם before bə·ṭe·rem יָמֽוּת׃ he dies .” yā·mūṯ Jeremiah 38:11 עֶֽבֶד־ vvv ‘e·ḇeḏ- מֶ֨לֶךְ Then Ebed-melech me·leḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקַּ֣ח׀ took way·yiq·qaḥ הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים the men hā·’ă·nā·šîm בְּיָד֗וֹ with him bə·yā·ḏōw וַיָּבֹ֤א and went way·yā·ḇō הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ to the king’s ham·me·leḵ בֵית־ palace , ḇêṯ- אֶל־ to ’el- תַּ֣חַת a place below ta·ḥaṯ הָאוֹצָ֔ר the storehouse . hā·’ō·w·ṣār מִשָּׁם֙ From there miš·šām וַיִּקַּ֤ח he took way·yiq·qaḥ בְּלוֹיֵ֣ old bə·lō·w·yê הַסְּחָבוֹת rags has·sə·ḥå̄·ḇōṯ וּבְלוֹיֵ֖ and worn-out ū·ḇə·lō·w·yê מְלָחִ֑ים clothes mə·lā·ḥîm וַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֧ם and lowered them way·šal·lə·ḥêm בַּחֲבָלִֽים׃ with ropes ba·ḥă·ḇā·lîm אֶֽל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָ֛הוּ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū אֶל־ in ’el- הַבּ֖וֹר the cistern . hab·bō·wr Jeremiah 38:12 עֶבֶד־ vvv ‘e·ḇeḏ- מֶ֨לֶךְ Ebed-melech me·leḵ הַכּוּשִׁ֜י the Cushite hak·kū·šî וַיֹּ֡אמֶר cried out way·yō·mer אֶֽל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah , yir·mə·yā·hū שִׂ֣ים “ Put śîm נָ֠א . . . nā בְּלוֹאֵ֨י these worn-out bə·lō·w·’ê הַסְּחָב֤וֹת rags has·sə·ḥā·ḇō·wṯ וְהַמְּלָחִים֙ and clothes wə·ham·mə·lā·ḥîm תַּ֚חַת . . . ta·ḥaṯ אַצִּל֣וֹת under your arms ’aṣ·ṣi·lō·wṯ יָדֶ֔יךָ . . . yā·ḏe·ḵā מִתַּ֖חַת . . . mit·ta·ḥaṯ לַחֲבָלִ֑ים to pad the ropes . ” la·ḥă·ḇā·lîm יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū וַיַּ֥עַשׂ did way·ya·‘aś כֵּֽן׃ so , kên Jeremiah 38:13 יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ and they pulled him yir·mə·yā·hū וַיִּמְשְׁכ֤וּ up way·yim·šə·ḵū אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- בַּֽחֲבָלִ֔ים with the ropes ba·ḥă·ḇā·lîm וַיַּעֲל֥וּ and lifted way·ya·‘ă·lū אֹת֖וֹ him ’ō·ṯōw מִן־ out of min- הַבּ֑וֹר the cistern . hab·bō·wr יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ And Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב remained way·yê·šeḇ בַּחֲצַ֖ר in the courtyard ba·ḥă·ṣar הַמַּטָּרָֽה׃ס of the guard . ham·maṭ·ṭā·rāh Jeremiah 38:14 הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ Then King ham·me·leḵ צִדְקִיָּ֗הוּ Zedekiah ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח sent for way·yiš·laḥ יִרְמְיָ֤הוּ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū הַנָּבִיא֙ the prophet han·nā·ḇî וַיִּקַּ֞ח and received way·yiq·qaḥ אֶֽת־ him ’eṯ- אֵלָ֔יו at ’ê·lāw אֶל־ - ’el- הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י the third haš·šə·lî·šî אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer מָבוֹא֙ entrance mā·ḇō·w בְּבֵ֣ית to the house bə·ḇêṯ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH .
