Jeremiah 37:18 יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ Then Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū וַיֹּ֣אמֶר asked way·yō·mer אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ צִדְקִיָּ֑הוּ Zedekiah , ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū מֶה֩ “ How meh חָטָ֨אתִֽי have I sinned ḥā·ṭā·ṯî לְךָ֤ against you lə·ḵā וְלַעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ or your servants wə·la·‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā הַזֶּ֔ה or these haz·zeh וְלָעָ֣ם people , wə·lā·‘ām כִּֽי־ that kî- נְתַתֶּ֥ם you have put nə·ṯat·tem אוֹתִ֖י me ’ō·w·ṯî אֶל־ in ’el- בֵּ֥ית prison bêṯ הַכֶּֽלֶא׃ . . . ? hak·ke·le Jeremiah 37:19 וְאַיּוֹ Where wə·ʾay·yō נְבִ֣יאֵיכֶ֔ם are your prophets nə·ḇî·’ê·ḵem אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- נִבְּא֥וּ prophesied nib·bə·’ū לָכֶ֖ם to you , lā·ḵem לֵאמֹ֑ר claiming , lê·mōr מֶֽלֶךְ־ ‘ The king me·leḵ- בָּבֶל֙ of Babylon bā·ḇel לֹֽא־ will not lō- יָבֹ֤א come yā·ḇō עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם against you ‘ă·lê·ḵem וְעַ֖ל . . . wə·‘al הַזֹּֽאת׃ or this haz·zōṯ הָאָ֥רֶץ land ’ ? hā·’ā·reṣ Jeremiah 37:20 וְעַתָּ֕ה But now wə·‘at·tāh נָ֖א please nā שְֽׁמַֽע־ listen , šə·ma‘- אֲדֹנִ֣י O my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king . ham·me·leḵ תְחִנָּתִי֙ May my petition ṯə·ḥin·nā·ṯî תִּפָּל־ come tip·pāl- נָ֤א . . . nā לְפָנֶ֔יךָ before you . lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā וְאַל־ Do not wə·’al- תְּשִׁבֵ֗נִי send me back tə·ši·ḇê·nî בֵּ֚ית to the house bêṯ יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן of Jonathan yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān הַסֹּפֵ֔ר the scribe , has·sō·p̄êr וְלֹ֥א or wə·lō אָמ֖וּת I will die ’ā·mūṯ שָֽׁם׃ there .” šām Jeremiah 37:21 הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ So King ham·me·leḵ צִדְקִיָּ֗הוּ Zedekiah ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū וַיְצַוֶּ֞ה gave orders way·ṣaw·weh יִרְמְיָהוּ֮ for Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū וַיַּפְקִ֣דוּ to be placed way·yap̄·qi·ḏū אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- בַּחֲצַ֣ר in the courtyard ba·ḥă·ṣar הַמַּטָּרָה֒ of the guard ham·maṭ·ṭā·rāh וְנָתֹן֩ and given wə·nā·ṯōn ל֨וֹ lōw כִכַּר־ a loaf ḵik·kar- לֶ֤חֶם of bread le·ḥem לַיּוֹם֙ daily lay·yō·wm מִן־ from min- מִח֣וּץ the street mi·ḥūṣ הָאֹפִ֔ים of the bakers , hā·’ō·p̄îm עַד־ until ‘aḏ- כָּל־ all kāl- הַלֶּ֖חֶם the bread hal·le·ḥem הָעִ֑יר in the city hā·‘îr תֹּ֥ם was gone . tōm יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ So Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב remained way·yê·šeḇ בַּחֲצַ֖ר in the courtyard ba·ḥă·ṣar הַמַּטָּרָֽה׃ of the guard . ham·maṭ·ṭā·rāh Jeremiah 38:1 שְׁפַטְיָ֣ה Now Shephatiah šə·p̄aṭ·yāh בֶן־ son ḇen- מַתָּ֗ן of Mattan , mat·tān וּגְדַלְיָ֙הוּ֙ Gedaliah ū·ḡə·ḏal·yā·hū בֶּן־ son ben- פַּשְׁח֔וּר of Pashhur , paš·ḥūr וְיוּכַל֙ Jucal wə·yū·ḵal בֶּן־ son ben- שֶׁ֣לֶמְיָ֔הוּ of Shelemiah , še·lem·yā·hū וּפַשְׁח֖וּר and Pashhur ū·p̄aš·ḥūr בֶּן־ son ben- מַלְכִּיָּ֑ה of Malchijah mal·kî·yāh
