מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt . mim·miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 13:10 וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֛ Therefore you shall keep wə·šā·mar·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֹּ֖את this haz·zōṯ הַחֻקָּ֥ה statute ha·ḥuq·qāh לְמוֹעֲדָ֑הּ at the appointed time lə·mō·w·‘ă·ḏāh מִיָּמִ֖ים year mî·yā·mîm יָמִֽימָה׃ס after year . yā·mî·māh Exodus 13:11 וְהָיָ֞ה And wə·hā·yāh כִּֽי־ after kî- יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh יְבִֽאֲךָ֤ brings yə·ḇi·’ă·ḵā אֶל־ you into ’el- אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י of the Canaanites hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî וּנְתָנָ֖הּ and gives it ū·nə·ṯā·nāh לָֽךְ׃ to you , lāḵ כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר as ka·’ă·šer נִשְׁבַּ֥ע He swore niš·ba‘ לְךָ֖ to you lə·ḵā וְלַֽאֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ and your fathers , wə·la·’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā Exodus 13:12 וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ֥ you are to present wə·ha·‘ă·ḇar·tā לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה to YHWH Yah·weh פֶּֽטֶר־ the firstborn male pe·ṭer- כָל־ of every ḵāl רֶ֖חֶם womb . re·ḥem וְכָל־ All wə·ḵāl פֶּ֣טֶר׀ the firstborn pe·ṭer שֶׁ֣גֶר . . . še·ḡer אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer הַזְּכָרִ֖ים males haz·zə·ḵā·rîm יִהְיֶ֥ה of your yih·yeh לְךָ֛ . . . lə·ḵā בְּהֵמָ֗ה livestock bə·hê·māh לַיהוָֽה׃ [belong to] YHWH . Yah·weh Exodus 13:13 תִּפְדֶּ֣ה You must redeem tip̄·deh וְכָל־ every wə·ḵāl פֶּ֤טֶר firstborn pe·ṭer חֲמֹר֙ donkey ḥă·mōr בְשֶׂ֔ה with a lamb , ḇə·śeh וְאִם־ and if wə·’im- לֹ֥א you do not lō תִפְדֶּ֖ה redeem it , ṯip̄·deh וַעֲרַפְתּ֑וֹ you are to break its neck . wa·‘ă·rap̄·tōw וְכֹ֨ל And every wə·ḵōl בְּכ֥וֹר firstborn bə·ḵō·wr אָדָ֛ם . . . ’ā·ḏām בְּבָנֶ֖יךָ of your sons bə·ḇā·ne·ḵā תִּפְדֶּֽה׃ you must redeem . tip̄·deh Exodus 13:14 וְהָיָ֞ה - wə·hā·yāh מָחָ֖ר In the future , mā·ḥār כִּֽי־ when kî- בִנְךָ֛ your son ḇin·ḵā יִשְׁאָלְךָ֥ asks you , yiš·’ā·lə·ḵā מַה־ ‘ What mah- זֹּ֑את does this zōṯ לֵאמֹ֣ר mean ?’ lê·mōr וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ you are to tell wə·’ā·mar·tā אֵלָ֔יו him , ’ê·lāw בְּחֹ֣זֶק ‘ With a mighty bə·ḥō·zeq יָ֗ד hand yāḏ יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh הוֹצִיאָ֧נוּ brought us out hō·w·ṣî·’ā·nū מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם of Egypt , mim·miṣ·ra·yim מִבֵּ֥ית out of the house mib·bêṯ עֲבָדִֽים׃ of slavery . ‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm Exodus 13:15 וַיְהִ֗י And way·hî כִּֽי־ when kî- פַרְעֹה֮ Pharaoh p̄ar·‘ōh הִקְשָׁ֣ה stubbornly refused hiq·šāh לְשַׁלְּחֵנוּ֒ to let us go , lə·šal·lə·ḥê·nū יְהֹוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיַּהֲרֹ֨ג killed way·ya·hă·rōḡ כָּל־ every kāl- בְּכוֹר֙ firstborn bə·ḵō·wr בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt , miṣ·ra·yim מִבְּכֹ֥ר both mib·bə·ḵōr אָדָ֖ם of man ’ā·ḏām וְעַד־ and wə·‘aḏ- בְּכ֣וֹר - bə·ḵō·wr בְּהֵמָ֑ה beast . bə·hê·māh
