Jeremiah 29:1 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ This wə·’êl·leh דִּבְרֵ֣י is the text diḇ·rê הַסֵּ֔פֶר of the letter has·sê·p̄er אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer יִרְמְיָ֥ה Jeremiah yir·mə·yāh הַנָּבִ֖יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî שָׁלַ֛ח sent šā·laḥ מִירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם from Jerusalem mî·rū·šā·lim אֶל־ to ’el- יֶ֜תֶר the surviving ye·ṯer זִקְנֵ֣י elders ziq·nê הַגּוֹלָ֗ה among the exiles hag·gō·w·lāh וְאֶל־ and to wə·’el- הַכֹּהֲנִ֤ים the priests , hak·kō·hă·nîm וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- הַנְּבִיאִים֙ the prophets , han·nə·ḇî·’îm וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- כָּל־ and all kāl- הָעָ֔ם the others hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer נְבֽוּכַדְנֶאצַּ֛ר Nebuchadnezzar nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar הֶגְלָ֧ה had carried into exile heḡ·lāh מִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם from Jerusalem mî·rū·šā·lim בָּבֶֽלָה׃ to Babylon . bā·ḇe·lāh Jeremiah 29:2 אַחֲרֵ֣י ( This was after ’a·ḥă·rê הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ יְכָנְיָֽה־ Jeconiah , yə·ḵā·nə·yāh- וְהַגְּבִירָ֨ה the queen mother , wə·hag·gə·ḇî·rāh וְהַסָּרִיסִ֜ים the court officials , wə·has·sā·rî·sîm שָׂרֵ֨י the officials śā·rê יְהוּדָ֧ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וִירוּשָׁלִַ֛ם and Jerusalem , wî·rū·šā·lim וְהֶחָרָ֥שׁ the craftsmen , wə·he·ḥā·rāš וְהַמַּסְגֵּ֖ר and the metalsmiths wə·ham·mas·gêr צֵ֣את had been exiled ṣêṯ מִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ from Jerusalem . ) mî·rū·šā·lim Jeremiah 29:3 בְּיַד֙ The letter was entrusted to bə·yaḏ אֶלְעָשָׂ֣ה Elasah ’el·‘ā·śāh בֶן־ son ḇen- שָׁפָ֔ן of Shaphan šā·p̄ān וּגְמַרְיָ֖ה and Gemariah ū·ḡə·mar·yāh בֶּן־ son ben- חִלְקִיָּ֑ה of Hilkiah , ḥil·qî·yāh אֲשֶׁ֨ר whom ’ă·šer צִדְקִיָּ֣ה Zedekiah ṣiḏ·qî·yāh מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֗ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh שָׁלַ֜ח sent šā·laḥ אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֥לֶךְ King me·leḵ נְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּ֛ר Nebuchadnezzar nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar בָּבֶ֖ל in Babylon bā·ḇel בָּבֶ֥לָה . . . . bā·ḇe·lāh לֵאמֹֽר׃ס It stated : lê·mōr Jeremiah 29:4 כֹּ֥ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אָמַ֛ר says ’ā·mar לְכָל־ to all lə·ḵāl הַ֨גּוֹלָ֔ה the exiles hag·gō·w·lāh אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הִגְלֵ֥יתִי who were carried away hiḡ·lê·ṯî מִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם from Jerusalem mî·rū·šā·lim בָּבֶֽלָה׃ to Babylon : bā·ḇe·lāh Jeremiah 29:5 בְּנ֥וּ “ Build bə·nū בָתִּ֖ים houses ḇāt·tîm וְשֵׁ֑בוּ and settle down . wə·šê·ḇū וְנִטְע֣וּ Plant wə·niṭ·‘ū גַנּ֔וֹת gardens ḡan·nō·wṯ וְאִכְל֖וּ and eat wə·’iḵ·lū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פִּרְיָֽן׃ their produce . pir·yān Jeremiah 29:6 קְח֣וּ Take qə·ḥū נָשִׁ֗ים wives nā·šîm וְהוֹלִידוּ֮ and have wə·hō·w·lî·ḏū בָּנִ֣ים sons bā·nîm וּבָנוֹת֒ and daughters . ū·ḇā·nō·wṯ וּקְח֨וּ Take ū·qə·ḥū נָשִׁ֗ים wives nā·šîm וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לִבְנֵיכֶ֜ם for your sons liḇ·nê·ḵem
