הָעָֽם׃ the people . hā·‘ām Jeremiah 28:8 הַנְּבִיאִ֗ים The prophets han·nə·ḇî·’îm הָֽעוֹלָ֑ם of old hā·‘ō·w·lām אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer הָי֧וּ preceded hā·yū לְפָנַ֛י . . . lə·p̄ā·nay מִן־ you min- וּלְפָנֶ֖יךָ and me ū·lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā וַיִּנָּ֨בְא֜וּ prophesied way·yin·nā·ḇə·’ū לְמִלְחָמָ֖ה war , lə·mil·ḥā·māh וּלְרָעָ֥ה disaster , ū·lə·rā·‘āh וּלְדָֽבֶר׃ and plague ū·lə·ḏā·ḇer אֶל־ against ’el- רַבּוֹת֙ many rab·bō·wṯ וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- אֲרָצ֤וֹת lands ’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ גְּדֹל֔וֹת and great gə·ḏō·lō·wṯ מַמְלָכ֣וֹת kingdoms . mam·lā·ḵō·wṯ Jeremiah 28:9 הַנָּבִ֕יא As for the prophet han·nā·ḇî אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer יִנָּבֵ֖א prophesies yin·nā·ḇê לְשָׁל֑וֹם peace , lə·šā·lō·wm דְּבַ֣ר only if the word də·ḇar הַנָּבִ֗יא of the prophet han·nā·ḇî בְּבֹא֙ comes true bə·ḇō הַנָּבִ֔יא will the prophet han·nā·ḇî אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יִוָּדַע֙ be recognized yiw·wā·ḏa‘ יְהוָ֖ה as one YHWH Yah·weh בֶּאֱמֶֽת׃ has truly be·’ĕ·meṯ שְׁלָח֥וֹ sent .” šə·lā·ḥōw Jeremiah 28:10 הַנָּבִיא֙ Then the prophet han·nā·ḇî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֲנַנְיָ֤ה Hananiah ḥă·nan·yāh וַיִּקַּ֞ח took way·yiq·qaḥ הַמּוֹטָ֔ה the yoke ham·mō·w·ṭāh מֵעַ֕ל off mê·‘al צַוַּ֖אר the neck ṣaw·war יִרְמְיָ֣ה of Jeremiah yir·mə·yāh הַנָּבִ֑יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî וַֽיִּשְׁבְּרֵֽהוּ׃ and broke it . way·yiš·bə·rê·hū Jeremiah 28:11 לְעֵינֵ֨י And in the presence lə·‘ê·nê כָל־ of all ḵāl הָעָ֜ם the people hā·‘ām חֲנַנְיָה֩ Hananiah ḥă·nan·yāh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר proclaimed , way·yō·mer כֹּה֮ “ This is what kōh אָמַ֣ר - ’ā·mar יְהוָה֒ YHWH Yah·weh לֵאמֹ֗ר says : lê·mōr כָּ֣כָה ‘ In this way , kā·ḵāh שְׁנָתַ֣יִם within two years šə·nā·ṯa·yim יָמִ֔ים . . . yā·mîm אֶשְׁבֹּ֞ר I will break ’eš·bōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֹ֣ל׀ the yoke ‘ōl נְבֻֽכַדְנֶאצַּ֣ר of Nebuchadnezzar nə·ḇu·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- בָּבֶ֗ל of Babylon bā·ḇel בְּעוֹד֙ - bə·‘ō·wḏ מֵעַ֕ל off mê·‘al- צַוַּ֖אר the neck ṣaw·war כָּל־ of all kāl- הַגּוֹיִ֑ם the nations . ’” hag·gō·w·yim יִרְמְיָ֥ה At this, Jeremiah yir·mə·yāh הַנָּבִ֖יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî וַיֵּ֛לֶךְ went way·yê·leḵ לְדַרְכּֽוֹ׃פ on his way . lə·ḏar·kōw Jeremiah 28:12 אַ֠חֲרֵי But shortly after ’a·ḥă·rê חֲנַנְיָ֤ה Hananiah ḥă·nan·yāh הַנָּבִיא֙ the prophet han·nā·ḇî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׁב֞וֹר had broken šə·ḇō·wr הַמּוֹטָ֔ה the yoke ham·mō·w·ṭāh מֵעַ֗ל off mê·‘al צַוַּ֛אר [his] neck ṣaw·war יִרְמְיָ֥ה . . . yir·mə·yāh הַנָּבִ֖יא . . . han·nā·ḇî לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . , lê·mōr דְבַר־ the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֥י came way·hî אֶֽל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָ֑ה Jeremiah : yir·mə·yāh
