נִקְמָתֵ֖נוּ our vengeance niq·mā·ṯê·nū מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ upon him .” mim·men·nū Jeremiah 20:11 וַֽיהוָ֤ה But YHWH Yah·weh אוֹתִי֙ is with me ’ō·w·ṯî עָרִ֔יץ like a fearsome ‘ā·rîṣ כְּגִבּ֣וֹר warrior . kə·ḡib·bō·wr עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֛ן . . . , kên רֹדְפַ֥י my persecutors rō·ḏə·p̄ay יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ will stumble yik·kā·šə·lū וְלֹ֣א and will not wə·lō יֻכָ֑לוּ prevail . yu·ḵā·lū כִּֽי־ Since kî- לֹ֣א they have not lō הִשְׂכִּ֔ילוּ succeeded , hiś·kî·lū מְאֹד֙ they will be utterly mə·’ōḏ בֹּ֤שׁוּ put to shame , bō·šū עוֹלָ֖ם with an everlasting ‘ō·w·lām כְּלִמַּ֥ת disgrace kə·lim·maṯ לֹ֥א that will never lō תִשָּׁכֵֽחַ׃ be forgotten . ṯiš·šā·ḵê·aḥ Jeremiah 20:12 וַיהוָ֤ה O YHWH Yah·weh צְבָאוֹת֙ of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ בֹּחֵ֣ן who examines bō·ḥên צַדִּ֔יק the righteous , ṣad·dîq רֹאֶ֥ה who sees rō·’eh כְלָי֖וֹת the heart ḵə·lā·yō·wṯ וָלֵ֑ב and mind , wā·lêḇ אֶרְאֶ֤ה let me see ’er·’eh נִקְמָֽתְךָ֙ Your vengeance niq·mā·ṯə·ḵā מֵהֶ֔ם upon them , mê·hem כִּ֥י for kî אֵלֶ֖יךָ to You ’ê·le·ḵā גִּלִּ֥יתִי I have committed gil·lî·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רִיבִֽי׃ס my cause . rî·ḇî Jeremiah 20:13 שִׁ֚ירוּ Sing ·rū לַֽיהוָ֔ה to YHWH ! Yah·weh הַֽלְל֖וּ Praise hal·lū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH ! Yah·weh כִּ֥י For kî הִצִּ֛יל He rescues hiṣ·ṣîl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נֶ֥פֶשׁ the life ne·p̄eš אֶבְי֖וֹן of the needy ’eḇ·yō·wn מִיַּ֥ד from the hands mî·yaḏ מְרֵעִֽים׃ס of evildoers . mə·rê·‘îm Jeremiah 20:14 אָר֣וּר Cursed be ’ā·rūr הַיּ֔וֹם the day hay·yō·wm אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer יֻלַּ֖דְתִּי I was born yul·laḏ·tî בּ֑וֹ ! bōw י֛וֹם May the day yō·wm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אִמִּ֖י my mother ’im·mî יְלָדַ֥תְנִי bore me yə·lā·ḏaṯ·nî אַל־ never ’al- יְהִ֥י . . . yə·hî בָרֽוּךְ׃ be blessed . ḇā·rūḵ Jeremiah 20:15 אָר֣וּר Cursed be ’ā·rūr הָאִ֗ישׁ the man hā·’îš אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer בִּשַּׂ֤ר brought biś·śar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אָבִי֙ my father {the news} , ’ā·ḇî לֵאמֹ֔ר saying , lê·mōr זָכָ֑ר “ A son zā·ḵār בֵּ֣ן . . . bên יֻֽלַּד־ is born yul·laḏ- לְךָ֖ to you ,” lə·ḵā שַׂמֵּ֖חַ bringing him great joy śam·mê·aḥ שִׂמֳּחָֽהוּ׃ . śim·mo·ḥā·hū Jeremiah 20:16 הַה֔וּא May ha·hū הָאִ֣ישׁ that man hā·’îš וְהָיָה֙ be wə·hā·yāh כֶּֽעָרִ֛ים like the cities ke·‘ā·rîm אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh הָפַ֥ךְ overthrew hā·p̄aḵ וְלֹ֣א without wə·lō נִחָ֑ם compassion . ni·ḥām
