וֶהֱבִיא֖וּם and carry them off we·hĕ·ḇî·’ūm בָּבֶֽלָה׃ to Babylon . bā·ḇe·lāh Jeremiah 20:6 וְאַתָּ֣ה And you , wə·’at·tāh פַשְׁח֗וּר Pashhur , p̄aš·ḥūr וְכֹל֙ and all wə·ḵōl יֹשְׁבֵ֣י who live yō·šə·ḇê בֵיתֶ֔ךָ in your house , ḇê·ṯe·ḵā תֵּלְכ֖וּ will go tê·lə·ḵū בַּשֶּׁ֑בִי into captivity . baš·še·ḇî תָּב֗וֹא You will go tā·ḇō·w וּבָבֶ֣ל to Babylon , ū·ḇā·ḇel וְשָׁ֤ם and there wə·šām תָּמוּת֙ you will die tā·mūṯ וְשָׁ֣ם and wə·šām תִּקָּבֵ֔ר be buried — tiq·qā·ḇêr אַתָּה֙ you ’at·tāh וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl אֹ֣הֲבֶ֔יךָ your friends ’ō·hă·ḇe·ḵā אֲשֶׁר־ to whom ’ă·šer- נִבֵּ֥אתָ you have prophesied nib·bê·ṯā לָהֶ֖ם these lā·hem בַּשָּֽׁקֶר׃ס lies . ’” baš·šā·qer Jeremiah 20:7 פִּתִּיתַ֤נִי You have deceived me , pit·tî·ṯa·nî יְהוָה֙ O YHWH , Yah·weh וָֽאֶפָּ֔ת and I was deceived . wā·’ep·pāṯ חֲזַקְתַּ֖נִי You have overcome me ḥă·zaq·ta·nî וַתּוּכָ֑ל and prevailed . wat·tū·ḵāl הָיִ֤יתִי I am hā·yî·ṯî לִשְׂחוֹק֙ a laughingstock liś·ḥō·wq כָּל־ all kāl- הַיּ֔וֹם day long ; hay·yō·wm כֻּלֹּ֖ה everyone kul·lōh לֹעֵ֥ג mocks lō·‘êḡ לִֽי׃ me . lî Jeremiah 20:8 כִּֽי־ For kî- מִדֵּ֤י whenever mid·dê אֲדַבֵּר֙ I speak , ’ă·ḏab·bêr אֶזְעָ֔ק I cry out ; ’ez·‘āq אֶקְרָ֑א I proclaim ’eq·rā חָמָ֥ס violence ḥā·mās וָשֹׁ֖ד and destruction . wā·šōḏ כִּֽי־ For kî- דְבַר־ the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh הָיָ֨ה has become hā·yāh לִ֛י to me lî לְחֶרְפָּ֥ה a reproach lə·ḥer·pāh וּלְקֶ֖לֶס and derision ū·lə·qe·les כָּל־ all kāl- הַיּֽוֹם׃ day long . hay·yō·wm Jeremiah 20:9 וְאָמַרְתִּ֣י If I say , wə·’ā·mar·tî לֹֽא־ “ I will not lō- וְלֹֽא־ . . . wə·lō- אֶזְכְּרֶ֗נּוּ mention Him ’ez·kə·ren·nū אֲדַבֵּ֥ר or speak ’ă·ḏab·bêr עוֹד֙ any more ‘ō·wḏ בִּשְׁמ֔וֹ in His name ,” biš·mōw וְהָיָ֤ה [His message] becomes wə·hā·yāh כְּאֵ֣שׁ a fire kə·’êš בֹּעֶ֔רֶת burning bō·‘e·reṯ בְלִבִּי֙ in my heart , ḇə·lib·bî עָצֻ֖ר shut up ‘ā·ṣur בְּעַצְמֹתָ֑י in my bones , bə·‘aṣ·mō·ṯāy וְנִלְאֵ֥יתִי and I become weary wə·nil·’ê·ṯî כַּֽלְכֵ֖ל of holding it in , kal·ḵêl וְלֹ֥א and I cannot wə·lō אוּכָֽל׃ prevail . ’ū·ḵāl Jeremiah 20:10 כִּ֣י For kî שָׁמַ֜עְתִּי I have heard šā·ma‘·tî דִּבַּ֣ת the whispering dib·baṯ רַבִּים֮ of many : rab·bîm מָג֣וֹר “ Terror mā·ḡō·wr מִסָּבִיב֒ is on every side ! mis·sā·ḇîḇ הַגִּ֙ידוּ֙ Report him ; hag·gî·ḏū וְנַגִּידֶ֔נּוּ let us report him !” wə·nag·gî·ḏen·nū כֹּ֚ל All kōl אֱנ֣וֹשׁ my trusted friends ’ĕ·nō·wōš שְׁלוֹמִ֔י . . . šə·lō·w·mî שֹׁמְרֵ֖י watch for šō·mə·rê צַלְעִ֑י my fall : ṣal·‘î אוּלַ֤י “ Perhaps ’ū·lay יְפֻתֶּה֙ he will be deceived yə·p̄ut·teh וְנ֣וּכְלָה so that we may prevail wə·nū·ḵə·lāh ל֔וֹ against him lōw וְנִקְחָ֥ה and take wə·niq·ḥāh
