לָלֶ֣כֶת to walk lā·le·ḵeṯ נְתִיב֔וֹת on rutted nə·ṯî·ḇō·wṯ דֶּ֖רֶךְ bypaths de·reḵ לֹ֥א instead of lō סְלוּלָֽה׃ on the highway . sə·lū·lāh Jeremiah 18:16 לָשׂ֥וּם They have made lā·śūm אַרְצָ֛ם their land ’ar·ṣām לְשַׁמָּ֖ה a desolation , lə·šam·māh עוֹלָ֑ם a perpetual ‘ō·w·lām שְׁרוּקַת object of scorn ; šə·rū·qaṯ כֹּ֚ל all kōl עוֹבֵ֣ר who pass ‘ō·w·ḇêr עָלֶ֔יהָ by ‘ā·le·hā יִשֹּׁ֖ם will be appalled yiš·šōm וְיָנִ֥יד and shake wə·yā·nîḏ בְּרֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ their heads . bə·rō·šōw Jeremiah 18:17 אֲפִיצֵ֖ם I will scatter them ’ă·p̄î·ṣêm לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê אוֹיֵ֑ב the enemy ’ō·w·yêḇ קָדִ֥ים like the east qā·ḏîm כְּרֽוּחַ־ wind . kə·rū·aḥ- אֶרְאֵ֖ם I will show them ’er·’êm עֹ֧רֶף My back ‘ō·rep̄ וְלֹֽא־ and not wə·lō- פָנִ֛ים My face p̄ā·nîm בְּי֥וֹם in the day bə·yō·wm אֵידָֽם׃ס of their calamity . ” ’ê·ḏām Jeremiah 18:18 וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ Then [some] said , way·yō·mə·rū לְכ֨וּ “ Come , lə·ḵū וְנַחְשְׁבָ֣ה let us make plans wə·naḥ·šə·ḇāh מַחֲשָׁבוֹת֒ . . . ma·ḥă·šā·ḇō·wṯ עַֽל־ against ‘al- יִרְמְיָהוּ֮ Jeremiah , yir·mə·yā·hū כִּי֩ for kî תּוֹרָ֜ה the law tō·w·rāh לֹא־ will never lō- תֹאבַ֨ד be lost ṯō·ḇaḏ מִכֹּהֵ֗ן to the priest , mik·kō·hên וְעֵצָה֙ nor counsel wə·‘ê·ṣāh מֵֽחָכָ֔ם to the wise , mê·ḥā·ḵām וְדָבָ֖ר nor an oracle wə·ḏā·ḇār מִנָּבִ֑יא to the prophet . min·nā·ḇî לְכוּ֙ Come , lə·ḵū וְנַכֵּ֣הוּ let us denounce him wə·nak·kê·hū בַלָּשׁ֔וֹן . . . ḇal·lā·šō·wn וְאַל־ and pay no wə·’al- נַקְשִׁ֖יבָה heed naq·šî·ḇāh אֶל־ to ’el- כָּל־ any kāl- דְּבָרָֽיו׃ of his words .” də·ḇā·rāw Jeremiah 18:19 הַקְשִׁ֥יבָה Attend haq·šî·ḇāh אֵלָ֑י to me , ’ê·lāy יְהוָ֖ה O YHWH . Yah·weh וּשְׁמַ֖ע Hear ū·šə·ma‘ יְרִיבָֽי׃ what my accusers yə·rî·ḇāy לְק֥וֹל are saying ! lə·qō·wl Jeremiah 18:20 טוֹבָה֙ Should good ṭō·w·ḇāh הַיְשֻׁלַּ֤ם be repaid hay·šul·lam תַּֽחַת־ with ta·ḥaṯ- רָעָ֔ה evil ? rā·‘āh כִּֽי־ Yet kî- כָר֥וּ they have dug ḵā·rū שׁוּחָ֖ה a pit šū·ḥāh לְנַפְשִׁ֑י for me . lə·nap̄·šî זְכֹ֣ר׀ Remember zə·ḵōr עָמְדִ֣י how I stood ‘ā·mə·ḏî לְפָנֶ֗יךָ before You lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā לְדַבֵּ֤ר to speak lə·ḏab·bêr טוֹבָ֔ה good ṭō·w·ḇāh עֲלֵיהֶם֙ on their behalf , ‘ă·lê·hem לְהָשִׁ֥יב to turn lə·hā·šîḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֲמָתְךָ֖ Your wrath ḥă·mā·ṯə·ḵā מֵהֶֽם׃ from them . mê·hem Jeremiah 18:21 לָכֵן֩ Therefore , lā·ḵên בְּנֵיהֶ֜ם hand their children bə·nê·hem תֵּ֨ן over tên אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לָרָעָ֗ב to famine ; lā·rā·‘āḇ וְהַגִּרֵם֮ pour out wə·hag·gi·rêm יְדֵי־ the power yə·ḏê- חֶרֶב֒ of the sword ḥe·reḇ
